Any user who buys a new phone wants the device to work as long as possible without glitches and lags. Today we will talk about phones that are released based on Android. The first time the use of such phones should not be accompanied by a reboot and shutdown without the knowledge of the user. And this sometimes happens and the reason for this is the intrusive stock Android applications that run and work without the knowledge of the owner of the phone.

Today I will tell you how to deal with such applications and make it easier for your phone.

Why are there problems with the application?

Today, there is such a variety of mobile phones based on Android that the choice should be approached very carefully. But, choosing and buying a device is still half the trouble. The real trouble will begin when the user of the new phone comes across applications and Android components that he absolutely does not need and few people know about their existence. Such unfortunate applications only harm the phone. If you do not turn them off in time, you may expect such problems:

Of all the variety of applications on Android, these are the most necessary ones: Email, Browser, Phone, SMS / MMS (Messages), Downloads, Camera, Settings, Engineering menu, Play Store, SIM menu, Contacts, FM radio, Google Settings , Clock, Tasks, Music, Video player, Backup (Google Drive), Organizer, Calendar, File manager, Voice recorder, Weather, Navigation.

There are a couple of applications that are popular among users, but all the rest just take up space.

For example, the manufacturer installed on Android the main applications that he considered necessary. But, the distribution company can add to this list of applications, such as: Skype, Google Mail, Google Chrome browser (an alternative to the system browser), OK Google (Google voice search), Movie Maker and their own applications.

But, the list of applications does not end there. After all, there are also mobile operators who are also not lazy and write their own applications. For example, if you are connected to "Beeline", you will be waiting for the installation of the default application "My Beeline". If you bought a smartphone or tablet from MTS, then the following applications will be installed on the device: “Where are the children”, “Second memory”, “Personal account”, “Direct transfer” and others created for convenient management of additional services on the SIM number MTS cards.

The good news is that all these applications do not need to search for a long time. Most often they are placed directly on the desktop and have the company logo of the manufacturer. It is also good that all these branded applications can be removed without special Root access. Even if they were set by default before being put on display in a communication salon.

Is it possible to uninstall system apps on Android?

On Android, you can do any manipulations with applications, including deleting and changing the above. Only for this you need to have Root-rights. The files of all installed applications are located by default in one place, namely in the system / app folder, and they are all write-protected.

Since there were many requirements for removing system applications, programs have become popular that help you get Root access with the touch of a finger. There are a lot of such applications, the most popular among them are Easy Rooting Toolkit, Gingerbreak, HTC Quick Root, RootExplorer, SuperOneClick, VISIONary, Unlock Root, Unrevoked, z4root.

Which application is suitable for your device can be checked using the test that is in each of the applications.

For example, the RootExplorer application will allow you to change the access level for system folders, while setting their "Read / Write" attribute for them. After installing this application, you will be able to create, edit, rename, delete and perform any other actions in folders that located in system/app This program is freely available and you can easily download it from the Play Market.

List of applications to remove

The list of applications that will be given below will allow you to find and remove the most unnecessary ones. There are no applications in the list, the removal of which can lead to malfunctions of the device. You can safely delete them without fear that your phone or tablet will start to fail.

How to properly uninstall an application?

After you download and install the application that gives you Root rights, you will have access to all the folders in the internal memory, including the system ones. Now you can do whatever you want with the built-in apps.

But here, too, there are some rules. Despite the fact that deleting applications is not difficult, I still recommend that you do it the first time according to the plan that I will write below.

The first step is to install the application "SystemApp Remover".

The second step is already work in this very program. You can not only delete user data, but also save or restore it. If a complete uninstall is available for the application you have selected, you will see a window on your phone or tablet screen with the notification “Uninstall” and “Disable”.

Problems that may arise when uninstalling programs

When you delete any application of your choice, you need to delete not only the APK files, but also the files that have the ODEX extension.

The ODEX extension points to a description file for any application. If you do not delete it, then you will have unnecessary entries in the registry of the Android operating system that will affect the speed of the smartphone as a whole.

As soon as you turn on your Android phone or tablet, the entire registry is loaded into RAM. Thus, the device works constantly, in full combat gear, so to speak. At the moment when you turn off or reboot the Android system, all this data is stored in the internal flash memory of the device.

