The other day, the editorial office of KTV-LUCH began to receive letters from residents with a request to sort out strange calls that looked like another type of fraud. In particular, the townspeople complained about frequent phone calls, whose numbers indicated belonging to an exotic state.

- At different times, calls are made from numbers +248901742 and +248901685. My friends have experienced the same. The calls themselves remain in the missed list. When you try to call back, an answering machine with a female voice answers. What is this happening? asks one of our interlocutors.

As noted by those who applied, no funds were withdrawn from their mobile accounts. However, they stressed that the calls were made, including at night.

As it turned out, entire forums have appeared on the Internet where people talk about the circumstances under which they encountered calls from these numbers. Some indicated that they received calls to all subscriber numbers that the family has. Others complained that after they called back to an unusual number, a certain amount of money was withdrawn from them. At the same time, the geography of the "victims" is striking - Bashkiria, the Volga region, etc.

It is worth saying that a request on the Web for these numbers gives information about their belonging to the Seychelles, an island state in East Africa.

As a KTV-LUCH correspondent was told in the press service of the Syzranskoye Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, there have not yet been any complaints from residents regarding these cases. The police explained that there is no fraud, as such. Law enforcement officers ask residents of Syzran to be more vigilant and, if no calls from relatives from unknown numbers are expected, do not give in to curiosity and do not call back these numbers.
