The 7 best Russian language travel blogs are my TOP 7 travel blogs that I watch and read on a regular basis. This is not a rating, these are my preferences, which I am happy to share with you.

Do travel bloggers read the blogs of other travelers? Believe me, they read. I have 20 travel blogs in my bookmarks, and I periodically open each of them, scroll through, read something, watch something.

What is a good travel blog? Everything is very simple. A good travel blog is not a rewrite, not a contracted copywriter, not a dry statement of facts about places of interest. A good travel blog is personal impressions and emotions of the blog author.

Personally, it still impresses me very much when a blog has a face. That is, when I see who maintains this blog and who shares their impressions, advice, and experience. If I don’t see the author’s photo, then the blog for me suddenly immediately becomes faceless, dry, its rating for me falls radically, falls, falls, falls 🙂

That's why, by sharing my 7 best travel blogs with you, I'll show you who runs these blogs.

And if these are the TOP-7 best travel blogs, then all these bloggers are the best Russian-speaking travel bloggers, according to my version, of course 🙂

Everything-everything-everything about Kaliningrad– what to see, where to sleep, where to eat, what to buy. The author of the blog - Irina - first visited Kaliningrad in the summer of 2015, then came to Kaliningrad several times on vacation, and in the summer of 2017 she moved to Kaliningrad for a permanent residence for an indefinite period.

The blog with great love, surprising and unusual for native Kaliningraders, talks about even the simplest little things that seem to be in sight, but which Kaliningraders do not pay attention to. This look is very refreshing! So if you are going to, be sure to check out the blog rina-rina.ru .

Young Omsk residents Stas and Anya do not just talk about their travels - short and long, but inspire them to travel! Asia, Caucasus, Russia and former Soviet republics. A lot of guys write about where they seem to live now. If you are thinking about whether you should move at least for the long Russian winter months somewhere where it is warm and the sea, then you will like the blog tuda-suda.net .

A blog about the travels of an amateur cook from Alexei Onegin. In the best traditions of LiveJournal, if someone else remembers that there was such a LiveJournal, it is inconvenient to read, because the format and design of the blog is a little big and sweeping, but there are interesting photos and stories. Cuisines of the peoples of the world fun to browse the blog. True, the blog is a little faceless, because I don’t see the one who leads it. It's a pity, of course. Anyway. In short, be that as it may, the blog is in my bookmarks and I look there periodically.

The best travel blogs.

Top personal blogs of independent travelers in order of my subjective interest. My criteria: a minimum of any sugar and water and as many real details and life as possible.

- My blog.
@AnnaTamila- instagram.
Photo reports, guides and stories from different countries places.

Blog of Vadim Makhorov
@Makhorov- instagram.
A blog about unrealistically cool climbing trips, mainly on the most inaccessible rooftops in the world. Considering my penchant for such places and the steepness of the execution, this is for me the top of the tops. Now the guys are making vids, from which you start grabbing with sweaty palms for the surrounding supports (mice, table, armchairs).

YouTube channel Rogue Fisheye This is just the opening of the era, terribly cool. Dude travels without money and phone different cities and interact with different people.

Blog Art. Lebedev
Everything ingenious is simple. About travel and a lot of banter.

The blog of Sergei Balovin, who in 2009 began to travel without money, painting portraits in exchange for meals, gifts or tickets for any type of transport.

Public VK Dharma Tramps: vk.com/dharma_bums - many travelers publish their travel notes and photos at once. Lots of real and interesting travels and blogs.

Sergey Dol's blog: sergeydolya.livejournal.com
This is not a guide, but a blog about the life of such a normal traveler, far from being a downshifter.

Alternative guide: altertravel.ru
This is a cool site with points of interest on the map. Started from one person's blog, although now there are many authors. For traveling around Russia, this is useful thing number 1.

Blog of Oleg Lazhechnikov life-trip.ru
I love this blog for its reality and usefulness. There are a lot of useful things for travelers and the real everyday life of real life is not hidden, as is often the case in blogs.

Blog about Norway: www.68north.com and more specifically about the Lofontaine Islands, by American photographer Cody Duncan in English. All amazing points with descriptions, coordinates and photos have been handed over at any time of the year.

Sinus Blog(Igor Sokolov): sinus.vl.ru
The cult blog of a biker traveler.

Krasnoyarsk from above: feelek.livejournal.com
Sergey Filin's blog. Very beautiful and strong about Krasnoyarsk from a height (and not only).

Kotovsky website: kotovski.net
About travel and cycling. Lots of Europe and different countries.

Ilya Varlamov's blog: varlamov.me/ru/tags/puteshestvie
Travel and social topics.

Photographer Mikhail Korostelev compiled a list of his “blogger discoveries”. Don't be surprised at the large number of photographers on this list who are into underwater photography. In this article, let's talk about popular travel video channels on Youtube - what I personally watch and whom I recommend. Some channels are dedicated not only to travel, but also just videos from life. Immediately, I note that the order of blogs is not according to importance or popularity, but randomly. So let's get started:

TOP travel blog videos on Youtube

Very entertaining channel and presenter. Filmed professionally and broadcast on television channels(the Ukrainian project itself). Many seasons have already been filmed: Vietnam, Indonesia, Africa, India, Cambodia, Cuba, Mexico, etc. Everything is very interesting, fascinating and shown from the inside, not the tourist side. The video of the World Inside Out channel is decent in terms of timing - about an hour, but it looks in one breath.