My advice to you, before removing any system application from an Android device, you first need to simply disable it and use your phone or tablet in this way. There may be some crashes or freezes without this application. Then you should never delete it, but on the contrary, quickly turn it on so that your Android device works as before.

I wrote you a list of applications that can be deleted without fear for the operation of the smartphone. But there are applications that, on the contrary, should not be deleted. We are talking about applications, without which your device will lose performance and it will be inconvenient to use it. This is, in a way, the backbone of each device. We are talking about applications: "Phone", "Messages", SIM-menu, "Settings", "Navigation" and "File Manager".

After you remove all the applications you do not need, traces of them will still remain. The "/system/lib" and "/data/dalvik-cache" folders will still contain information about deleted applications. The first folder should never be touched. Any changes to it may lead to consequences that will be displayed on the operation of the smartphone. The second can be cleared by doing a hard reset of the android - hard-reset.

Of course, SystemApp Remover is very convenient and easy to use. But you also have to be very careful with it. Before uninstalling any application using this utility, I recommend that you make a copy of this application itself. Perhaps, at first glance, an unnecessary application is of great importance for the firmware of an Android device. System applications, on which the operation of Android processes and services directly depends, require the utmost care. Yes, some may say that making a new firmware is not difficult. But, it's better not to bring the state of your phone to the point that it needs to be reflashed.

The flashing procedure is also feasible at home. But, after all, you will have to spend time on this, and the first time it’s not a fact that it will work out.

If the removal of system applications on Android is treated very carelessly, then there can be big problems with the phone. Most often, haste or inattention in this matter leads to the following consequences: SMS is not sent or it is impossible to receive or make a call, access to the Internet via Wi-Fi is lost, cyclic restarts or long-term freezes occur when the device starts. And this is not a complete list of troubles.

Recovering deleted system applications

Remember the main rule - before you delete a system application on Android, be sure to make a backup of this application. This is a very important point, since some applications that do not affect the operation of one smartphone in any way may affect the operation of another. Therefore, we copy not only ARC files, but also ODEX files. Now I will tell you a specific example of a backup using the Titanium Backup tool. As well as for deleting applications, you need to get Root rights for the backup procedure. How to do this, I told a little higher.

Download and install the Titanium Backup application from Androidapplications.ru. After installing it, we launch it, while assigning superuser rights to the application.

To continue working with the application, you need to open access to the system folder. Now you need to open the "Backups" tab. In this folder there will be a list of applications that you can copy. After that, you need to select a property for the list of Android applications by which it will be available to you.

In simple words - you need to sort the list of applications according to one main criterion.

Now we open the action bar, which will be located above the selected application, if you click on its name. Click the "Freeze!" window. This way you will create a backup copy.

In order to save the application, press the "Save" button. You will have to open each of the applications and save a copy of it. But, it's worth spending time on this, as this is the only insurance in case you delete an application that will badly affect the smartphone or tablet.

If the blocked application still affected the operation of the device, then it must be returned. To unlock and run the Android application, you need to follow the same steps as described above, but instead of "Freeze", you need to select "Unfreeze".
In order to restore a deleted application, you need to run Titanium Backup again, sort the list of applications by the presence of their backup copies and restore each of the applications separately by clicking on "Restore".

There is another way to save applications. With it, you can save them all at once. To do this, you need to launch the Titanium Backup program and open the tool for creating a complete "system" copy of Android and select the item "Back up all system data". If you want to save others in addition to system applications, then select the item "Back up all user software and system data”.

If you did delete some system applications that were especially important, they will need to be restored. To do this, you need to run the recovery tool in the Titanium Backup program.

To restore, select "Restore all system data". If user applications that you also want to return were deleted, then select "Restore missing software and all system data".

Remove all unnecessary system applications at once

Once you've learned how to use "freeze" system applications, you can already make a list of programs that you absolutely do not need to use your device. After making sure that your device works fine without these applications, it's time to start removing them. what to do if there are a lot of such applications?Uninstalling each of them manually is a long and boring process. Now I will teach you how to avoid all this.

To remove all unnecessary applications in one fell swoop, you will naturally need Root access. But besides this, you cannot do without a file manager on a PC or on the smartphone itself.

