The Android operating system is almost a monopolist among mobile phones and tablets, but, despite its popularity, it has certain disadvantages.

In addition to the fact that this OS greatly affects the battery life of a smartphone, users are faced with the problem of deleting some applications.

Not always Android allows you to remove a program or game completely, or does not allow you to remove it at all.

What could be the reasons?

It is not always that applications are not deleted, this is an operating system error. There can be several reasons for such a problem with the software:

  1. The application is standard (system) and it is sewn into the operating system itself.
  2. The application is viral, downloaded from a suspicious site and not checked by an antivirus.
  3. An OS error has occurred.
  4. An error has occurred in the SD card on which the application is installed.

How to remove applications from android that are not removed

The first step is to check if the standard Android utilities can handle this task. Try to exit to the desktop, press your finger on the application icon and wait a few seconds.

If the "delete" function does not appear at the top of the screen, go to "Settings" and open the "Applications" item.

So find the program you want to remove and open advanced information about it. Among them, find the item "delete".

If the described methods did not help you, try downloading third-party applications that are designed to remove unnecessary programs from your phone. Use only Google Play to download.

The most popular among such programs at the moment are EasyUninstaller and Uninstaller. They are freely available and work for free.

Procedure for uninstalling an application

Determine the reason why programs are not removed. First, use an antivirus. Check the phone in order to completely exclude the virus option.

If you come across a virus program, then Avast Mobile or Doctor Web will do their job perfectly and help you remove it.

If the application is installed on an SD card, you need to check it too. Connect your smartphone or tablet to your computer or insert a memory card into it through a card reader. After that, check the SD card with the built-in Windows utilities. If a problem is found, the computer itself will tell you the right way to fix it.

Open the "Applications" item in "Settings" and select the application that you want to remove. If the antivirus check did not give an error, the memory card is in order, and there is still no “delete” button, this application is a system application.

The catch is that this requires root rights. Root is the account of the main administrator of the device. There is no access to these rights in standard Android functions.

According to the developers, they disabled this feature so that users cannot accidentally change system files or the basic settings of the device, without which the smartphone or tablet will not work correctly.

To get root rights, use third-party programs, such as root Explorer or Root App Delete. They can be downloaded from Google Play for free and without worrying about the safety of your mobile device.

Even though Android hasn't given users the ability to uninstall system apps, it's possible to "hide" them. If you have enough free space on your device and you just don't want to clog the workbar with extra icons, just use this feature.

In order to put the application into "sleep mode", you need to open it through the "Applications" item in the "Settings" and click on the "Disable" button.

If you later want to return this application, it is included in the same place, in the "Applications" item, just scroll the screen to the right several times.

It seemed to me that removing programs on Android is an elementary process, however, as it turned out, users have quite a few questions related to this and they concern not only the removal of pre-installed system applications, but also simply downloaded to the phone or tablet for all the time its use.

Every Android phone or tablet comes with a whole set of preinstalled apps, many of which you never use. It would be logical to want to remove such applications.

There are two options (not counting the installation of alternative firmware), if you want to remove any system non-removable applications from the phone or from the menu:

  1. Disable the application - this does not require root access and in this case the application stops working (and does not start automatically), disappears from all application menus, however, in fact, remains in the memory of the phone or tablet and can always be re-enabled.
  2. Delete the system application - this requires root access, the application is really removed from the device and frees up memory. If other Android processes depend on this application, errors may occur.

For novice users, I strongly recommend using the first option: this will avoid possible problems.

Disabling system apps

Done, the specified application will disappear from the menu and will not work. In the future, if you need to turn it back on, go to the application settings and open the "Disabled" list, select the one you need and click the "Enable" button.

Removing a system application

In order to remove system applications from Android, you will need root access to the device and a file manager that can use such access. As far as root access is concerned, I recommend finding instructions for obtaining it specifically for your device, but there are also universal simple methods, for example - (although this application is reported that it sends some data to its developers).

Of the file managers with root support, I recommend the free ES Explorer (ES Explorer, you can download it for free from Google Play).

After installing ES Explorer, click the menu button at the top left (not included in the screenshot), and turn on the Root Explorer item. After confirming the action, go to the settings and in the APPs item in the ROOT-rights section, enable the items "Back up data" (preferably, to save backups of remote system applications, you can specify the storage location yourself) and the item "Uninstall apk automatically".

