First, let's get a little acquainted with the fb2 standard itself and its scope, and then consider the program. FB2 stands for fiction book, that is, fiction, popular books. Initially, this format was developed with the aim of standardizing literature in electronic form. It was assumed that having received a book in this format, the user will be able to read it on a regular computer, and on a PDA, and on an ebook, and on smartphones and phones.
Almost all modern devices either support this format on their own, or allow you to install software, which allows you to read books in this format. You can download Any2FB on the developer's website in the "Software for working with FictionBook" section. After starting the program, we will see the working window: 
The process of creating ordinary literature is very simple - select the book you want to convert by clicking on the button on the right upper corner with three dots. About the settings. As a result of the experiment, I came to the conclusion that ordinary books from the txt, doc and other formats are best converted using the default settings. If you have a strong "vein" of a curious experimenter, you can try to change the settings. FB2 is an extremely popular format, and most often you can find e-books in it. There are special reader applications that provide not only support for this format, but also the convenience of displaying content. It is logical, because many people are used to reading not only on a computer screen, but also on mobile devices.
No matter how cool, convenient and widespread FB2 is, the main software solution to create and store text data still remains Microsoft Word and its standard DOC and DOCX formats. In addition, many old-fashioned e-books are still distributed in it.
You can open such a file on any computer with established by the Office, but for reading it will not look very convenient, and not every user wants to mess with changing the text formatting. It is for this reason that the need to translate a Word document into FB2 is so relevant. In fact, we will tell you how to do this below.
Unfortunately, standard means Microsoft Word text editor cannot convert a DOCX document to FB2. To solve this problem, you will have to resort to using third-party software, namely. It's not the most popular program, but for our purposes its functionality is more than enough.

1. After downloading the archive, unzip it using the archiver installed on your computer. If not, please select the appropriate one from our articles. We recommend that you use one of best solutions for working with archives - the WinZip program.
2. Extract the contents of the archive to a place convenient for you on your hard drive, put all the files in one folder. Once done, run the executable.
3. After launching the program, open in it word document, which you want to convert to FB2. To do this, click the button in the form of a folder on the toolbar.
4. After specifying the path to the file, open it by clicking Open, Text Document will be opened (but not displayed) in the program interface. AT top window it will just show the path to it.
5. Now press the button File and select the item Convert. As you can see from the tooltip next to this item, you can also start the conversion process using the key F9.
6. Wait for the process to complete, a window will appear in front of you, in which you can specify a name for the converted FB2 file and save it to your computer.
Note: By default, the program saves the converted files to a standard folder "The documents", moreover, by packing them into a ZIP archive.
7. Go to the folder with the archive that contains the FB2 file, extract it and run it in a reader program, for example, which you can familiarize yourself with on our website.
As you can see, a text document in FB2 format looks much more readable than in Word, especially since you can open this file on mobile device. The same FBReader has an application for almost all desktop and mobile platforms.
This is just one of options, which allows you to translate a Word document into FB2. For those users who are not satisfied with this method for some reason, we have prepared another one, which will be discussed below.
Using the online converter
There are quite a few resources that allow you to convert files from one format to another online. The Word direction we need in FB2 is also present on some of them. So that you do not look for a suitable, proven site for a long time, we have already done it for you and offer you a choice of as many as three online converters.
Consider the conversion process on the example of the last (third) site.
1. Select Word file, which you want to convert to FB2 by specifying the path to it on your computer and opening it in the site interface.