If you will be deleting directly on your smartphone, then you need to find and open the standard Android file manager. First of all, you will see the APK files that you are about to delete.

Then go to the system/app folder and manually remove any apps you don't need. If you know exactly what the names of the applications you want to delete are called, then for convenience, use the file manager search.

Very important: components that are part of the Android operating system and marked with a web address in a "mirror" image of the form com.android.<ресурс>, or having an icon in the form of a green Android robot - are not subject to deletion.

Look for applications that do not have such an inscription. For all others, there will be normal names that match the name of the programs that you have chosen to remove. If you delete a file that is an integral part of the Android operating system, the device's firmware will crash completely. Then you can not do without a complete software system recovery procedure, which you are unlikely to be able to carry out on your own.

But, even this problem will be helped by specialists in service centers. It just won't be cheap.

If we properly clean your smartphone from debris, then you will avoid sudden loss of firmware and failure of your smartphone. Moreover, with proper cleaning, the device will start working many times faster, as you will free up internal memory. For some, after removing unnecessary system programs, the battery on the device holds a charge longer, and traffic consumption is reduced significantly.

I hope my tips will help you and you will speed up your smartphone. Thank you for being with us.

In this practical guide, I will show you how to uninstall an app on Android in various ways. You can do this without harming the OS. You will also learn how to remove system (standard) and. How to uninstall them from internal memory or sd card.

The best programs for uninstallation

Video instruction:

Why delete apps from Android?

  • The phone slows down, slowly responds to user actions. As a result, working with the phone is inconvenient, access to important functions slows down.
  • There is not enough memory on the mobile device. This happens not always due to the small amount of RAM, but because unnecessary applications are installed on the phone. Because of this, side and unnecessary functions run in the background.
  • By deleting unnecessary applications, you will focus on the most useful (of the remaining ones) and will not be distracted by unnecessary ones.
  • Some developers introduce advertising into their products - a popup screen is displayed on the phone screen or lockscreen (lock screen), which cannot be removed in any way except by uninstalling the “culprit”.

Reference. Uninstallation is the removal of a mobile application (or computer program) from the operating system and storage device.

How to remove unwanted apps from your phone

Through the standard Application Manager

You can find a section with a list of installed programs on Android at: Settings - Applications.

Toolkit of the standard Android application manager

In the "Applications" section, you can find out how much space a particular application occupies, where it is installed - in the internal memory or on the SD card. The bottom of the screen shows how much phone memory is free and used. By clicking on the line with the name, you will find out the cache size and data consumption in the OS.

Applications installed by the user can be stopped (i.e. unloaded from memory), deleted or transferred from the phone's memory to the sd card (which is useful if you need to free up the phone's memory).

In the SD memory card tab - a list of applications installed on the phone's sd card.

In the Running section - useful information about how long a particular program has been running, how much RAM is being consumed. Thus, if an application is wasting resources, it can and should be removed.

It should be noted that the standard Android toolkit is not suitable for mass removal of android applications, although it is useful for a single removal of a particular package.

Uninstall apps with CCleaner

CCleaner is a simple yet effective utility for uninstalling apps on Android. An intuitive interface allows you to remove everything unnecessary in a few clicks: applications and cache (sometimes occupying hundreds of megabytes), apk installers and temporary files, and other “garbage”. The full version of the app is free, but contains ads.

The sequence of actions to remove applications using CCleaner:

  1. Download and install the utility
  2. Through the main menu, go to the "Application Management" section.
  3. The tabs are distributed installed, system and disabled applications. Select the desired section.
  4. By clicking on the line with the application, information is available: name, size of the program and cache, installation date, version, etc.
  5. Select the items and click on the Recycle Bin icon to remove programs from Android.
  6. Click "Delete" again and confirm the operation.

Uninstalling apps through CCleaner for Android

Through CCleaner, you can remove applications in batch mode, and not one by one, as the standard manager suggests.

CCleaner is suitable for regular Android cleaning and uninstalling apps from your phone. It is not possible to remove standard Android applications (such as Google Drive, Gmail) in CCleaner - neither with root access nor without it.

