How can I delete stocks, game center, health, tips, calendar, videos, reminders, iBooks, notes, news, app Apple Watch and other pre-installed Apple stock apps from my iPad or iPhone ? And can I permanently uninstall other apps so that they are completely removed from my account iTunes?

We often get these questions; we all hate having unwanted app icons on iPad screens and iPhone. More seriously, unwanted apps are taking up space on your iPad or iPhone that your apps and media might need.

Apple has historically interfered iPhone owners and iPad to remove the apps that were installed on the devices: stocks, game center, etc. Starting January 5, 2016, this is the case, and officially you are still not allowed to remove the pre-installed Apple apps from your iPhone, or even hide their icons (although of course you can put it and other unwanted Apple gumpf in a folder on the screen by itself).

But there is hope. First, there are some tricks you can use to get around Apple's restrictions, although they are all imperfect in some way - some are temporary, some require you to jailbreak iPhone or iPad, others are handy workarounds, not real fixes. But Tim Cook noted that the company intends to relax its approach to this problem in the near future (in some pre-installed applications, if not all), and we will talk a little about these prospects in this article.

Here, here is how to remove, hide or otherwise get rid of unwanted apps and app icons from iPhone and iPad. We are currently running iOS 9 on our devices, but these methods work with any version of iOS going back to iOS 6 and even earlier; eagle-eyed readers have noticed that the screenshots come from different versions iOS, but the methods remain pretty much the same. We explain any situations in which the interface looks or behaves differently between different versions of iOS.

In addition to talking about deleting apps, we will briefly discuss methods for restoring apps that you have deleted, even if that app has been deleted from App Store.

How to Hide Any App on Your iPhone or iPad

A new trick has been discovered that allows you to hide any app on your iPhone or iPad, including, miraculously, those pre-installed Apple apps like Stocks, Newsstand or the Apple Watch app that were previously impossible to get rid of.

Here's how to make those unwanted apps empty:

1. Press and hold the icon of the app you want to hide until it appears and all other app icons start to shake. You are now in edit mode, which allows you to drag the icons to new positions or remove them by clicking the gray cross. (If it's a pre-installed app, unfortunately there won't be a gray cross.)

2. The unwanted application must be in the folder. If it's not already in one, drag its icon to the folder. If you don't have folders, just drag an icon on top of another and wait for the folder to be created.

(The trick will take longer if the folder contains many apps spread across multiple pages, so it might be easier to create a new folder containing only the apps you want to hide. In our example, we use a folder that contains nine Apple apps, all sitting on the first page.)

3. Now navigate to the folder containing the unwanted applications. Again, using edit mode, drag its icon to the right edge of the folder and wait until you get to the next page of the folder. Keep doing this until you get to the first empty page of the folder: in many cases, including our example, this will be the new second page.

4. Release your finger so that the icon settles in the top left position of this page on its own. We now have eight icons on the first page and a second one on the second.

We do this on an iPhone 6s Plus in landscape mode to make it easier to see what's going on, but if you're in portrait mode or using a non-Plus iPhone that doesn't have landscape mode, it will look a little different - you'll only see one page at a time, first.

5. Now repeat step 3: drag the icon to the right edge of the folder and wait for iOS to create another page for the icon to sit on - in our case, this would theoretically leave us with eight icons on page 1, a blank page 2, and one icon per page 3. But this time instead of removing your finger and letting the badge land on it new page, press the Home button while continuing to hold your finger. The icon will fly to the top left.

Gone!

6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for each app you want to hide; after you disable all apps in the folder, it will disappear too.

How to get back disappeared apps

The apps are still on your iPhone or iPad, they are just hidden. When you restart your iPhone again, they will be back. It follows from this that if you want the iDevice to remain in an unsecured state, do not restart it for a while.

The fact that apps are still on your iPhone or iPad uses up storage space makes it an imperfect solution - and it will be very frustrating to see them all reappear as soon as you restart. But at least he takes your homepage and remains the closest we're still allowed to remove Apple's pre-installed apps.

Let's take a look at some more permanent ways to uninstall apps from an iPhone or iPad - but keep in mind that it remains difficult to get rid of pre-installed apps unless you want a jailbreak.

How to uninstall an app or game from an iPad or iPhone (but not pre-installed Apple apps)

Okay, let's move on to the basic process of deleting apps that you've added to your iPhone or iPad since it was first activated. This will not work on pre-installed apps that Apple installed on the device at the factory. (This is really for beginners. If you know how it works, skip to the next step.)

