Printers from the Japanese company Brother are in great demand due to their ease of use, reasonable price and excellent functionality. An important advantage of these devices is that in some models you can easily refill the cartridge again. Because the price of new consumables from official retailers is considerable, which makes users think about how to refill cartridge Brother TN-2275 / TN-2235 without damaging your wallet. This can be done in only two ways - either on your own or with the help of employees of a specialized Miraxprint service center.

To calculate how significant the savings will be, let's say that official retailers in Moscow sell the mentioned consumable for several thousand rubles. Miraxprint specialists will be able to refill cartridges / from 500 rubles. But some users do not want to pay even such a small amount. Then they will be interested in the instruction, which will be given below.

Note! The described algorithm will be relevant for models HL-2220 / 2230 / 2240 / 2242 / 2250 / 2270 / 2280, DCP-7060 / 7065 / 7070 MFC-7360 / 7362 / 7460 / 7860, Fax 2845 / 2940.

List of tools for refilling cartridges Brother TN-2275 / TN-2235

In order to independently recycle the consumable for the above devices, we will need:

  • tweezers or tongs with sharp tips;
  • compatible toner model;
  • screwdriver with a flat end.

Instructions for refilling cartridges Brother TN-2275 / TN-2235

Step #1. Using a vacuum cleaner, clean the outside of the cartridge, then open the box. Now shake out the toner residue. Clean it with an air jet or use a vacuum cleaner. (During cleaning, close the gears (wheels) by hand). On the side where the wheels are missing, you need to unscrew the two screws. This will remove the two plastic handles. By the way, to pull out a small handle, it should be turned.

Step #2. Now you should lift the hinges, which will allow you to pull the panel from the drum axis. From the side where the gears are located, unscrew the screw and pull it out.

Step #3. The wheels have springs. Here you need to be careful, since it depends on their correct location whether the consumable is suitable for the device. New cartridges have ejection gears. In the photo you can see all their types. On the TN420 and TN450 models, they may be completely different. Now it is necessary to dismantle the black plastic part from the shaft axis. This can be done by pressing on the loop located on the back.

Step number 4. Pull out the E-ring and carefully remove the gears that remain. Be especially careful with them and don't lose the springs!

Step number 5. Gently press the latch located on the side where the wheels are. Then it is necessary to turn the felling gate upwards. This will allow you to pull out the developing roller.

Step number 6. Use a screwdriver to unscrew the 2 screws and pull out the dominant blade. By the way, it is not attached with seals, so it is easy to remove it for cleaning. Clean the compartment, seals, and shaft thoroughly to ensure that there is no toner residue on them.

Step number 7. Look at the seals located on the magnetic shaft. If they are very compressed, then fluff them with a flat-end screwdriver. Wipe the blade using a lint-free cloth. It is very easy to bend, so be extra careful. Now put it back and secure with two screws.

Step #8-9 Clean the developer roller with the same cloth as the blade and a special cleaning agent for this part from a Japanese manufacturer. No other chemicals need to be used. Now mount the developer roller back and turn the shutter towards the blade until it clicks into place. Install the panel on the side where the gear is. Make sure the latches are closed.

Now you need to clean the gears from the remnants of the toner. If their axles are too dirty, then clean them as much as possible and replace the grease with white lithium. Now insert the shaft wheel, E-ring and black part in the order described. Make sure the gears are working properly. Now install the spring. In the photo you can see how to do it.

Step number 10. Depending on the design of the consumable (we wrote about the features of some models in step 3), install the gears. It is important that their teeth do not move during installation. The gear is controlled by a spring and will spin when you turn on the device. It is necessary to put the protective panel in place and tighten it with 2 bolts.

Step #11-12. On the side where there are no wheels, insert the plastic handles, then tighten them with screws. Install the handle that is smaller at the very end. To latch it, you need to turn it from the bottom up. It remains only to fill the consumable with the amount of toner that you need.

Close the cap and remove the toner dust from the cartridge. All you have to do is install the roller guard cover.

With this guide, you will quickly understand how to refill the Brother TN-2275 cartridge with your own hands.

Today's topic is devoted to refilling the TN-2275/2090 cartridge, replacing the drum and cleaning the corotron (message on the machine - drum error) DR-2275. This DRUM cartridge works on Brother DCP - 7057/7060/7065/7070, HL - 2132/2200/2230/2240/2250/2270, MFC-7360/7860, FAX - 2845/2940. From this list, only two devices - DCP-7057 and HL-2132 use the TN-2090, and the rest use the TN-2275 toner cartridge.

These cartridges do not have chips, and the printout counter is stored in the printer's memory and is reset when a new cartridge is installed or a refilled cartridge is checked. Starter cartridges (included with a new printer) do not have a checkbox, so some cartridge refill centers ask you to carry the printer with the cartridge for refilling, or offer a reset flag with a side cover for an additional fee. Devices in which TN-2275 is installed count 2600 prints and ask to replace the cartridge, for TN-2090 the count goes to 1000 prints.

Well, let's start with the gas station.

