First level cache (L1)

Cache memory is used by the processor to reduce access time to more frequently accessed data and instructions. L1 (level 1) cache is small and much faster than system memory, and other cache levels. Second level cache (L2)

L2 (level 2) cache is slower than L1, but in return it has a larger capacity, allowing more data to be cached. It, like L1, is much faster than system memory (RAM). If the processor does not find the requested data in L2, it continues to look for it in the L3 cache (if available) or RAM.

The SAR level indicates maximum amount electromagnetic radiation, to which the human body is exposed, if kept mobile device next to the ear. The maximum value used in the US is 1.6 W/kg per gram of human tissue. Mobile devices in the US are controlled by the CTIA and the FCC conducts tests and sets their SAR values.

Last year, Lenovo's line of budget Android devices saw a major addition. Almost simultaneously, a well-known Chinese manufacturer released several interesting tablets, the most inexpensive of which was the TAB3 7. Due to the relatively small 7-inch display, it looks a bit like a phablet and is positioned as a mobile device for the whole family due to its unusual functionality.

For example, the tablet is able to work in multi-user mode, which allows different people to log in under their account and view mail, search for information on the network or spend time playing games without fear that someone else will be able to access their personal information. And what else is ready to surprise Lenovo TAB3 7?

Lenovo TAB3 7 Tablet Specifications:

  • Display diagonal: 7.0 inches, DPI 194, IPS, resolution 1024×600 (HD), (capacitive multi-touch 5 touch points);
  • Processor: 4 cores, MT8735P, 1.0 GHz (64 bits);
  • Graphics accelerator: Mail-T720;
  • RAM: 1 GB;
  • Built-in memory: 16 GB;
  • Wireless: Wi-Fi (802.11 /b/g/n);
  • Bluetooth: 4.0;
  • Memory card support up to: 32 GB (not included);
  • Operating system: Android 6.0 Marshmallow;
  • Battery capacity: 3450 mAh;
  • Camera: front - 2.0 MP and rear - 5.0 MP;
  • Navigation: GPS;
  • Sensors: proximity, illumination and gravity;
  • Additionally: 4G LTE standard (2300-2320/2555-2575 MHz) and Dolby Atmos technology are supported;
  • Available colors: black and white.
  • Dimensions: 190.0 × 100.0 × 4.8 mm;
  • Weight: 252 grams;

Equipment.

In the box with the tablet you will find: 1 Amp charger, microUSB - USB cable for charging and data transfer, and documentation.

Appearance and ergonomics.

The tablet will not please you with a particularly refined or innovative design. Still, it is worth remembering that this is, first of all, a budget mobile device, and not a premium fashion gadget. But the build quality is on top - no backlash and squeaks. Yes, and TAB3 7 looks, albeit not too bright, but strictly and neatly.

The case of the device is dust and moisture resistant (confirmed by IP52 certificate) and is made of high quality plastic. The front panel is almost completely occupied by the screen, only in its upper part there is a lens front camera and a small speaker. The manufacturer placed the main camera on the back non-removable cover. The headphone and charging jacks are hidden on the top, and the microphone is on the bottom.

The power and volume buttons are located on the right edge of the gadget, which only increases its similarity to smartphones. The left side of the TAB3 7 is adorned with the manufacturer's logo, which hides a slot for SIM cards (or just one of them plus a memory card).

Display.

The Lenovo TAB3 7 has a 7-inch IPS screen with support for 1024x600 resolution. Despite the modest cost of the tablet, the quality of the display is not inferior to more expensive competitors. The brightness margin is enough to use the gadget even in the sun or in a room with a lot of lighting fixtures.

And if you wish, you can debug the screen “for yourself” and save your favorite combination of contrast and other settings under your account.

OS and interface.

The device works thanks to the Android OS of the sixth version. The manufacturer did not radically change the “OSes” familiar to many, but only added a little proprietary software and some features. The most important option in software tablet is support for a multi-user mode, thanks to which the gadget can be used in turn by several family members.

At the same time, they will not “knock down” each other’s settings and get confused when viewing mail or surfing the web, since a smart device remembers such nuances and writes them into account. That is, it is enough to enter your username and password to change many parameters from the previous user to your own.

Performance.

As befits a budget mobile device, Lenovo TAB3 7 is built on a modest, but still good performance base. Its heart is a 4-core Mediatek processor MT 8735, working in conjunction with a gigabyte of RAM, and sixteen "gigabytes" of memory on board. Mali-400MP is responsible for the graphics in the tablet - although not the most powerful chip, its capabilities are still enough to run most applications and huge amount games (eg. GTA San Andreas).

The tablet can be easily used as GPS navigator. The data storage space in the device can easily be increased by another thirty-two gigabytes if one of the SIM card slots is occupied with a MicroSD memory card.

In terms of communications, the gadget supports networks of the second, third and fourth generation. He also has Bluetooth version 4.0 and Wi-Fi module. A 3450 mAh battery, according to the manufacturer, will last for nine hours of battery life.

Camera.

Cameras are one of the weakest points in Lenovo TAB3 7. There is not much to say about them:

  • main with a matrix of five megapixels;
  • frontal with a resolution of two megapixels.

Such a set is enough to create the simplest pictures and record small videos, but only in good lighting, since there are simply no flashes in the device.

Sound.

The external speaker in the tablet is very simple and quiet. So you should not count on high-quality and clear sound when playing music through it. But in good headphones Lenovo TAB3 7 produces quite acceptable low, medium and high frequencies. And it's nice to watch movies on the tablet - according to a good tradition, like many other devices from the company, it supports Dolby Atmos technology, which makes the sound voluminous and rich.

Pros:

  • Excellent price tag;
  • Quality assembly;
  • Ability to work with multiple users in turn;
  • The presence of a children's mode, in which not only access to web resources is configured, but also the access time, with the possibility of limiting for several hours in certain period time.

Minuses:

  • Weak cameras;
  • Simple design.

    Thank you for your expressed opinion. Perhaps you are right, but I try to look at the mobile device from different angles in order to convey to the potential buyer all its strengths and weaknesses.

    2017-06-03T13:57:24+00:00

    For the money for which it is sold, this is quite a worthy and competitive tablet. As for the shortcomings you noted in the form of weak cameras, then for a tablet given function is secondary and few people buy a tablet in order to shoot or take pictures. The tablet has much more important other functions.

    2017-05-29T09:03:48+00:00

    And we gave such a little brother as a mini-replacement PC. Comfortable, compact and conducive to learning and entertainment. There is LTE, a very necessary function - it allows you to access the Internet both by connecting to wi-fi and by inserting a SIM card. A decent battery, as much as 3450 mAh - enough for us for study and entertainment. You cannot make calls from a tablet, there is no built-in GSM module.