Launch your iPhone or iPad and go to main screen(Press the home button below the screen, or tap all five fingers on the screen and draw them inward like a claw.) Find the icon of the app you want to uninstall and press and hold it for a few seconds. It (and all the other icons on the screen) will begin to wobble slightly, and a small cross will appear as a gray circle. Click the cross, then confirm that you want to uninstall the app.

App icons start shaking...

Click the cross and it will ask you to confirm the deletion

And it looks like iOS 6:

How to Remove an iOS App from iTunes on Your Mac

If you sync your iPhone or iPad to your Mac on a regular basis, you will also need to uninstall the app from your Mac. Open iTunes, make sure you are in the library section (if you are in the store iTunes Store, click Library on the right upper corner screen), then select Apps from the drop-down menu at the top left. Find the icon of the app you want to get rid of, click it right click mouse and select Delete.

How to Restore a Deleted iPhone or iPad App in iTunes

If you ever change your mind and want to get your deleted app back, don't worry - Apple's App Store remembers that you've already bought it. Find the app in the App Store and it will offer you the option to download it again instead of the usual price tag or "FREE". Click "Download" and you won't be charged again.

How to restore any app (even those removed from the App Store)

Removing an app from iOS devices removes the app from your iPhone (or iPad) but it remains on your shopping list.

This is incredibly convenient because it allows you to re-download the application at any later time. You can even redownload apps that have been removed from the App Store. Once you've purchased an app from the App Store, it's yours for life.

The recent news that EA is removing many of the most popular games from the App Store has highlighted the possibility of redownloading apps. It doesn't matter if the publisher removes the app from sale, you can still get a copy that you've already purchased from the App Store. This is great news for those who recently uninstalled the wonderful Flight Control and were worried that EA's decision meant they could never play it again.

To redownload apps from the App Store, follow these steps:

  1. Open the App Store on your iPhone.
  2. Make sure you're signed in with the same account you used to purchase the app (click Popular and scroll down to see which Apple ID you're using).
  3. Click "Updates".
  4. Click Purchased.
  5. Click "Not on this iPhone."
  6. Click the Download icon next to the app you want to download to your iOS device.

If you have many apps in your purchased apps list, use the search box at the top to find the app.

Can I remove an app from my App Store account permanently?

But what if you to want remove an app from your App Store account permanently?

This may seem like a strange question, but when you update apps, you don't want your list of purchased apps to get clogged. free apps, which you tried and then deleted. If you're looking to reinstall an app you uninstalled some time ago, you may find yourself scrolling through a huge list of tried and discarded apps, especially if your focus on apps is as low as ours.

How to remove default apps (like stocks) from your iPhone: Tim Cook says Apple is 'looking at' an app removal tool

When you first set up your iPhone, it comes with a set of standard applications. Some of them, like Phone, Messages, and Mail, are a vital part of the iOS experience.

Others, like weather and supplies, are not as important and people never touch them. The stock seems to be particularly objectionable and many users have stated that they would like to remove it from the phone.

There is currently no way to get rid of these default apps from iOS. If you put the home screen in blend mode, these apps move around but don't display a small "x" to indicate deletion.

All is not lost, however, during a recent interview with Buzzfeed, Apple CEO Tim Cook announced that in the future, Apple may provide owners with the option to uninstall these apps.

"It's not that we want to suck your property, we're not motivated to do so," Cooke said. "We want you to be happy. So I understand that some people want to do that, and that's what we're looking at."

If and when Apple enables a method to uninstall apps for stocks like stocks and weather, we'll update this article with information on how to uninstall apps.

How to remove shares, game center and other pre-installed shares of Apple apps

Not everyone likes Apple's own apps, but they're not easy to get rid of; Apple doesn't let you just uninstall Safari, Notes, Game Center and the rest. (We think this is a pretty vapid policy, and it's one of the things we discuss in .) You can get around this, but it might not be worth the effort.

What we're doing, as an easier workaround, is hiding icons for Apple apps we don't use in the "Apple stuff" folder.

To organize apps into folders, press and hold the icon for one of them until it starts to rock, then drag it to the second app you want to place in the folder. iOS will automatically generate a title for the folder based on the app descriptions, but if you click that name, you can rename it.

Once again, here's a slightly different look in iOS 6:

Newsstand in iOS 6: For iOS 6 users, you'll find that the exception to this is the Newsstand, which Apple clearly loves so much that you're (currently) not allowed to hide it in a folder. (Though some hotspots on the Apple Forum consider it can be done if you're quick enough. We've failed this in a dozen tries, which suggests our fingers are old and slow, or that Apple has fixed this workaround since then. now.)