Clean Master - remove stock and custom applications

Clean Master is another program for comprehensive cleaning of the phone from garbage: temporary files, duplicates and leftover data that one or another application is “too lazy” to clean up after itself. Clean Master does not specialize in uninstalling programs, but it does include a module called Application Manager.

Batch mode for uninstalling applications on the phone is available here. In addition, you can manage apk packages and move applications from a memory card. This will help reallocate space and clean up your phone's internal memory.

Removing Android system applications in Clean Master is not available, you can only uninstall user programs - installed by yourself.

Removing system applications through System App Remover Pro

Removing Android system applications will help speed up the OS. However, it only makes sense to do this if you clearly know what can be deleted. To do this, you will need root rights and System App Remover.

Remove unwanted apps from your phone

Through the System Applications section, you can remove what ordinary managers do not allow you to do. However, we advise you to follow the recommendations of the uninstaller and deactivate only applications that are marked “Can be removed”. Otherwise, you can disable the Android OS or provoke system errors.

To remove Android system components:

  1. In the System App Remover menu, go to the "System Applications" section;
  2. In the list, tick the items to be deleted;
  3. Click the "Delete" button.

By the way, this method will help remove non-removable applications hidden in the standard Android manager, available only in safe mode. For example, adware and spyware.

Advice. If your goal is to free up space in your phone's memory, we strongly advise against deleting system applications. It's better to buy a capacious memory card and install all applications on it.

System App Remover requires payment for its full-featured work in the pro version (the free edition displays ads at the bottom of the window). Symbolic $ 1.88 gives you access to the following features:

  • Management of system and user applications;
  • Move any installed application to sd memory card or internal phone memory;
  • Use as a Phone Basket ;
  • Allows you to remove Android system applications;
  • Batch uninstallation mode: you can check the boxes of only the necessary applications and remove them in a few clicks.
  • Flexible management of standard and custom applications: sorting, filtering by name, package name and path, application search and more.

What apps can be safely uninstalled on Android

We will note the applications that it makes sense to remove in order to increase the performance of the mobile device.

  1. Remove social media clients. In particular, the Facebook / Messenger app consumes a lot of memory on Android, with you constantly being distracted by notifications.
  2. Feel free to remove unnecessary user programs - those that you installed yourself through Google Play or by downloading the apk file from an unverified source.
  3. Uninstall antiviruses. It would seem a controversial decision, but if you are confident in the security of your mobile device or you do not have a special need for constant protection, remove the antivirus.
  4. You can remove optimizers and cleaners. Programs like CleanMaster and DU Battery Saver are useful on an occasional basis. Over time, they begin to bother and hang like a dead weight in the Android RAM.
  5. Games are not only the main time-killers: they take up a significant amount of megabytes in the memory of a mobile device.

Final tip: Install only the apps you need on your phone

Keep only the apps you need on your phone. Try alternatives, experiment, but always control what is installed.

If you install any program through the Google Play application, be sure to test it and make a conclusion: leave the program or delete it. On the one hand, this approach requires time and patience, on the other hand, you save your nerves. A phone loaded with dozens of apps won't run as fast as it did when you bought it.

Answers to questions from readers

I can not update applications on my phone, they write that there is not enough memory. But I deleted some of them, except for the standard ones, and still I can’t download and install anything. There are very few programs on the phone, and it is impossible to do anything. What to do, why applications are not installed on the phone?

Answer. The first tip is to buy a capacious sd card. This is the easiest and fastest way to solve the problem of missing memory on your phone. No need to delete applications and constantly clear the memory to “carve out” space in the internal storage.

We also advise you to carefully read the guide on how to uninstall applications on Android. Perhaps you need not only the Android application manager, but something more flexible, like the uninstaller from the developer Jumobile (see above). It will allow you to remove even hidden applications on your phone, as well as Chinese or system ones.

I get notifications on my phone (Sony Xperia M4 Aqua) that there is not enough memory on the phone. I decided to transfer some applications to the SD card and leave only the necessary applications for Android in the internal memory. A little time passed and the notifications began to come again, there was no more space on the SD card and I decided to clear it out of my mind, forgetting that I once transferred applications there, and now the icons of these applications are on my screen, but I can’t enter them , and the SD card icon is lit on top of these icons. And the most important thing is that I can't download the programs again and I can't delete the application from my phone.

