However, it is safe to say that this watch is the best one on the smartwatch market. They act as a quality classic brand with additional features.

The presented model proves that modern technologies not alien to tradition. And manufacturers focused on the classic design of watches can use them in their models. A small technological revolution has been made, which can bring the production of the device to a new level, who, if not the giants of their industry, should make them?

In a stormy age emerging technologies The watch industry is not left out. In 2017, the Swiss company TAG Heuer presented a "smart watch" in an elegant sporty design.

The intrigue lies in the fact that before us are not only the first and only smart watch Swiss-made, their design is also of interest - all elements can be changed at your discretion. A case, a strap, a dial, a module with classical mechanics or a microprocessor - in fact, this is not just one watch, but a whole constructor. We've been craving after the Tag Heuer Connected Modular 45 since it left our wrists early last year. But for some, the luxurious, customizable Android Wear watch was a little over the top. Too big, too heavy, just too expensive. Take a look at the Tag Heuer Connected Modular 41 smartwatch. Not only is it smaller and slimmer than the Tag Heuer Connected Modular 45, this model comes with an upgraded screen and technology - not to mention the smartwatch sells for a slightly lower price. , at least for the launch model. And these smartwatches start at Rs. .

Tag is very pleased with the performance of his smartwatch so far, but there is no doubt that the Modular 41 will open it up to an even wider audience.

The first thing to note about this watch is the size, it is smaller than all other watches from model range Tag focused on module 39, we were expecting the next one. Therefore, smartwatches are designed as unisex watches to fit different wrists.

The case is smooth, cold titanium, on touch screen there is a flat scratch resistant sapphire crystal and the steel bezel is beautifully finished with chronograph numbers 0-60 and indexes. The smartwatch is water resistant up to 50m - convenient. There are nine interchangeable straps to choose from with three new styles: pink, blue and white leather, all with a rubber base for comfort.

Next to a beautifully finished crown - with the Tag logo - on the right edge of the watch case, you'll find a microphone for interacting with Google Assistant - a great place to put it. Plus, you'll find all the important "Swiss Made" right in lower case.
As before, you can swap the lugs as well as the straps even if they are swapped in the Caliber 5's mechanical watch module, making it a truly customizable modular watch. The bands are easy to push out and turn on if you know how: the metal tabs detach from them. Just trust us - don't read the instruction manual unless you want to get lost in the "perpendicular" ludicrous broadcast and deal with "pull objects".

The Tag Heuer Connected Modular 41 smartwatch has a luxurious weight and a thickness of 13.2mm, it is thinner than the Tag Heuer Connected Modular45 watch at 13.75mm, but still looks rather beefy next to the smartwatch Apple Watch Series 3 - 11.4 mm.

This goes to show that both of our reviewers who have worn the Modular 41 found it to be somewhat uncomfortable to wear - perhaps to the shape of the ridges, or perhaps to the smaller strap, it tends to pinch your wrist. Of course, this will depend on personal fit, but we recommend trying it in person before buying to check for yourself.

The Modular 41's updated screen, probably the biggest spread between the two models, places it there and just behind the LG Watch Sport's 348-pixel, 1.38-inch display. The 1.2-inch, full round AMOLED screen is great - it's bright enough at max. 350 nits to be seen outside in daylight and has a resolution of 390x390 which runs at 326 pixels.

Both text and animation look crisp and very pleasing, especially on the specially tuned, custom watch faces that show all the pixels well. To be honest, a little let down by some of the dull Android interfaces Wear, but not many have been made at this stage.

On the Tag Heuer Connected Modular 45, we noticed some sort of screen distortion around the edge of the display, but didn't find anything similar on the Tag Heuer Connected Modular 41 smartwatch, suggesting that Tag has addressed this particular issue.

When the Tag Heuer Connected Modular 45 smartwatch launched in early 2017, Android Wear 2.0 was a big problem. It's standard now, and it does everything Android Wear needs - there's NFC for Android Pay, which, as we've noted, is still lacking on fair fashion and luxury watches (cough, Fossil Group), if not on sportswear. technical side.
As we already mentioned, the Tag Heuer Connected Modular 41 smartwatch has Google Assistant on board, and a microphone that perfectly heard our voice. You can download apps directly to your smart watch from Google Play Store, while there's only Bluetooth and Wi-Fi here, there's no standalone 4G.