The initial thinking may have been that Newsstand acts like a folder on its own and you can't nest a folder within other folders in iOS.

Other than updating to a later version of iOS, best solution maybe hide the newsstand in screen not a folder. Press and hold any app icon again to enter shaky mode, then drag the newsstand to the right of the screen and hold it there until the iPhone or iPad navigates to a prompt and moves on to the next screen. Keep going until you get to the rightmost screen, then do it again and iOS will create additional screen where you can opt out of Newsstand.

From now on, you won't even need to see the Newsstand, unless you accidentally swept too far. Phew! (You can also reset the "Apple Stuff" folder here.)

Okay, but how do you actually delete Newsstand, Game Center, and the rest of the Apple stock apps?

Officially, you can't remove Apple's own pre-installed iOS apps, leaving most of us with the slightly unsatisfactory hiding methods outlined above. But if you're willing to jailbreak your iPhone or iPad (disclaimer: we wouldn't recommend this as it will likely void any warranties you have with Apple and may even cause your device to stop working if you breach procedure), then you can pretty much do whatever you like.

Jailbroken iOS devices can access Cydia marketplace for unauthorized iOS apps. You can search for applications related to Newsstand, but one that is successfully used by a large number of users is called No news is good news, Install this app and run it and the Press folder icon will be removed. Any magazine apps you had inside Newsstand will show up on the home screen and can be placed into folders as normal. Here is another explanation of this process.

Again, if you want to uninstall other Apple apps, you will need to jailbreak your iPhone, and one option you'll find on Cydia is called IFile, which allows you to (and delete) all system and application files on your iPhone. Here's a video of the procedure, but as the man says, don't forget to get your files back before deleting them if you make the mistake of deleting something vital to the operation of your Apple device.

If any of these Cydia applications disappear, or you're unhappy with them, do similar searches on Cydia, which has plenty of apps to reorganize files on your iPhone or iPad. But as we've said, be careful: you're now outside of Apple's fenced-in ecosystem.

Is there a way to uninstall Apple apps without jailbreak?

Having said that you need to jailbreak, there seem to be a few tweaks in there that will at least temporarily remove pre-installed apps from your iPhone or iPad no jailbreak, but they all involve visiting websites and accessing files, which can carry risks, like jailbreaking does.

One possibility is a site called rag3hack: Accessing this site from an iOS device gives you the ability to "delete" Apple's proprietary apps (actually it just changes the settings so that those apps get the black cross mentioned above, allowing you to delete them manually ). However, the next time you restart your device, they will come back, so we're not sure if that's a solution either. More: Here's how it works.

How can we remove hidden programs in Windows XP

In this note, we will show how to hide any program from the list of installed programs in the Control Panel. The instructions apply to all versions of Windows, from Windows XP to the latest builds of Windows 10.

How to hide a specific program from the Programs and Features list in Windows

Let's say our task is to hide the entry about the installed 7-Zip archiver. Open the Control Panel, go to the section ProgramsandFeatures(Programs and Features) and make sure the entry 7-zip 16.04 (x64) present in the list of installed software.

In order to hide the entry about the program, you will need to make small changes to the registry. For this:

The application is also hidden from the list of installed programs in the modern Windows 10 Control Panel (Settings -> Applications).

If you need to use hiding the program within a certain script or script, you can use the following command:

REG ADD "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\7-zip" /v SystemComponent /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f

Advice. There is another alternative way to hide the program. To do this, it is enough to change the name of the key in the same branch display name on the QuietDisplayName.

To disable the hiding mode for the program, just delete the SystemComponent parameter or rename the DisplayName parameter by removing the word Quiet, changing the value of the SystemComponent key to 0 (command: REG ADD "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\7-zip" / v SystemComponent /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f), or by deleting it.

Advice. If, in addition to the entry about the program, you need to hide the service corresponding to it, you can use the information from the article.

You cannot hide system programs, such as the C++ Libraries Set or the .NET Framework, using this method.

Hide all installed programs from the user

If you want to completely prevent users from showing the list of installed applications in Programs and Features, you can do so using the gpedit.msc policy editor. Launch the policy editor, go to the section User Configuration –> Administrative Templates –> Control Panel –> Programs and enable the policy Hide Programs and Features page.