Answer. All applications transferred to the sd card (or even deleted user applications) can be easily returned - just go to Google Play and find this or that program for Android through the search, then click on the Install button.

You can transfer applications to the sd card as follows:

  1. Go to Settings - Applications (Application Manager).
  2. Go to SD Card or USB Drive
  3. Find in the list the application that you want to transfer to the sd card
  4. Confirm action

By the way, removing unnecessary or transferring Android system applications in this way is impossible; this will require third-party programs like Jumobile.

I installed a memory card on my smartphone, I want to download the application. It does not install, writes: delete applications, there is not enough memory. The phone's memory is full. How to remove unwanted apps from Android?

Answer. If you wish, you can remove unnecessary applications using CCleaner, CleanMaster or Jumobile's application manager. These utilities, by the way, will allow you to clear free space by deleting the cache, temporary files and other unnecessary data on the phone.

If the system memory is full of applications, it is better to transfer them to the sd card (I wrote about how to do this above in the text).

Deleted some program on the phone. On the screen (in the lower left corner) the inscription “Safe Mode” was displayed. Some applications are no longer visible. I downloaded the Undelete recovery program, I can’t log in, but this program is installed in the Play Store. What could be the program that is causing problems after uninstalling it?

Answer. You may have deleted a system application on Android or an installed program conflicts with your phone. Restarting the device helps exit safe mode. If after rebooting you still enter this mode, try turning off the phone and turning it on with the power button and volume down held down at the same time.

Tip: do not delete system or user applications on Android without knowing their purpose. Deletion can lead to serious consequences: at best, you will have to reflash the phone.

When buying a new smartphone, the question arises in my head - which applications can be removed on Android, and which ones are better left. The problem is most often related to performance, lack of free space and the rapid consumption of battery power. Let's see what you can delete on your smartphone.

You cannot touch system applications. Without them, a smartphone can turn into a useless "brick". Yes, and it is impossible to remove them without having root (administrator) rights. We warn you right away - if you manage to get root rights, it is absolutely impossible to touch and delete applications whose purpose you do not know. In addition, such intervention will immediately void the warranty. The same applies to utilities responsible for the functionality of the Android operating system. For example, ChocoEUKor is software associated with system fonts, you don't need to touch it.

But the rest of the trash can be removed. These applications include:

  • Games - most often here are demos that you have to pay for.
  • Weather widgets from little-known services.
  • Applications for foreign social networks and other software.

Let's talk about these applications in more detail.

If you have root rights, it is not recommended to remove applications with the word service in their names - they may be part of the operating system.

How to uninstall an application: step by step instructions

The removal procedure is extremely simple - go to the menu, click on the program's shortcut, hold it, and then send the software to the trash can located at the top of the screen (or to the inscription: "Delete"). In some models, the removal is carried out directly from the desktops. Another way to uninstall is through the "Applications" menu in the smartphone settings.

Some applications are marked by the manufacturer as uninstallable. You can only delete them with root rights. So that they do not waste system resources, do not consume traffic and do not waste extra charge, they can be disabled. Similarly, some system applications, such as weather, are disabled. This is done as follows:

  1. We go to the "Applications" menu.
  2. We select an unnecessary program.
  3. Click the "Stop" button, and then "Disable".

Some programs on smartphones with Android stop only after updates are deleted - delete them, click the "Disable" button. Disabling provides a reduction in the load on the processor and on the battery, smartphones start to work much faster.

In some shells, disabling applications is handled differently. And some programs are even marked as non-disableable - this is done to avoid disrupting the functionality of devices.

Popular but unnecessary apps

Now we will look at the categories of programs that are not needed on a smartphone, are not important, or simply affect performance. They can be safely removed or disabled.

Widgets are parts of some system or third-party applications. They are displayed on the desktop and display some information, for example, the current weather. Some of them seriously drain the battery and waste system resources. To delete an unwanted widget, hold it with your finger and move it to the trash.

Instead of a basket, crosses or buttons with the words “Delete” may appear at the top of the screen - it all depends on the brand of the smartphone.

Battery saver app

You can save battery power on Android without any software. It is enough to turn off unnecessary connections - for example, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. You can also set automatic brightness control, turn off vibration for various events. The use of programs designed to save battery power is considered questionable. The same night mode with disabled Internet access can be activated without the help of software (which, by the way, also "eats" part of the charge).