After you take out the DRUM cartridge, you need to separate them. Click on the green lever and raise the TN part.

Here, as in any other cartridge with a metal doctor blade, it is imperative to clean this dispenser. We unscrew the dosage and remove it.

Thoroughly wipe and clean the edge of the dispenser. I wipe with acetone with a cotton swab.

We put the dosing blade back and fix it with two bolts.

On the right side of the toner cartridge there is a hole for filling the toner closed with a stopper. Open the cork and pour the toner into it. If you have not refilled this cartridge before, empty out the old toner first to avoid mixing toners from different manufacturers.

According to the site rashodnika (my assistant from the very beginning of my career), you can pour about 50-60 grams per 1000 prints and 140-150 grams per 2600. I myself fall asleep to the full (2 cm to the top) so I won’t tell you the exact number in grams.

We close the plug and scroll the rubber toner transfer roller - we check for uniform application of the toner. If the toner does not apply evenly, or there are very noticeable streaks, or one side is paler than the other, then it does not hurt to remove the rubber roller and clean it.

On the left side, unscrew the two bolts and remove the cover.

Under the cover, remove the gears, hook the plastic retainer on top and pull it out.

In the same place, on the other side of the side wall, turn the latch, lift and pull out the rubber shaft.

I wipe it with acetone, you can wash it in warm water with dishwashing detergent.

When cleaned and dried, put the shaft in place, snap the latch and latch.

We put on all the gears, if there is a reset flag, then set it with the number “1” up, as shown in the photo.

Below in the photo you will see how the flag should stand if you look at it with the lid screwed on. When the arrow on the side cover matches the number 2, then this cartridge has already been installed in the printer and it will not be able to reset the counter.

If the arrow looks at one, then the cartridge was disassembled, refilled, the position of the flag was changed and it can be safely put into the printer for further use.

Screw on the side cover.

Below in the photo you will see the side cover of the starter cartridge, and the purchased side cover with a flag and a spring.

TN is ready to go.

Cleaning DR-2275. Drum replacement

This drum has two problems.

Drum error, open cover and slide slider along image drum .

The printer issues this error when the corotron is clogged. The corotron consists of a filament that supplies the charge to the drum and a grid that distributes the charge evenly. If the thread becomes dirty, then you can drive the slider, and it will clean the thread, after which the error will disappear. But sometimes the slider does not help, but it happens in cases where the corotron grating is dirty.

On the printed sheet, the defect is repeated four times on the side - this indicates the wear of the drum.

Let's start with the disassembly and cleaning.

The corona and photoconductor are held on a metal axis fixed with lock washers. Remove the lock washer on the right side.

We extend the axis to the left and on the right side we take out the plastic washer.

Now we can raise the corotron and free the drum.

We remove the photo shaft and the spongy shaft located under it. The sponge shaft can be pressed out from the outside.

We clean the body and roller, and then put everything in place, only with a new photoconductor.

By looking at the corotron, you can see how heavily contaminated it is. I will also clean it with acetone, since coked toner is very difficult to clean with weaker solutions. We clean thoroughly to the shine of the metal.

Now you can collect the remaining parts. We put the corotron and slide the axle on the left side.

On the right side we put a plastic and lock washer.

For complete happiness, you can drive the slider a couple more times, cleaning the corotron thread.

We put TN in DR, after which it can be loaded into the printer.

Brother TN-2275 Cartridge Compatibility

The list of printers and MFPs in which you can install the cartridge is given below:

Why clients work with us

Often customers are afraid that after refilling the cartridge will print poorly or stain the machine with toner. Even worse if the supplier refuses to solve problems.

With over 20 years of experience and serving over 10,000 customers, our company does not allow such situations. If a problem arises, we always solve it quickly and with minimal cost for their clients. That is why thousands of companies stay with us for many years.

Can it be even cheaper?

You can make it cheaper if you use cheaper components and use less toner. It is unlikely that this will please our customers, so we do not make exceptions and work according to our internal standards - only good consumables and 120% toner.

Why fill up the toner more than the norm? A refilled cartridge always consumes more of it, because. most of it goes to the mining bunker. In order for the Brother TN-2275 cartridge to print at least 2600 copies, you need to increase the charge. Which is what we always do.

for Brother printers HL-2240R, HL-2250DNR, DCP-7060DR,

DCP-7065DNR, MFC-7360NR and MFC-7860DWR

This manual is provided for informational purposes only and is not a manual for refilling Brother TN-2235 and TN-2275 cartridges. The author does not claim the correctness of the actions and categorically recommends that users, if necessary, buy a new Brother TN-2235 and TN-2275 cartridge, and not try to refill it on their own. In addition, the author disclaims any responsibility if, despite his warning, you still decide to use this manual as a guide for self-refueling, which led to the damage of the cartridge, printer, MFP or KMA.

The starter cartridge does not have a page counter reset mechanism. This is because the printer's page counter is set to zero at the factory. It makes sense to refill such a cartridge only if you have another cartridge that has a counter reset gear, or you know how to reset the counter in the printer manually (in most Brother printers, this trick may not work).

