When you have purchased a license for an ESET product, you have received an email from ESET containing your ESET-issued Username and Password. This email is delivered to the email address used at the time of purchase.
ESET introduced a new License Key (previously known as Activation Key) that replaces Username/Password license credentials. Therefore you will need to convert your Username/Password credentials here to activate the latest ESET products.
Are my Username & Password still valid?
You can renew your license with renew discount up to 60 days before it expires, or up to 60 days after. Existing customers with valid licenses can upgrade to the latest version of their ESET product for free. For more details about upgrading to the latest version read the Knowledgebase article .
It has been more than 60 days since your license expired. Your license is not eligible for renewal pricing.
Does this affect the validity of my license?Replacing Username and Password with License Key will not have any effect on your license. The License key represents a unique string in the format XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX which is used for identification of the license owner and for activation of the license as well as the license credentials.

For 4-8
To activate ESET NOD32 we need the following data: Username and Password. They can be obtained by purchasing a license on the official website or by activating trial version.
Please note that on the main page of the site you can always take, the validity of which is 30 days from the date of publication.
The site has a key generator with which you can get free license for 7 days. One e-mail address can be used multiple times.
By activating the trial version, you get 30 days, so reinstalling the trial version is more profitable than getting a key using a generator.
Instruction:
1. Open ESET NOD32 antivirus by clicking on the icon in the Windows system tray.
2. Press keyboard shortcut "Ctrl+U", after which a window will open "License Information".
Note: The window will appear only if the antivirus is already activated and you want to renew the license. For the first activation, go to the tabs depending on the version of your antivirus. Doesn't work in version 9.
3. In the appropriate fields, enter the received "Username and Password".
4. Click "OK".
5. Congratulations! Your license is activated and your computer is protected from viruses.

*ESET prohibits hosting activation keys for software products ESET NOD32 on the Internet. The Activation Key is issued after downloading during the installation of the free version.
Like any other full-fledged program for the operating Windows systems 7, antivirus ESET Smart Security just can't work without activation. Large enterprises and commercial organizations can afford to purchase a paid official license to use any antivirus program. However, among the ordinary so-called "users", to which I belong, there are very few such people. I propose a fairly simple method by which you can activate ESET Smart Security or NOD32 almost indefinitely. After that, allow the installed program to make any kind of changes on the computer by clicking the "Yes" button. 
Next, a small window will appear with a choice of language for installing the program. I usually leave the default selection - Russian (or Russian). Click the "OK" button. 
The TNOD Installation Wizard window will open, in which click the "Next" button. 
After that, you can configure the installation settings and select the program components to be installed. I usually leave everything as is. Let's go "Next". 
A window will appear in which you need to select a folder in the Start menu in which a shortcut will be placed that launches the TNOD program. The default choice suits me. Click next. 
Here you are prompted to select the folder where the program will be installed. The ESET folder added to ESET Smart Security exceptions is the best choice. Now start the installation by clicking the "Install" button. 
The installation will begin, which will be completed in just a second with the appearance of the "Completing the installation wizard" window. I suggest that you do not run TNOD yet, since you need to make small settings, or rather, configure the program to run as an administrator. Untick "Launch TNOD User & Password Finder" and click "Finish". 
A shortcut “Update NOD32 license” will appear on the desktop. Click on it with the right mouse button, and then select the "Properties" menu item from the list. 
In the window that appears, open the "Compatibility" tab and check the box next to "Run this program as an administrator". To save the settings, click OK. 
Now we need to add some email addresses, from which the activation program constantly takes licenses and keys, to the list of addresses for which filtering is disabled. Since ESET Smart Security antivirus considers them potentially dangerous. To do this, go to the advanced settings of your antivirus. 
Expand the menu item "Internet and Email”, followed by “Internet Access Protection”. From the menu items that appear, select "Manage URLs" as shown in the picture below. Also make sure that "List of addresses for which filtering is disabled" is selected. And click the "Add" button. 
A small window will appear in which you must enter the address (note that all addresses begin and end with *) and click the "OK" button.

After adding the addresses, the window should look like the one shown in the picture below. Click "OK" to save the settings. 
Now you can run the activation program ESS or NOD32 - TNOD - double click on the shortcut located on the desktop. Immediately, a notification about the launch of TNOD will appear in the lower right corner. The program will start looking for working licenses and keys, and if everything is successful, the message “License inserted correctly” will appear. 
Congratulations. It remains only to update the antivirus database of ESET Smart Security 6 antivirus. To do this, open your antivirus and go to the "Update" menu item, then click the "Update Now" button. 
The ESS antivirus database will start updating. 
As soon as the database update is completed, your antivirus will work fully. To make sure of this, go to the “Home Page” of the antivirus, where you will see that maximum protection is guaranteed, the license is valid. You can also see when the license expires.