The Heuer Studio tag for choosing exclusive, built-in watches and customizing them should be popular - it's easy to use and fun to fiddle around with bases, dials, and more. If you don't really mess it up, all watch curators are both analog and digital styles - enhance the overall look of luxury.
You can also choose a personal photo as the face of the watch. You can also store music on the watch itself, and here's another tag upgrade - 4GB to 8GB of storage could really make this feature usable, perhaps for runners.

The Modular 41 is more powerful than its larger predecessor, powered by an Intel Cloverdale Peak processor with 1GB of RAM for playback. The screen is also very responsive, which we really appreciate after double swiping on the smaller watch screen, and in and out of apps performance is stellar. None of the random slowness we saw on the 45. It's nice to see Tag tweaking the internals every time they release a model.

The Tag Heuer Connected Modular 41 has GPS, which means the watch will be able to track your outdoor workouts. You can choose from Android Big Wear apps like Strava or Endomondo, but tested with google apps fit.

Launching the app was smooth enough that the Tag Heuer actually locked onto the GPS satellite faster than the Garmin Fenix 5 it was tested with. However, in a 10km run, the Tag Heuer only tracked 9.1km - which isn't brilliant.

It also wasn't the most comfortable to work with as the metal body is quite hefty - that's where the epic build quality comes back to haunt you. Serious runners will have a proper GPS watch anyway, but we expect distances to be recorded correctly in the future.

One pretty big change between modular 45 and this device is downsizing the 410mAh battery to 345mAh. Now, the Modular 41's screen is smaller - 1.2-inches compared to the 45's 1.39-inches - so you can guess that's why Zenith was confident it wouldn't impact endurance too much.

Still, we believe that this tag burst fairly quickly under normal use (not in battery saver mode) and the battery on the smartwatch lasted a maximum of one day. Plus, it still takes about two hours to charge, with a charger included.

The full name of the updated model TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45. I would be happy to advise you to contact your colleagues from the Chronoscope website for details - well done guys, they got the watch back at that time, during the world announcement, described their impressions, took pictures (soon there will be with us, please wait). In general, as it should be for a respected site about watches, they did everything cool and on time.

I liked that TAG Heuer got confused in terms of design, I really like the Apple Watch, but it's still a smart watch, a device, albeit a fashionable one. And "tags", well, this is exactly what healthy and brutal watches are, easily recognizable, pleasant to wear, interesting, noticeable, not set on edge. I sometimes wore them even without connecting to any device and nothing, did not break off. After I gave the watch away, there was an idea to buy a TAG Heuer Connected for myself, but instead my wife and I bought another trip to splash in water and the idea was forgotten. Maybe it's for the best.

The disadvantages of that model are also quite understandable, with iOS the functionality was limited, and in general, after the Apple Watch, the functionality was not pleasing - there is none, there is none, the control is not so smooth and smooth, the screen is not so juicy. Outwardly - a fairy tale, a great story. Inside, there are questions.

The official video is good, worth a look.

What was presented today? The fact is that the TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45 is a modular watch. The buyer can not only pick up a different strap, other inserts, a bezel, a buckle for the strap. That is, imagine, the main electronic module has remained the same, the infrastructure has changed. Moreover, if you are completely tired of charging the device, you can also put a regular watch here, such a module also exists. Well, not quite ordinary, this is a Heuer-02T module (according to colleagues from the Chronoscope, with a tourbillon and a chronograph), it will cost about 1,100,000 rubles. One million hundred.

I understand that the figure is amazing for a simple person, but the creators probably wanted to show that the buyer of the TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45 has a place to move in case of emergency. A “simple” smart watch will cost about 100,000 rubles, everything will depend on the package, the selected strap and other accessories. I suppose that in the TAG Heuer boutique in Moscow tomorrow they will start tormenting consultants about pre-orders, deadlines and accessories.

Technically, the watch has also changed, now with the TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45 you can pay using Android Pay, improved the display, added a bunch of watch faces and there will also be a virtual studio to create your own watch faces.

Operating system Android Wear 2.0. With iOS, the functionality is not complete, the owners of fashionable smartphones on Android based rejoice. The operating time is 25 hours, I assume that everything is left as it was, at the end of the day it will need to be charged. On the official website they write that the watches are assembled in workshops in La Chaux-de-Fonds, that is, everything here is really Swiss Made. If desired, they can make a version with diamonds, in general, look for yourself on the official website.