On the TN-2235 cartridge, the reset gear has 3 petals, on the TN-2275 cartridge it has 2.

Remove the plug and thoroughly clean any remaining toner from the cartridge hopper.

Remove two screws and remove guides.

Rotate the smaller guide to release the mount.

Release the two latches securing the transfer roller and remove it.

On the other side, unscrew the two screws and remove the cover.

The starter cartridge lacks a reset gear and a special spring.

On regular (not starter) cartridges, they look like this.

Remove the transfer roller holder by releasing the latch on the inside.

Remove the lock washer.

Remove all gears and special spring.

On the gear side, press the tab on the transfer roller lock and turn it.

Remove the transfer roller.

Remove 2 screws and remove the dispenser blade.

Remove any toner residue from the camshaft and foam pads.

If the felt pads on the transfer roller are stuck together, you can try fluffing them a bit with a flathead screwdriver or an awl.

Wipe the dispenser blade with a dry, clean cloth and replace it with two screws.

Wipe the transfer roller with a dry, clean cloth, and reinstall it so that the lock is on the gear side and is in a vertical position. Rotate the latch toward the pick blade until it snaps into place.

Install the transfer roller mount on the cap side, and make sure the latch is in place.

Install the transfer roller gear and lock washer. Then install the remaining gears in the order shown. Make sure the gears rotate properly.

Install the transfer roller holder.

Install the special spring in the indicated position.

Bring the gear with the pointer to the indicated position.

Install the reset gear depending on your TN-2235 (TN-420) or TN-2275 (TN-450) cartridge model.

The starter cartridge has a locked toner cartridge lever.

In order to rebuild a starter cartridge, the refill ID gear and cap must be replaced. TN-2235 has three plastic levers on the gear, TN-2275 has two plastic levers.

Vacuum the outer surface of the cartridge with a special vacuum cleaner. Remove the plug covering the toner filling hole. Remove the remaining toner from the cartridge with a special vacuum cleaner. Be careful not to touch the gear side of the cartridge.

On the non-gear side of the cartridge, remove the two screws. Remove the two plastic sides.

Small plastic side, must be turned to open the lock.

Remove the plate with the axis of attachment to the photoconductor by lifting it over the two latches as shown in the figure. Set the fee aside.

On the gear side of the cartridge, unscrew the two screws and remove the sidewall.

The new cartridge installation gear is installed along with the spring, which must be correctly installed. The starter cartridge does not have this gear and must be fitted with a new side cover and gear.

Remove the black plastic holder for the magnetic shaft axis. To do this, press the black plastic tab from the inside.

Remove the metal lock washer.

Remove all remaining gears. Do not lose the spring to activate the refilled cartridge.

From the side of the cartridge with gears, near the axis of the magnetic shaft, press the protrusion of the white plastic lever - the magnetic shaft lock with a thin screwdriver and turn the lock.

Remove the magnetic shaft.

Loosen the two screws of the toner alignment blade on the magnetic roller and remove it. Unlike previous cartridges, the blade in this cartridge is removable for cleaning.

Use a vacuum cleaner to completely remove the toner from the toner bottle, the toner supply foam roller, and the foam pads of the toner leveling blade.

Check the condition of the magnetic roller felt pads. If the pads are tight, fluff them with a watch screwdriver.

Gently wipe the toner dispense blade on the magnetic roller with a lint-free cloth. Be careful not to damage the blade. Install the blade and tighten the two screws.

Clean the magnetic roller with a lint-free cloth and a special Brother magnetic roller cleaner. Do not use any other chemicals than Brother Special Cleaner. Install the magnetic shaft in its place, with the long axis towards the gears, with the white plastic latch raised. Rotate the lock towards the blade until it snaps into place.

Install the magnetic roller holder on the non-gear side of the cartridge. Make sure the black plastic latch is in place.

Clean the gears, make sure there is no toner on the gears. Check gear axles for grease. If the grease is dirty, clean it and lubricate with white lithium grease. Install the magnetic shaft gear, retaining ring, black magnetic shaft retainer and other gears in the order shown in the figure. Make sure the gears rotate properly.

Set the refill ID spring to the correct position as shown.

Install the gear with the pointer in the desired position according to the figure.

Depending on which cartridge is being remanufactured, install the appropriate refill gear as shown in the figure for TN-2235 (TN-420) and for TN-2275 (TN-45).

The teeth of the gears are not engaged at the initial moment. After installation in the printer and actuation of the spring - the gears are installed in the working position.

Install the side cover and tighten the two screws as shown in the illustrations. TN-2235 first and TN-2275 next. Pay attention to the black arrow on the side cover and white arrow on the refueling gear. They must be aligned with the points.

On the non-gear side of the cartridge, install the two black plastic levers and tighten the screws. The small lever is installed last and must be rotated so that it can be locked.

Fill the toner tank for TN-2235 with 50 grams, for TN-2275 with 75 grams. type of toner Brother 2270.

Close the cap of the toner hopper. Clean the toner cartridge.

Install the protective orange cover of the magnetic roller.