After all the settings are done, just go to the root folder of the device, then system / app and delete the apk of the system applications that you want to remove. Be careful and only delete what you know you can delete without consequences.

Note: if I'm not mistaken, when uninstalling Android system apps, ES Explorer also clears the associated data and cache folders by default, however, if the goal is to free up space on the device's internal memory, you can clear the cache and data through the app settings first, and then delete it.

If an app or game on your android device has been deleted (on purpose or unintentionally), you may want to bring it back. You can restore a deleted application on Android with a few simple steps.

But let's first look at possible reasons for deletion:

  • Accidental deletion of a program or game.
  • The application was removed on purpose, and you eventually decided to restore it, but do not remember its name.
  • The smartphone or tablet was restored to factory settings, which led to the removal of all installed programs.
  • Virus exposure is one of the main causes of application file corruption.
  • Antivirus software that has permission to modify other applications and their data may remove any files or program components if it considers them suspicious.

How to get back a deleted app on an Android smartphone or tablet

1. First of all, you need to open the Google Play app on your device and go to the main page.

2. In the upper left corner, click the button in the form of three lines.

4. Click on the "All" tab.

Here you will see a list of applications that have ever been installed on your device. Installed applications will be labeled "Installed" or "Update" next to them. Removed apps will be labeled "Free" or offer a purchase if the app is paid.

Apps associated with your Google Play account will be sorted by their download time. Those. the most recent apps and games you have installed will be at the top, and your first programs will be at the bottom of the list.

5. Select the desired application or game and install.

If you can't find the app you need in the list, make sure you're using the same account that was the primary account when you installed the program in the past.

Also, the reason for the absence of the application in the installation history may be the removal of it from Google Play for all users. In this case, you can restore the program only by downloading the apk file from a third-party resource.

The essence of this method for recovering deleted Android applications is to find and reinstall programs. For more advanced backup and restore, you can use special programs such as App Backup & Restore.

About a year ago, I ran into the problem that applications disappear on my Android tablet after turning off the tablet.
Those. it happens like this. I download the apk file with the game, there are no viruses. I install, everything is played and launched. I turn off the tablet, then turn it on and there is no application.
I'm going to Settings->Apps->App Management, and there, instead of the installed game, only its name is dangling com.game.name and the size of this file is several kilobytes, although the game weighs 10 megabytes.

I found a solution to the problem a long time ago, I never got around to printing it.

The whole answer to the question was just that after installation, the size of the game file is smaller than the size of the apk file from which we installed it.

Immediately after installing the game, go Settings->Apps->App Management and find in the list of applications installed on the phone the one you installed. We click on it. We look and see that the size of the application is only a few kilobytes.

Where did everything else go? I don't know and haven't found out yet. Although let me remind you that the game works properly until the device is turned off.
We have a button Move to phone. We press it and wait for the application to move to the permanent memory of the phone.
Turn off the phone and turn it on again - that's it! The application is not missing and starts normally.

What to do in this situation? - Follow these instructions - install the program, go to Application management and transferred it to the phone's memory. You won't do anything else. It's good that my tablet has 4 gigabytes of memory.

Really nothing at all? What to do if there is not enough memory on the device and the only option is to install applications on a memory card.
There are two more methods that can help in very rare cases.

Method one - works on my phone.
I also have an Android phone and transferring applications from a memory card to a phone after installation is not an option, because. the phone has only 256 megabytes of memory.
I found the solution to the problem simply - I put the memory card in a higher class. I had a memory card of an ancient year of release, but it seemed to be class 4. I put a class 6 memory card. And the applications stopped disappearing. However, later, when I had to return to the old class 4 memory card, I solved the problem with the missing applications like this - immediately after turning on the phone I went to Settings->Apps->App Management and selected the Third-Party tab - all applications there looked like com.game.name with black and white icons and started to drive the list of applications up and down 2-3 times and some applications began to restore their icon, and after 10 minutes all other applications were restored and already everything worked as it should. But on the tablet where this problem originally occurred, this method does not work. Those. Works on phone, not on tablet.

Method two - if there is a newer firmware for your device, try updating your device with it, if nothing worked and you do not like any of the methods I have described to solve the problem - take your device to a warranty service center.

In this practical guide, I will show you how to uninstall an app on Android in various ways. You can do this without harming the OS. You will also learn how to remove system (standard) and. How to uninstall them from internal memory or sd card.