If we talk about sports movements, then the watch has GPS, basic water protection. In general, you can use it in the gym if you do not plan to do boxing or something very active. Other specs: Intel Cloverdale Peak processor, RAM 512 MB, inner memory 4 GB, display diagonal 1.39 inches, sapphire crystal 2.5 mm thick (!).

It remains to add why it is good. Now the user has more freedom in terms of personalization and, if there is money, a module with a watch for a million rubles can be inserted into a silicone strap. Now it will be possible not only to wear a smart watch beautifully on your wrist, but also to pay for anything, which is a big plus. Now, those who want to get a smart watch, not like everyone else, have a TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45 for a hundred thousand, and this, of course, is good.

Finally, a bulk photo.

P.S. Personally, personification captivates me most of all, you can really assemble your watch from different parts, stir up your dial there, and in all this beauty the correct “tags” will still be very easy to identify.

We explain why smartwatches entered the ticking luxury market and occupied their niche in it

The fashion for smartwatches came to the world of premium timekeeping products three years ago. Then, at the largest thematic exhibition in Basel, Switzerland, several reputable manufacturers at once announced the release of watches, which had previously been quite difficult to imagine in their assortment.

However, due to the fact that the threshold for entry into this segment was initially incredibly high, the competition turned out to be within the power of very few. But in the market by 2018, a clear pool of figures was formed, developing in the field of smart luxury with purely positive dynamics.

Of course, first of all, one can name the brand among them, which by 2017 has prepared for its audience the second generation of the Connected collection. Unlike previous models of the family, now new items have come out in a new modular design.

Its main attractive feature was that the user could independently select combinations of not only straps, clasps and lugs, but also, in fact, the type of watch itself: electronic or mechanical (for example, a three-hand or COSC-certified watch).

The company has chosen an appropriate slogan for the concept of “fast fashion”, “See Now, Buy Now”, perfectly emphasizing the avant-garde spirit of TAG Heuer during the revolutionary Mikrograph and the brand’s proximity to the consumer, but now with an emphasis on electronic technology.

Customization as a lifestyle

Naturally, like any smart watch, the new collection was originally aimed at a youth audience. Therefore, it will be necessary to note that marketers have worked out an excellent strategy for introducing products to the market.

Firstly, among the ambassadors embodying the modern spirit of the Connected collection, the most prominent representatives of the creative environment today were invited: musicians, DJs, street art popularizers.

Alec Monopoly - graffiti artist and TAG Heuer Ambassador

Our interview with one of them, artist Alec Monopoly, who painted several clocks at an event at MAMM with his own hands, is available.

Secondly, Connected 45 starred in a Hollywood blockbuster immediately after entering the market. And what, if not cinema, increases popularity?

On the set of Kingsman: The Golden Ring, protagonist Gary “Eggsy” Price, played by Taron Egerton, wears a TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45. Image: kinopoisk.ru

The watch was used as the main spy tool in Kingsman: The Golden Ring, which was produced by Marv Films and 20th Century Fox. The film premiered on September 22, 2017. And, like any long-running project, this plot is clearly designed for more than one series.

Smart luxury: masculine and graceful

If a Swiss watch manufacturer is responsible for watch parts (the production of which uses only high-quality materials: gold, ceramics, titanium), as well as their assembly and final finishing, then electronic components and software - the area of responsibility of the two largest players in the IT market, based in the famous Silicon Valley. This is about Intel companies and Google.

So, all accessories of the second generation (unlike the first, additionally equipped with a GPS module) work on Intel processors Atom Z34XX, coupled with 410 mAh batteries providing them with up to 30 hours of continuous operation. The Android Wear 2.0 operating system is in charge of the functionality.

In addition to the 45mm case diameter, the manufactory has released another one designed for more refined wrists. The 41mm Connected Modular has the following improvements: the 390 x 390 AMOLED display now has a resolution of 326 PPI (up from the previous 287) and high brightness (maximum - 350 nits). The size of the memory card has increased to 8 gigabytes, and the RAM memory - up to 1 gigabyte.

Models with a 41 mm diameter case (presented so far in seven standard versions) operate on the basis of an operating room Android systems Wear and are compatible with Android 4.4, iOS 9 software. Like the Connected 45, they are up to 50 meters and are equipped with GPS system and an NFC sensor to pay for purchases.

We have become accustomed to the fact that smart watches have firmly entered our lives. Now it's time to get used to the fact that they can be not only practical, but also luxurious.