The presenter Dmitry Komarov himself is very simple, positive and kind - it's a pleasure to watch. The way they built a tree house in Indonesia with a wild tribe - generally something with something - is very atmospheric, which can be revisited.

The world inside out also began to be shown on the Russian channel "Friday" - so the video is available not only on YouTube.

Number of subscribers Youtube channel: over 62,000

A growing channel. Initially, the project developed as a reference book and guide to interesting places - useful routes were given, recommendations were given for visiting places. And recently, the blog has turned into a more entertaining bias - videos have been recorded directly from travel in real time, day after day. This format is more suitable for the public.
A lot of travel in Asian countries: Thailand, Malaysia, Bali, Philippines, India and a bunch of other interesting countries.

Goodbye normals - Travel around the world - https://www.youtube.com/user/goodbyenormals

A sensational reckless project that was highlighted even in the news on federal channels due to a not very good story with a quarrel between two protagonists of the video blog - Hannah and Nikita. I will not go into details, but the essence of the channel was to travel around the world on its own, with a delay on each of the continents for a long time and trains to various countries of this continent. I started watching this video blog from the series about India and Goa - Hannah and Nikita dragged on from the first episodes that I watched every issue of Goodbye normals with great interest.

Unfortunately, after the African season of Goodbye Normals, the guys started to quarrel, and by the time they traveled around South America, there was a well-known scandal - they broke up and Nikita continued traveling alone. The videos have lost their charm a little, the number of releases has decreased, but recently Nikita is returning to a good volume of episodes - it turns out interesting + he began to conduct interviews with various people adding translations - listening is interesting and informative.

Number of Youtube channel subscribers: more than 35,000

The guys travel a lot and make very high quality videos about their travels. The feature of the channel is the use of shooting from the air on a helicopter - they were one of the first to use this tool, which won a large army of fans. The quality of shooting and editing is a huge work and a feature of this channel. An interesting trip to central India also brought popularity - a lot of thrash, indescribable shots and an Indian atmosphere.

Number of Youtube channel subscribers: more than 36,000

Flying Penguin Adventure https://www.youtube.com/user/FlypengsTV

Pasha and Tanya travel together in Asian countries: mainly in Thailand and Bali, filming it all on video. One of the latest grandiose projects was hitchhiking to China from Moscow - a really crazy idea that was interesting to watch: moving between cities in Russia with truckers, various stories, beautiful views, adventure in China, etc. It's interesting and easy to watch. The guys from the Flying Penguins are very positive - I recommend watching and subscribing. I love this blog precisely for the video from Thailand - they have traveled a lot and annually gather groups for independent travel in Asia - a great idea.

In the summer of 2015, Tanya from the flying penguins left for the USA, so there were no new videos from Asia - it’s a little sad, but watching videos in the stone jungle without Pasha is not so dynamic and interesting. I hope that new adventures in exotic countries are not far off. Unfortunately, by 2017, the guys abandoned the channel, although they live in Vietnam. It's a pity.

Number of Youtube channel subscribers: more than 13,000

Probably the most popular travel show right now. A non-standard approach and high-quality stories made the program very popular on YouTube and on TV - now the program is shown on the Pyatnitsa TV channel. Many presenters add variety to the programs, but one of the best, in my opinion, is Andrey Bednyakov. In recent seasons, the broadcast Orel and Reshka has gone crazy or the format has simply become boring, but in any case, excellent work.

Number of Youtube channel subscribers: more than 400,000

A popular channel about the trips of Max Golopolosov, the host of the +100500 show. It is difficult to call this format educational and about travel in general, since it is more of a show and tomfoolery of a famous blogger. Not everyone will like it, especially in the commercials there is a mat. The channel is suitable for the younger generation who loves an informal approach.

Number of Youtube channel subscribers: more than 950,000

Alexander Kondrashov — https://www.youtube.com/user/Justdoit150gmail

Just a popular blogger who travels a lot. Some videos are interesting to watch, some are boring. It was interesting to see about cruise trips, spearfishing in Mauritius, etc. The purpose of the channel is still not educational videos about travel and routes, but entertainment content. It is also gaining popularity due to the use of a quadrocopter in filming, like the guys on their own, as well as a gyroscope. Alexander Kondrashov also breeds piranhas at home in an aquarium - sometimes it's interesting to watch this.

Number of Youtube channel subscribers: more than 166,000

Sergey Simonov — https://www.youtube.com/user/ssimonov100

The author of this channel is nicknamed the king of dislikes, as he shoots very controversial videos, but nevertheless he travels quite often around Europe, including on cruises. View from the point of view useful information this blog makes no sense, but you can take a look at how it is in Europe. Sergey Simonov often lives in Montenegro, so there are a lot of videos from there. In 2017, there were releases from the USA.

Number of Youtube channel subscribers: more than 280,000

This concludes the enumeration of helpful videos blogs on YouTube - of course, there are more, but these are the main ones in descending order of usefulness about travel. Everyone has their own TOP video channels about travel on Youtube - mine turned out like this. Among them there are both professional programs and amateur projects, which, in terms of information content and usefulness, are not inferior to television projects with large budgets.

The Primitive Technology channel has only about two dozen videos, but each of them has value. The author demonstrates in practice how to build a house, lay down a stove, make weapons, with nothing but bare hands. Please note that, unlike the creators of many commercial shows, this survivalist really knows a lot about his business.