The best programs for uninstallation

Video instruction:

Why delete apps from Android?

  • The phone slows down, slowly responds to user actions. As a result, working with the phone is inconvenient, access to important functions slows down.
  • There is not enough memory on the mobile device. This happens not always due to the small amount of RAM, but because unnecessary applications are installed on the phone. Because of this, side and unnecessary functions run in the background.
  • By deleting unnecessary applications, you will focus on the most useful (of the remaining ones) and will not be distracted by unnecessary ones.
  • Some developers introduce advertising into their products - a popup screen is displayed on the phone screen or lockscreen (lock screen), which cannot be removed in any way except by uninstalling the “culprit”.

Reference. Uninstallation is the removal of a mobile application (or computer program) from the operating system and storage device.

How to remove unwanted apps from your phone

Through the standard Application Manager

You can find a section with a list of installed programs on Android at: Settings - Applications.

Toolkit of the standard Android application manager

In the "Applications" section, you can find out how much space a particular application occupies, where it is installed - in the internal memory or on the SD card. The bottom of the screen shows how much phone memory is free and used. By clicking on the line with the name, you will find out the cache size and data consumption in the OS.

Applications installed by the user can be stopped (i.e. unloaded from memory), deleted or transferred from the phone's memory to the sd card (which is useful if you need to free up the phone's memory).

In the SD memory card tab - a list of applications installed on the phone's sd card.

In the Running section - useful information about how long a particular program has been running, how much RAM is being consumed. Thus, if an application is wasting resources, it can and should be removed.

It should be noted that the standard Android toolkit is not suitable for mass removal of android applications, although it is useful for a single removal of a particular package.

Uninstall apps with CCleaner

CCleaner is a simple yet effective utility for uninstalling apps on Android. An intuitive interface allows you to remove everything unnecessary in a few clicks: applications and cache (sometimes occupying hundreds of megabytes), apk installers and temporary files, and other “garbage”. The full version of the app is free, but contains ads.

The sequence of actions to remove applications using CCleaner:

  1. Download and install the utility
  2. Through the main menu, go to the "Application Management" section.
  3. The tabs are distributed installed, system and disabled applications. Select the desired section.
  4. By clicking on the line with the application, information is available: name, size of the program and cache, installation date, version, etc.
  5. Select the items and click on the Recycle Bin icon to remove programs from Android.
  6. Click "Delete" again and confirm the operation.

Uninstalling apps through CCleaner for Android

Through CCleaner, you can remove applications in batch mode, and not one by one, as the standard manager suggests.

CCleaner is suitable for regular Android cleaning and uninstalling apps from your phone. It is not possible to remove standard Android applications (such as Google Drive, Gmail) in CCleaner - neither with root access nor without it.

Clean Master - remove stock and custom applications

Clean Master is another program for comprehensive cleaning of the phone from garbage: temporary files, duplicates and leftover data that one or another application is “too lazy” to clean up after itself. Clean Master does not specialize in uninstalling programs, but it does include a module called Application Manager.

Batch mode for uninstalling applications on the phone is available here. In addition, you can manage apk packages and move applications from a memory card. This will help reallocate space and clean up your phone's internal memory.

Removing Android system applications in Clean Master is not available, you can only uninstall user programs - installed by yourself.

Removing system applications through System App Remover Pro

Removing Android system applications will help speed up the OS. However, it only makes sense to do this if you clearly know what can be deleted. To do this, you will need root rights and System App Remover.

Remove unwanted apps from your phone

Through the System Applications section, you can remove what ordinary managers do not allow you to do. However, we advise you to follow the recommendations of the uninstaller and deactivate only applications that are marked “Can be removed”. Otherwise, you can disable the Android OS or provoke system errors.

To remove Android system components:

  1. In the System App Remover menu, go to the "System Applications" section;
  2. In the list, tick the items to be deleted;
  3. Click the "Delete" button.

By the way, this method will help remove non-removable applications hidden in the standard Android manager, available only in safe mode. For example, adware and spyware.

Advice. If your goal is to free up space in your phone's memory, we strongly advise against deleting system applications. It's better to buy a capacious memory card and install all applications on it.