2. In the next window, you need to make the conversion settings:
- Paragraph "Program for reading the received e-book" we recommend leaving it unchanged;
- If necessary, change the filename, author, and margin sizes;
- Parameter "Change source file encoding" better left as is "Autodetect".
3. Press the button "Convert file" and wait for the process to complete.
Note: The download of the converted file will start automatically, so just specify the path to save it and click "Save".
Now you can open an FB2 file obtained from a Word document in any program that supports this format.
That, in fact, is all, as you can see, converting Word to FB2 format is not difficult at all. Just choose suitable method and use it, it will be a converter program or an online resource - it's up to you.
Learning C# while sitting in front of a computer monitor is convenient (and necessary) only when you need to open visual studio and consider examples of programs "in practice". But it is much more convenient to read the theory from the screen of an e-book, lying on the couch or somewhere on a trip. But in this case, you have to face much bigger problems, one of which is the lack of the necessary books in the fb2 format.
Through a search, I found an article on the Habrahabr website, where the author offered automatic conversion of books into a graphic format. But it would not help me, because. The book I needed was optimized for approximately A4 format, and the PocketBook 626 screen size is only 6 inches. So I had to create a book in fb2 format. Long, but in principle necessary, because. I did not find normal alternatives (it was possible to read directly in pdf format, but it was displayed very poorly on the reader, and without hyphenation).
To create fb2, in addition to having the source text of the book, you need to install an extension for OpenOffice:
1. Download and install OpenOffice (if it is not on the computer).
2. Download and unpack
3. In OpenOffice, go to the Menu and select Tools -> Manage Extensions... -> Add...
4. Select the OOoFBTools.oxt file and install it. After restarting OpenOffice, the menu item should appear OOoFBTools
After all the tools for creating a book are prepared, you can start creating it. I’ll note right away that this process is not at all fast, but with some practice, you can create several hundred A4 pages per weekend, which, in principle, is quite enough to prepare reading material for the whole week.
(For a start, you can practice on one page).
1. For convenience, we create our own page format in OpenOffice.Writer, which is more like an e-book screen: Format -> Page ... -> Paper size"Custom..." - Approximately 8.80cm by 12.50cm and margins 0.30cm right and left and 0.50cm top and bottom.
2. Copy the text from the PDF file and paste it into a new OpenOffice Writer document. Paste better through "Paste as ..." or using the key combination Ctrl + Shift + V and select "Text without formatting"
3. Next, call the FB2 Styles Panel: Menu -> OOoFBTools -> "Fb2 Styles Panel..."
4. Launch Menu -> OOoFBTools -> "Text Corrector..."
In this version of fb2tools, the corrector is also applied to a block of text selected as a listing (code), so in order to avoid unnecessary deletions, it is better to remove the marked items (I also removed the removal of page breaks):
5. To reduce manual labor, launch the menu item OOoFBTools -> Glue line and paragraph breaks…
6. Now you need to manually run through the text to detect missing line breaks.
7. After that, you can select parts of the text using the Styles panel:
- Book - Title
- Book - Author
- Heading 1 (for the title of the Chapters of the book)
- Heading 2 (for subsection titles)
- Quote - Subtitle (to emphasize the word Note)
- Quote (to highlight text Notes)
- code (for highlighting program listings)
8. If the book contains code fragments (listings), then you need to select the menu item OOoFBTools -> Automatic markup of program listings
9. After all the necessary styles have been applied to the text, you can form the Table of Contents using OpenOffice tools. All text selected with the Heading style will be automatically added to it and page numbers will be added.
10. Before the first launch of Export to FB2, you need to configure the parameters: Menu -> OOoFBTools -> Export2FB21 Settings…
11. In addition, you will need to fill out the "Fb2 Properties Editor ..." once
12. Now choose Menu -> OOoFBTools -> Export to fb2 format… and click the "Export" button.

Unfortunately, OOoFBTools is just a script for Visual Basic, so it will not be possible to automatically correct the text by 100% and you will have to manually delete the paragraph characters ¶ or insert it where necessary. For convenience, you need to enable the display of non-printable characters in OpenOffice.Writer ( Ctrl + F10 ).

Those who use a tablet, smartphone, computer or laptop to read e-books will have to install a program to open documents of this format. To date, there are a sufficient number of them, and the principle of their work is not particularly different - to play the file. But, as always, there may be some differences. Therefore, now we will analyze the most popular and convenient programs to open fb2 format.
FBReader
FBReader is a free and easy-to-use program that can also work with other popular formats: ePub, TCR, HTML, TXT, Mobi, PalmDoc, zTXT. Has versions for different operating systems, moreover, provided mobile version for reading books on a smartphone or tablet. coolreader
coolreader – great utility for reading electronic documents fb2 format. It also has versions adapted for different operating platforms such as: Linux, macOS, Windows. It can work without installation, that is, in portable mode.
Due to the settings, the program allows you to display one and two pages at the same time, create bookmarks, read in full screen mode, view a list of recently opened books, choose a font size, zoom in and adjust to screen positions.
It is worth saying that CoolReader is quite pleasant to read. Since it has the ability to smooth the font and imitate a real book due to a customizable background.
In order to create an fb2 document, it is not necessary to have any special skills and knowledge. It will be enough to use simple method which we will now share with you. It will allow you to do it quickly and easily.
First of all, use any text editor. Let it be, for example, everyone's favorite Microsoft Word. Create a document in it with all the headings, footnotes, illustrations according to the given rules. Then save in the standard doc/docx format.
Next, we need an "auxiliary tool" to convert a file from doc / docx format to fb2 format. As it we will use free program Caliber, which is designed to translate one format into another, or "fit" files to the required devices.
During installation, you must select the folder in which you will place the created documents. After that, a list box will appear where you can select the device from which you will read. Thus, the file will be converted under it.
But to change the format, click on "Generic". In any case, you can always call up these settings via parameters if the situation changes.
Now add the doc/docx file, and then click on "Convert Books". In the pop-up window at the top left, select the fb2 format we need. note that this program has more features, it converts to different formats back and forth. When the conversion is completed, go to the folder that you specified during installation, where the documents will already be saved in the new format.

Earlier, I described how to make an e-book using the free Caliber program. This entry presents step-by-step instruction to create a professional table of contents.
Almost all book readers have an option to "show table of contents". Usually, this is an icon consisting of several horizontal lines≡. Figure 1 shows the "reader" of the Caliber program. There is a red check next to this icon. If you click on it, a window with a table of contents will appear on the side.
Now about how to make such a table of contents.
1. When you edit your manuscript, all headings must be formatted. It's simple. Highlight your heading and in the "format" box find the line "Heading 1". In the English version, this is called "Heading 1".
2. If you want the table of contents to have subheadings (in the example in Figure 2, this is “House in Marke”), then select the desired subheading and select the format “Heading 2”
3. Heading formatting can be simplified. After highlighting the title, press CTRL + 1 (or 2 for the subtitle) at the same time
4. In your computer's memory, the header formatting may not be what you want. It's OK. After the first formatting, choose the font size and type you like, and the computer will remember it.
5. After that, start working with the Caliber program. The first steps are described in the first part of my instructions.