Default browser

Usually such browsers are non-removable. But it's worth a try - especially if the developer pushed several browsers into the system at once. The more software, the greater the load on the processor, battery and RAM. Therefore, we boldly remove all unnecessary browsers and leave one (or a maximum of two, if the system one cannot be deleted).

Social networks

  • In contact with.
  • Classmates.
  • Instagram.

All others are used much less frequently. Therefore, unused social network clients should be deleted, leaving only the necessary ones. If you need them, install them from the Google Play app store later.

Weather apps

The following applications give the most accurate forecast:

  • Gismeteo.
  • Yandex.Weather.

All other programs responsible for displaying the current weather and forecasts can be safely deleted. Moreover, in foreign weather services there are often no small settlements from Russia. And they are also desperately eating up battery power, updating the weather report every 10-15 minutes. If they don't want to leave, turn it off.

Antivirus programs

Whether or not to remove antivirus software on Android is up to you. The problem is that usually pre-installed products are paid or limited in terms of use (demo version for 1-2 months). If you are not a supporter of paid software, demolish antiviruses and install others - from the same MegaFon on the “Turn on!” a free version of ESET NOD32 with Anti-Theft is offered. There are also other free antiviruses.

On weak Android smartphones, the use of antiviruses puts a serious strain on the processor and battery.

Clean Master and other system optimizers

It is not recommended to use any optimizers for Android, with the exception of already built-in tools. For example, Xiaomi smartphones have a regular RAM cleaning function. They also know how to regulate the resource consumption of certain programs. As for Clean Master, there are a lot of complaints about it - these are constant notifications, a decrease in the speed of the smartphone, constant requirements to install paid add-ons and a bunch of ads. Therefore, we remove this software immediately without hesitation.

List of other unnecessary system applications

By deleting or disabling everything unnecessary, you will make your smartphone “fly” with ease. Even a simple disabling of non-removable programs contributes to this.

If you're a power user, then you'll probably want to know what's going on in the background of your phone. Just like Windows and OS X, your Android device has all sorts of apps running in the background. Such applications use valuable resources and can slow down your smartphone or tablet to some extent. You can work through the list of apps that have been running and disable the ones you don't need to speed up your device, whether you're using an older Galaxy S3 or a newer Moto X (2014). But the question arises: what applications are safe to disable or remove? See below for how to check this.

Some of the apps running in the background are the ones you manually installed from Google Play. Other apps are part of the Android OS and some may be added by your mobile operator. If there are any apps that you installed before that you no longer need, you can uninstall them so they don't take up space or use device resources.

However, there are other applications - those that you have not installed. You might be surprised how many apps are running in the background. Fortunately, this is easy to check in the application manager. If you own a Samsung device, go to the settings, go to the "Advanced" section and click on "Application Manager". After that, you will see a list of applications you have installed, but if you swipe the screen to the right, you will have access to the full list of applications available on your device.

In addition to the applications you have installed, you will also be able to see a list of other applications and features. You will notice that many of the items in the list have an Android icon by default. This means that they are part of the operating system. To find out more about an app, just click on it.

By and large, it is difficult to determine from the list which applications are needed and which ones can be discarded. You should experiment with services that you definitely do not use, for example, if you have never printed files from your device, then you can disable applications like EpsonPrintService. To be on the safe side, before disabling a particular application, you must click on the "Stop" icon and use your phone for a while. During this period, watch for any unexpected side effects. If everything works as you expected, you can safely disable this application.

However, you should be aware that many applications have dependencies. Disabling one app can prevent another from working, plus there are plenty of apps that are required for a full Android experience.

It's worth noting that it's not easy to come up with an exhaustive list of apps that can be safely turned off safely and that are necessary, as every mobile device is different. But there is software that will help you in this matter, for example, the System App Remover (ROOT) application. Despite the name, you don't have to root your smartphone or tablet to install the above app, although if you don't, you won't be able to use the full functionality of System App Remover.

Install and run System App Remover. After that, call up the menu and click on "System Application". After a few seconds, a list of applications will appear, at the top of which there will be applications marked “Can be deleted”. Now go back to "Application Manager" and disable any app that you saw earlier is safe to disable.