Update the policies using the gpupdate /force command and verify that the Programs and Features window in the Control Panel is not available to the user. In the control panel, the entry "The system administrator has disabled Programs and Features" will be displayed.

Often, mobile device manufacturers install a lot of unnecessary applications on them. Yes, and the Android operating system itself sins in that it contains a lot of "junk" programs. Fortunately, there are several ways to get rid of such unwanted applications.

Removing Third Party Applications

Removing non-system programs in Android goes quite smoothly. You just need to go to the settings, open the Applications menu and select third-party programs that you don't need. After that, it remains only to click on the "Delete" button. In a more convenient form, this function is implemented in a program called "ES Explorer". Install "ES File Explorer" on your Android, run the program and select "Application Manager" from the menu. In the window that opens, you will see all the programs installed on your smartphone or tablet. If you long press on the program icon, the "Uninstall" button will appear.

Thus, you can remove applications that were not preinstalled in the operating system initially.

Removing system apps

To remove system applications, you need to obtain Superuser rights (the so-called "root-rights"). There are many programs for Android that allow you to get such rights. But you can’t find them on the Google Market, because. Software that allows you to get the rights of the Superuser, from the point of view of Google, does not represent anything good and is often used to pirate the distribution of Android applications.

Popular root programs include Unlock Root, Framaroot, VRoot, and Kingo Android Root. The last application is installed on the computer to which the mobile device is connected via a USB cable. First, the program installs the drivers it needs to work. After that, just click on the large “Root” button and restart your smartphone or tablet. Upon completion of these steps, you have Superuser rights.

Now you need to install a program on Android to remove system applications. One of the most popular programs of this kind is Root Explorer. This application is able to delete files that are written to the system / app directory. Often, system applications located in this folder, in addition to the file with the .apk extension, have another file with the same name, but with the .odex extension - you need to delete both the first and the second.

Remember that rooting will automatically void your warranty. If your mobile device fails, no service center will take it under warranty.

Over time, some applications, games become unnecessary for the owner. To properly uninstall them, you need to know how to remove the program from your computer without leaving unnecessary files in the registry. The rules are the same for both laptops and desktops. You can uninstall using the built-in Windows tools or third-party utilities.

How to completely remove a program from a computer

Some users think that you just need to click the delete button on the desktop shortcut, but this is not true. Removing programs from a computer can be done in several ways, some of them leave invisible files in the system, others completely erase all data. If you do not know how to remove unnecessary applications, over time you will accumulate so much "garbage" that problems with memory or system performance will begin.

Proper uninstallation manually or by means of third-party programs will help to avoid this. The most common utilities for these needs are as follows:

  • uninstall file;
  • your uninstaller;
  • CCleaner;
  • Revo uninstaller;
  • built-in Windows tools.

Uninstalling programs in Windows 7

One of the common versions of this operating system has all the necessary resources to completely uninstall files. You do not need to download additional software to remove all unnecessary applications and games. You just need such an item as adding and removing programs in Windows 7. The algorithm of actions is as follows:

  • click on the "Start" button;
  • select "Control Panel" from the menu;
  • inside you need to find the "Installation and removal" section;
  • select from the list the application that should be uninstalled;
  • click on it and click on the "Delete" item;
  • wait until the end of the procedure.

uninstall file

All official developers leave the user the opportunity, without any problems, to simply and quickly remove their product. There is a native uninstaller in the program, which, as a rule, is located along with all other files after installation and is called Uninstall. You just need to click on it, agree to uninstall and the file itself will perform all the actions, leaving no hidden documents on the computer.

Utilities for the complete removal of programs

There is also special software that was created to erase data from a computer, clean registry, and completely remove all components from a PC. Utilities will help get rid of all hidden, inaccessible files. You can use the following software to uninstall programs:

  • ccleaner;
  • uninstall tool;
  • Revo Uninstaller;
  • unlocker.

How to remove an unwanted program from a computer

Above, various options have been described on how to get rid of unused applications. You yourself can choose any of the ways to remove unnecessary programs from your computer. The option to uninstall via the Start button is the easiest, but there are more advanced utilities that open up more options for advanced users. You can not only remove unnecessary programs from your computer, but also work with the registry. Keep in mind that you can only perform these actions if you understand what you are doing. Otherwise, there is a risk of erasing the necessary documents.

