let's consider various ways, how to do it.

Method 1

First, switch to the photo we want to move. In my example, I'll be moving the wedding couple into the photo with roses. So, I click on the name of the document tab with a couple to select movable Photo. As a result, a photo of the couple is displayed in the working window of Photoshop:

Now take the tool tool "Move" (Move Tool):

And click anywhere in the photo. Then, holding down the mouse button, drag the cursor over the name of the tab of another photo. Let's not release the key!

When you hover over the name of the tab of the second photo, this same photo is activated and displayed in the working window of Photoshop. It remains to drag the cursor from the name to the photo itself. Notice how the cursor has changed:

Now you can release the left mouse button. Photo with a couple moved to a photo with roses!

Note. If you want the photo to be moved to be exactly centered on the center of the target photo after moving, press and hold before moving Shift key and release it only after the end of the action.

Here I just placed a photo on the right side of the target:

So, we looked at two ways to combine images open in Photoshop tabs.

Having upgraded to Windows 10, I ran into a problem - files stopped being dragged into Photoshop! You have to open the file through the menu, which is very inconvenient and time consuming.

The search for a solution led to the results that I want to share with you. Take it, you'll need it.

First, simple solution:

If files are not dragged into Photoshop, you need to check the access rights. To do this, right-click on the program shortcut and go to the "Properties" tab where we put a tick "Run this program as an Administrator".

I must say right away that this method did not help me, in this case there is a second solution:

1. Go to Start and in the search bar at the bottom, paste the command: regedit
2. Next, go poti: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Policies > System
3. Find the EnableLUA section. Open it with a double click and change the variable from 1 to 0. Save. The computer will ask you to restart. Agree or reboot manually. We rejoice - now the files are dragged into Photoshop.

Personally tested on:
1. Windows 10 Photoshop CS6 x64
2. Windows 8 Photoshop CS6 x64
3. Windows 7 Photoshop CS6 x64

UPDATED 01/27/2019

Thanks to our user named Artem, another solution was found:

In Win10 Eng, only one way specifically helps - go to the Propirties of the shortcut, go to the Compatibility tab, go down, go to Change settings for all users, uncheck Run this program as an administrator, click Apply - and that's it, the files are dragged. And all these your Enable LUAs are a hat, after changing to 0, photos, music, videos, skype and other Windows scales will not work. Do you need it?

Just yesterday I decided to upgrade the old third photoshop, to the last sixth CS6. Everything was installed, it somehow did not work out to enjoy the fresh version. As always, Windows excelled. visible from each new version there will be more surprises.

The first launch of my Photoshop sc6 resulted in an error. I did not have enough rights to run the program. Running the program as administrator every time is not a very comfortable procedure. On behalf of the administrator, Photoshop was still launched, but the adventures did not end there. It immediately turned out that a banal and convenient action, like dragging a file into a program so that it opens, for some reason does not work. Again, an ambush, so that we will solve problems as they come.

The first solution is the simplest

If you get an error when starting Photoshop, as well as your files are not dragged. permissions need to be checked. You can see them in the properties tab ( right button on the Photoshop shortcut). Next, check the presence of a checkmark in the Compatibility tab - the level of rights. If the checkbox is checked, it must be removed (see fig.).

Specifically, this method did not help me, since I did not have a check mark. Well, we continue to solve the problem.

The second solution is more difficult

Let me tell you, it helped me. The solution is very, very simple.

1. Through the "Run" command, enter regedit.
2. There, follow the path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Policies > System
3. Find EnableLUA by double clicking on it. We change the variable from 1 to 0. And everything works.