System App Remover requires payment for its full-featured work in the pro version (the free edition displays ads at the bottom of the window). Symbolic $ 1.88 gives you access to the following features:

  • Management of system and user applications;
  • Move any installed application to sd memory card or internal phone memory;
  • Use as a Phone Basket ;
  • Allows you to remove Android system applications;
  • Batch uninstallation mode: you can check the boxes of only the necessary applications and remove them in a few clicks.
  • Flexible management of standard and custom applications: sorting, filtering by name, package name and path, application search and more.

What apps can be safely uninstalled on Android

We will note the applications that it makes sense to remove in order to increase the performance of the mobile device.

  1. Remove social media clients. In particular, the Facebook / Messenger app consumes a lot of memory on Android, with you constantly being distracted by notifications.
  2. Feel free to remove unnecessary user programs - those that you installed yourself through Google Play or by downloading the apk file from an unverified source.
  3. Uninstall antiviruses. It would seem a controversial decision, but if you are confident in the security of your mobile device or you do not have a special need for constant protection, remove the antivirus.
  4. You can remove optimizers and cleaners. Programs like CleanMaster and DU Battery Saver are useful on an occasional basis. Over time, they begin to bother and hang like a dead weight in the Android RAM.
  5. Games are not only the main time-killers: they take up a significant amount of megabytes in the memory of a mobile device.

Final tip: Install only the apps you need on your phone

Keep only the apps you need on your phone. Try alternatives, experiment, but always control what is installed.

If you install any program through the Google Play application, be sure to test it and make a conclusion: leave the program or delete it. On the one hand, this approach requires time and patience, on the other hand, you save your nerves. A phone loaded with dozens of apps won't run as fast as it did when you bought it.

Answers to questions from readers

I can not update applications on my phone, they write that there is not enough memory. But I deleted some of them, except for the standard ones, and still I can’t download and install anything. There are very few programs on the phone, and it is impossible to do anything. What to do, why applications are not installed on the phone?

Answer. The first tip is to buy a capacious sd card. This is the easiest and fastest way to solve the problem of missing memory on your phone. No need to delete applications and constantly clear the memory to “carve out” space in the internal storage.

We also advise you to carefully read the guide on how to uninstall applications on Android. Perhaps you need not only the Android application manager, but something more flexible, like the uninstaller from the developer Jumobile (see above). It will allow you to remove even hidden applications on your phone, as well as Chinese or system ones.

I get notifications on my phone (Sony Xperia M4 Aqua) that there is not enough memory on the phone. I decided to transfer some applications to the SD card and leave only the necessary applications for Android in the internal memory. A little time passed and the notifications began to come again, there was no more space on the SD card and I decided to clear it out of my mind, forgetting that I once transferred applications there, and now the icons of these applications are on my screen, but I can’t enter them , and the SD card icon is lit on top of these icons. And the most important thing is that I can't download the programs again and I can't delete the application from my phone.

Answer. All applications transferred to the sd card (or even deleted user applications) can be easily returned - just go to Google Play and find this or that program for Android through the search, then click on the Install button.

You can transfer applications to the sd card as follows:

  1. Go to Settings - Applications (Application Manager).
  2. Go to SD Card or USB Drive
  3. Find in the list the application that you want to transfer to the sd card
  4. Confirm action

By the way, removing unnecessary or transferring Android system applications in this way is impossible, this will require third-party programs like Jumobile.

I installed a memory card on my smartphone, I want to download the application. It does not install, writes: delete applications, there is not enough memory. The phone's memory is full. How to remove unwanted apps from Android?

Answer. If you wish, you can remove unnecessary applications using CCleaner, CleanMaster or Jumobile's application manager. The same utilities, by the way, will allow you to clear free space by deleting the cache, temporary files and other unnecessary data on the phone.

If the system memory is full of applications, it is better to transfer them to the sd card (I wrote about how to do this above in the text).

Deleted some program on the phone. On the screen (in the lower left corner) the inscription “Safe Mode” was displayed. Some applications are no longer visible. I downloaded the Undelete recovery program, I can’t log in, but this program is installed in the Play Store. What could be the program that is causing problems after uninstalling it?

Answer. You may have deleted a system application on Android or an installed program conflicts with your phone. Restarting the device helps exit safe mode. If after rebooting you still enter this mode, try turning off the phone and turning it on with the power button and volume down held down at the same time.

Tip: do not delete system or user applications on Android without knowing their purpose. Deletion can lead to serious consequences: at best, you will have to reflash the phone.