Free Uninstall tool

This is a lightweight, simple utility that is distributed freely on the Internet. The Uninstall tool can be used without purchasing a license. During installation, in addition to the main folder, hidden in other places on the PC appear, entries in the registry are added. Removing them manually becomes difficult because the search does not always find them by name. The utility in question will help you in this matter, it detects all the "tails" that were created during installation. You need to do the following:

  1. Install software.
  2. It will launch the application, in the first window you will see the "Uninstaller" menu.
  3. From the list in the window, select the unnecessary application.
  4. Information about the file will appear, it is possible to delete it forcibly.

How to uninstall a program with CCleaner

This is a powerful tool for working with the registry, all installed applications, games. Ccleaner computer cleaning can be done automatically or manually. The utility is able to collect data from the entire PC and offer to erase specific files. Externally, the main window of the program looks like a standard Windows tool. To get rid of unwanted documents, do the following:

  1. Install and open the app.
  2. Select the "Service" tab.
  3. The first item in the menu will be "Delete", in the list you need to select the required line.
  4. Click on the “Uninstall” button, the software will perform all the necessary actions by itself, guide the user through the necessary steps.
  5. Keep in mind that you need to click on the button above, and not on "Delete". This function erases data from the registry, not the application itself.
  6. Then go to the "Registry" window, run the scan.
  7. Clean up any extra entries that Ccleaner finds.

Revo uninstaller

A powerful utility that simplifies the process of erasing data. With its help, you can solve all the problems that may arise in this process. The Revo uninstaller programs are uninstalled as follows:

  1. Run the software, find the icon of the document you want to erase in the main menu. Right-click on the line and select "Delete".
  2. First, a preliminary analysis will be carried out, then the uninstaller will be launched.
  3. The uninstall wizard will guide you through several steps, perform the necessary actions, choosing the desired uninstallation options.
  4. Some “tails” could remain, so go to the “Advanced” section, start scanning.
  5. The report should include all registry entries after the deletion.
  6. Click "Select All" and then click "Delete" again. You don’t have to worry about the health of Windows, only unnecessary data is removed from the registry.
  7. Do the same in the "Remaining Files..." section.

What to do if the program is not removed

Sometimes users may encounter a situation where a file or folder that cannot be deleted appears on the PC. In this case, you will need special applications that lift the ban. Utilities for unlocking LockHunter or Unlocker files are considered popular. These options help to remove the lock from the desired element, which gives you the message "Unable to delete the file." Instructions on how to remove an uninstallable program:

  1. Download, install Unlocker, it will immediately appear in the OS context menu so you don't have to look for it.
  2. Right-click on the document that voluntarily does not want to go to the trash.
  3. In the window that appears, click on "Delete" and click "OK".

LockHunter works on the same principle. When you install it, when you right-click on any document, there will be a new line in the menu "What is locking this file?". When the item is activated, a note will appear in which the path to the document and the processes that prevent it from being erased will be written. To get rid of the document, you just need to click on the “Delete it!” option.

How to uninstall a program from a remote computer

Sometimes it's easier to do everything yourself than to explain to a person who does not understand the issue. You can uninstall programs on a remote computer. It will be possible to do this only for users who have experience with computers on a local network. Use of another PC must be approved by the owner. To work, you need the built-in WMI utility, you need to do the following:

  1. Press Win+R keyboard shortcut, write cmd.exe to run command prompt.
  2. Next, type in wmic.
  3. Next, you need to get a list of what is installed on the remote machine. Write the following: node: computer name product get name - and confirm the action with the enter button.
  4. You will receive a list and, for example, you need to erase the Klondike game.
  5. Retype the following from the wmic utility: node: PcName product where name = "Klondike" call uninstall.
  6. Confirm your decision with the "Y" button.
  7. A message about deletion will appear on the screen, additional options will be indicated.

How to uninstall portable programs

There are utilities that do not require installation. They are simply copied to the hard drive and run from the exe file. Removing portable programs is completely done with a simple keyboard shortcut Shift + Delete. If you want to send the folder to the trash, then just Delete is enough (this will leave you the opportunity to restore the data if necessary). Such cases do not require additional cleaning of the registry.

What programs can not be removed from the computer

The main thing in this process is not to get carried away, because you can erase something really important. There is a list of folders that should not be touched by a complete removal of programs. Some data is responsible for the operation of the entire operating system, and overwriting it will lead to the inoperability of the computer. You cannot delete anything from the following folders:

  • ProgramData - if you do not know what the folder is responsible for, then nothing should be erased from it;
  • Windows - the main folder of the OS, here are all the components of the system;
  • Program Files - installed software, only if you understand what the folder is responsible for, you can overwrite it;
  • Users - user data;
  • Boot - system boot files.
