Conclusion

We figured out where the “Control Panel” is located in Windows 10, although Microsoft developers have hidden the desired icon from users. If you often need to access management tools, it is recommended to display an icon on the desktop - this is the most convenient way to have constant access to tools that allow you to customize your work operating system.

If you remember and love the sidebar from Windows 7/8, then we have good news for you. You can get it in 10 as well. And it's not just some new panel, which is the same element that you already had installed earlier. You can install it along with any set of gadgets. You can install it on any Windows version 10. It is distributed as part of the gadget package - 8Gadgets.

Is it possible to return the sidebar to Windows 10

Most users who want to return the old appearance on Windows 10 don't even know if it can be done. You can get an analogue in the new OS only if you download additional software. Initially, Windows 10 does not and never had such functionality. We suspect that it won't. That's why special utility, is the only option. The 8Gadgets package includes:
  • A set of all gadgets;
  • Panel;
  • Unique Sidebar;
You can use all the functionality of 8Gadgets, or just a part of it. The package is provided free of charge and works on all OS versions. This utility only takes up about 100 MB of hard disk space, but it's beyond words how much it improves the system. Using the system becomes very convenient. The panel may contain gadgets that will provide you with quick access to the necessary information. For example, you can take out notes or a large clock.

The second name of the element you need is Sidebar, it was ported from Windows 8. Although this is an unofficial development, it allows you to return the familiar look to Windows 10. If you work on a computer, then this is what you need. If you didn’t even use it on Windows 8, then you still need it. Installing the package is as simple as possible, but if you have powerful antivirus, as, for example, it will certainly block the operation of this utility. After all, it is registered in the startup area and partially changes the system. We scanned Sidebar for viruses and found no suspicious code.

Good afternoon friends. We all want our computer desktop to look prettier. Users often use additional gadgets for this. These can be various clocks, temperature indicators, electronic voices, and more.

All these gadgets can be called additional visual effects. I already wrote that the extra ones slow down the system. But, now most users have enough powerful computers with a decent processor, so most likely on your system's activities these visual effects will not be reflected.

So, I want to present you an additional panel for the RocketDock software. This panel is much prettier than the regular Windows panel. In my opinion, it resembles a panel. Many users find that such a panel is more convenient.

It has animation. When you choose certain program, it increases and moves. The labels standing next to each other also slightly increase and move. It looks pretty impressive. Many people use RocketDock for antlers, it's nice to show off such a panel to your friends!

This panel quick start free. We need to go to the official website and download RocketDock https://rocketdock.com/download. The program takes only 6.20 MB. Which is pretty small. Runs from Windows 2000 to Windows 10. Please note that random access memory only 10 MB required. The processor for it is suitable from 500 MHz. In other words, any modern PC. So let's install the program. During installation, select the Russian language.

Launch the program from a shortcut on the desktop. We have the panel itself.

Let's look at it. If you don’t like some of the shortcuts offered by the program, select it, right-click on it and click “Remove Icon”.

For example, the icon with a black T-shirt takes us to a site with a non-existent page. We delete it. We insert into it those programs that you often use, and delete the rest. For example, I have this moment panel took shape.

As you can see, I updated most of the programs.

RocketDock panel setup

First of all, pay attention that the default panel is located at the very top of the screen. This creates additional inconvenience. For example, if you have multiple tabs open in your browser, the bar overlaps them. These tabs become hard to reach.

Therefore, I moved the panel down.

To do this, click tv on the panel with the right mouse button and select: Position on the screen - at the bottom. Now our panel is at the bottom. Looks much better. But, in my Windows 10, the regular panel overlaps ours. Looks unimportant.

What to do in this case? You need to lift it up a bit. Or the usual Windows panel make colorless. I'll lift it up a bit. To do this, click on empty field RocketDock with the right key and select in context menu Panel Settings.

If you forgot to set the Russian language when installing the program, you can do this in the top tab "General". We select Language, in the presented list we look for "Russian". Further, if you want the panel to start up with the system (this can slow down the system startup), check the "Run at startup" checkbox and OK.

If you need the settings to be saved in the Settings.ini file (the registry will be less overloaded), check the corresponding box. You can disable animation. Do you intend to remove more shortcuts from the panel or add new ones? Set "Lock icons".

If you have a large monitor, like I do, it will look better when we increase the icon size. To do this, go to the "Icons" and select the desired size with the slider. For example, I slightly enlarged the shortcuts in the panel.

Look through all the other settings and choose the one you like best. Also, I advise you to first put "Run with the system" and see how quickly the system will start. If it is noticeably slower, it is better to uncheck this box and run the program yourself. To make it easier to understand the settings, I suggest watching a video where everything will be explained in detail about the capabilities of the program.

I hope you this program will prove useful. Good luck!

8GadgetPack is an application that allows you to install gadgets on latest versions operating system. As you know, the ability to add gadgets to the desktop appeared back in Windows Vista, in the "seven" they also worked, but with the release of the operating Windows systems 8, the developers decided to abandon the possibility of using them. This decision was made due to the appearance of many "holes" and "vulnerabilities" in the security of the system, which were caused by the addition of these "add-ons" to the desktop.

For those who are accustomed to using desktop gadgets, but at the same time want to switch to more fresh versions operating system from Microsoft, and this program was created. It returns to users the ability to work with gadgets on Windows 8, 8.1 and 10, allowing them to be placed on the sidebar or anywhere on the desktop. Installing the program is as simple as possible. In addition to 8GadgetPack itself, a set of the most popular desktop add-ons will also be added to your PC. You can also download them (gadgets) from specialized web resources and add them to the program library (or directly to the sidebar) using the corresponding key.

8GadgetPack can be launched with the start of Windows, allows you to scale sidebar and the gadgets themselves, "pin" them to a specific location on the desktop, and disable the display of all desktop add-ons in one click. You can download and use this program for free.

Key features and functions

  • allows you to use desktop gadgets on Windows 8, 8.1 and 10;
  • contains its own library with add-ons;
  • makes it possible to fix gadgets in a certain place, as well as freely scale them;

Microsoft developers finally deprived Windows 10 of the standard personalization panel, which we are so used to in our beloved seventh version of the OS. Despite the fact that the creators continue their course towards a complete change in the system interface, craftsmen have already come up with a solution for this situation and have almost completely returned the regular personalization panel to users.

In order to bring the system to a more familiar form, we will have to use additional software, namely a small free utility called Personalization Panel for Windows 10 v 1.1.0.1, download link - (244 KB)

The program does not require installation and allows you to safely modify the OS with a few mouse clicks. After the first launch, we will see such a window, which is not quite presentable:

First of all, we change the interface language to Russian by opening Options and selecting the appropriate settings item. Please note that all changes take effect only after restarting the program.

Then you can freely use the new-old panel depending on your needs, for example, you can quickly install other themes, change the desktop wallpaper, mouse cursors, and there is also a nice opportunity to change the color of the window title bar. To do this, click on the link at the bottom of the window " Colorize window titles»:

Windows now have a more emphasized look, with prominently marked title bars:

It is also worth noting that the program can integrate directly into the system itself, and when you click the personalization item in the desktop context menu, the classic view panel will immediately open, to do this, go back to " Options” and press the button “ Integrate with Desktop context menu»:

In order to cancel the changes, respectively, there is a second button - "Disable integration".

Where can I find the panel.