Other than that, you can also be brave and uninstall system apps that you absolutely don't need. Let's face it, this is a little risky, so you need to be completely sure that it will be safe for you to remove certain components. Plus, if you choose to disable or uninstall apps you don't need, you'll reap the benefits of a faster and smoother Android experience.

How much free space did you free up by deleting system apps? Have you noticed a big difference in performance when disabling unnecessary applications?

The developer places factory utilities in any “OS” - they can be proprietary (from the manufacturer of the device itself, for example, for the Sony Xperia line of phones), or standard for a specific OS, for example, Google Services or Google Maps for Android . Is it possible to remove these utilities painlessly for the system and how to do it?

Is it possible to delete factory programs, why do it and what is it fraught with

The built-in Android utilities may take up too much space in the device's memory. If you need to install some new program, the user has to remove the old third-party utilities in order to free up some volume. After all, system programs cannot be deleted just like that - this option is not available in the settings.

In addition, errors may appear in the system software - because of them, the OS stops working as it should. Constantly pops up a notification on the screen about the problem. One way to fix it is to remove the problematic utility.

Is it possible to get rid of the application that was originally in Android? It depends on the program itself: some utilities are too important - they cannot be removed. Therefore, you first need to know if a particular program can be uninstalled or not.

Not all built-in utilities can be removed from an Android phone.

If you remove important software, you will face the consequences: the phone will lose some functions, stop loading, or constantly restart.

There are several ways to get rid of the system utility, but most of them require Root rights - smartphone administrator rights. That is, the user in this case will be free to change whatever he wants in the phone - the internal protection of the system will not interfere with him. Without such rights, you can only disable the program in the settings.

What system applications can be removed

The built-in Android utilities are divided into three types:

  1. System software. They are needed for the productive work of the "OS". Removing or disabling them is fraught with the consequences that we described above.
  2. Google Services. You can turn them off if you or third-party software that you installed on your smartphone do not use them. You may not be able to delete them in all cases. If, for example, you remove Google Maps, you won't be able to play apps that require navigation (Pokemon GO, for example).
  3. Applications from the phone manufacturer. Most of them can be removed from the phone. However, the removal of some utilities can still lead to the failure of certain OS nodes. Therefore, you also need to be careful with them.

Before deciding to delete, check out the list of utilities in the table - select for yourself those that can be removed painlessly or at least with minimal risk from the phone.

We remove system applications without Root-rights

Many built-in utilities on Android work in the background, taking up space in the RAM. If there are too many of them, the third-party utilities in which you work may simply lack the remaining amount of RAM - they “slow down”, close themselves.

If this is the only problem, it is not necessary to remove those utilities with which you can do this. It is enough to simply deactivate them, and Root-rights or third-party uninstallers are no longer needed here:

  1. Go to the Android settings through the gear icon in the menu.
  2. Switch to the block with applications.

We launch one of the sections called "Applications"

  3. In the "Running" section, look at the utilities that are currently taking up RAM memory.

Find out what applications are currently running on the phone

  4. Find in the "All" tab a built-in utility that you do not use.

We are looking for utilities that can be deactivated in the "All Applications" tab

  5. Click on "Stop" and then on "Disable".

    Click on "Stop"

  6. If the key for deactivation is non-clickable (gray), you will not be able to carry it out without Root-rights. And, most likely, this cannot be done. Refer to the list in the previous section of the article. In this case, you can only temporarily stop the process.

The "Disable" key is not clickable for all built-in applications

Using the ADB utility to remove applications without root rights

The ADB utility is a product of the developer Shipilov Vitaly. With its help, you can remove the system application on the phone from the PC without obtaining Root rights. The version of the ADB Run program is lighter, so it is recommended for beginners. Let's look at the procedure in detail:

  1. Download the installer from the developer's site (select the version for Windows 7 and above, or for XP or Vista).

Download the utility from the official website of the developer

  2. Install the program.

Install adb run on your computer

  3. Now on your smartphone through the Play Market, install the App Inspector application.

Install App Inspector on your phone

  4. Go into it - find the system software that you want to remove. Expand its menu and remember the value for the Package name parameter.

Find out the Package name for the program you want to remove from your phone

  5. Connect smartphone and PC via USB cable. Open the ADB Run utility on your computer. Enter the number 12 to open the Other command menu.

In the main menu of ADB Run write 12 and press Enter

  6. Now write 7 and press "Enter" in the same way.

In the Other Command section, run command 7

  7. As a result, the App Package Delete command will appear.

If the phrase App Package Delete appears, then you did everything right

  8. Type in the value for the package name you previously memorized - hit enter. The system utility should be removed.

Enter the package name of the program you are about to uninstall

Video: how to remove system utilities without Root rights

We remove system programs using Root rights

We will divide this removal method into two stages: obtaining administrator rights and the removal itself through one of the special programs. Keep in mind that Root rights give complete freedom to the user, but this is their danger. You can delete an important system process. In addition, these rights will deprive you of warranty service, make the device more vulnerable to viruses, and in case of unsuccessful user actions, they can even turn the device into a “brick”.

How to get Root rights

Let's start setting up phone administrator rights:

  1. Go to the official website of the Kingo Android Root utility and click on the green button to download the installer. Follow the simple instructions of the installation wizard.

Download the Android Root utility from the Kingo website

  2. On a smartphone or tablet with Android, go to the settings, and in the menu to the "About phone" section. Open the "Device Information" item.

Go to the penultimate section in the "About phone" block

  3. Tap the Build Number or Build Version several times quickly. As a result, a message should appear stating that you are in the developer category.

In the information section, click several times on the line with the assembly number of the phone

  4. The "For Developers" block will appear in the settings menu - expand it.
  5. Activate the "USB Debugging" option.

    Enable USB Debugging

  6. Connect your PC and phone via a USB cable. Run the Kingo Android Root program on the computer in parallel. If the two devices are successfully connected, the Root key will appear - click on it.

Click on the Root button in the utility menu

  7. Click on Finish and restart your phone.

Click on Finish when the device is rooted

  8. After launch, the SuperSU application should appear on the smartphone.

The phone menu should have the SuperSU app icon after rooting

We start the removal through a third-party program (uninstaller)

After obtaining Root rights, you can already proceed to remove the built-in software through third-party utilities.

This explorer is the most popular because of its extensive functionality, so let's analyze the removal using its example:

  1. Download and install the program through the Play Market.

Install ES File Explorer on your mobile device

  2. Open the utility and tap on the icon with three stripes at the top left. Click on the "Root Explorer" option in the menu.

Activate the "Root Explorer" option in the program menu

  3. We confirm the granting of administrator rights through the SuperSu application.

Tap on "Give" in the dialog box

  4. We launch the “Device” section through the same menu.

In local storage go to "Device"

  5. Go to the System folder and then to the app directory.

Open the System folder in File Explorer

  6. A list of built-in utilities or their folders will appear (for Windows versions above 5).

If you have an Android version below 5, there will be files in the folder

  7. We select either the application folder, or its apk or odex file - for this we hold it with our finger for a couple of seconds.

Highlight the folders of the apps you want to remove

  8. A basket should appear at the bottom. We transfer the icon to this basket. We agree to the removal. We repeat the steps for all other useless built-in utilities.

Click on "Delete" on the bottom bar of the screen

An uninstaller is built into ES Explorer, so programs can be uninstalled in this utility in this way:

  1. We grant Root rights to the program in the way described above.
  2. On the main page of the explorer, click on the Apps directory.

On the File Explorer home screen, click on Apps

  3. We call the menu with the types of programs and select "System".

Select system programs from the drop-down menu

  4. We are looking for an unnecessary utility - tap on it.

Tap on the program with your finger

  5. In the dialog box, select uninstall.

    Confirm uninstallation in the window

  6. The removal of the system utility will start - wait for it to complete.

"Android" will show you the process of uninstalling the program

The app is pretty easy to work with. There is no need to open folders manually, all programs are already available in the form of a list, as in the phone settings:

  1. We put Root Uninstaller on our "Android" through the Play Market.

Install the Root Uninstaller utility on your smartphone

  2. After the first launch, the application will require administrator rights - we provide.
  3. We go to the section with system applications (System apps). Choose a utility.
