There is no more need to puzzle over whether it is worth spending an impressive amount of money on the acquisition latest models iPhone with the best functionality. The novelty has similar features to the iPhone 6, 6s, 6 Plus and 6s Plus, with the exception of a few differences, which will be discussed below.

For iPhone SE, iPhone 6s/6s Plus models, 4 colors are provided - gold, silver, " gray space" and " pink gold". Just like 6s/6s Plus, a new version iPhone is equipped with A9 processor, 12-megapixel iSight camera. All devices support 1080p 120fps slow motion or 720p 240fps slow motion video.

Unlike the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone display SE (determining the force of pressing the screen). It is also worth noting that optical image stabilization is only available on the iPhone 6 Plus and 6s Plus.

Another difference is the volume internal memory. The iPhone SE is available in 16GB and 64GB versions, while the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are available in 16GB, 64GB and 128GB versions.

iPhone 6s camera test gallery

There was no revolutionary breakthrough in the quality of shooting. Increasing the resolution logically had a positive effect on image detail, but slightly negatively on the camera's performance in the dark. Everything is extremely logical, the simplest laws of physics work, reducing the distance between pixels, which Apple pressed in its presentation, cannot seriously affect anything.

Programmatic image processing can pull out the situation - and it really shows itself well: pay attention to natural colors and a fairly smooth, confident camera performance in all situations. Noise reduction allows you to count on the fact that pictures in poor lighting at least on Instagram will look normal. The iPhone is still equipped with a pretty universal camera, but she was not the best, so she did not become.

A more noticeable breakthrough occurred with the front camera - its resolution has grown from 1.2 to 5 megapixels. Selfies now look much more pleasant, there is at least some detail, and you can look at pictures from dark clubs without tears.

iOS 9

The new version of the Apple mobile operating system has not changed much in appearance, retaining the Flat Style corporate identity, set by the radical iOS update 7. The font has changed, plus a new, "marine" theme is used by default. By the way, pretty cute - looks fresh. You can argue a lot about the font, but one thing is for sure: you quickly get used to it.

The basic laws of navigation through the system have changed slightly. Now, as in iOS 7, to go to the search you need to swipe to the right. In addition to the search bar, Siri lives on this screen with a list of recommended applications. Siri, by the way, has learned to interact with applications currently open on the screen - this mode of operation of the assistant is called Proactive. And, alas, it is not yet available in Russia - Siri is learning Russian very slowly, you will have to wait again. The screen of open applications has been changed - the icons have become larger, and contact icons are not included in their number. The search itself has also changed: to the standard one - according to the memory of the smartphone - a new one has been added, according to the settings.

The Notes app has changed a lot. Now you can draw in it, create active lists with the ability to mark completed items and use it as a notepad for sketches. "Notes" is also integrated into various applications.

Important changes have been made to the keyboard: the case is now clearly visible, predictive typing has appeared, and a two-finger multi-touch gesture has been added, which allows you to select typed text.

Probably the most important innovation was the power saving mode. It turns on in the settings and lowers the processor frequency by 40%: from the standard 1.8 GHz to about 1 GHz. In an emergency, when the charge is low and you need your iPhone to simple applications and calls are very helpful. The battery icon, by the way, turns orange in this mode.

There are also many small changes: new icons, new fonts, small additional features, without which iPhone and iPad users will soon not be able to exist. For example, they include software definition connected headphones and tips from related apps.

In general, iOS 9 did not become some kind of revolutionary milestone in the development of the operating system - this is an ordinary annual update. And it, as usual, confirms Apple's reputation as a largely totalitarian company: we recall those removed from the window open programs contacts or a search that returned to a separate screen, which many were dissatisfied with. But it's Apple's ability to decide for itself what a user needs and doesn't want that many people love about iOS. Be that as it may, iOS 9 is a fast, beautiful and convenient operating system. But not too energy efficient - more on that below.

Offline work

One of the most controversial aspects of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus is the battery. Both new smartphones received batteries with a reduced (!) Capacity compared to their predecessors. The iPhone 6s has a 6.55 Wh (1715 mAh) battery versus 6.91 Wh (1810 mAh) for the iPhone 6, while the iPhone 6s Plus has a 10.45 Wh (2750 mAh) versus 11.56 Wh (2910 mAh) for the iPhone 6 Plus. Combined with a rather voracious operating system this leads to unfortunate consequences in terms of energy consumption.

The iPhone 6s was only able to play HD video at maximum brightness with Wi-Fi on and notifications for just over four hours. The iPhone 6s Plus lasted even less, almost reaching four hours, which is quite sad. Both smartphones are designed for daily recharging, and with very active use, you will have to “feed” them several times a day. The only salvation may be the energy efficiency mode, which allows you to reach the outlet at the cost of abandoning some of the functions. It turns out that in the pursuit of maintaining the thickness of smartphones, Apple splashed out something important along with the water.

Conclusion

The “new iPhone” is never chosen according to some objective criteria: the “s-iteration” is flying around no less actively than the number one, despite the fact that Apple has not made any breakthroughs, this is a completely ordinary update. He even looks the same! It would seem that the image factor should play a key role when buying a fresh iPhone. But no: a record iPhone sales 6/6 Plus was beaten with ease - 13 million in the first weekend against 10 million last year. So it’s useless to talk about any meaningfulness of replacing the iPhone 6 with 6s: while the “Apple magic” is working, the transition occurs automatically.

As for the impressions of the 6s and 6s Plus, they are mixed. The main camera shoots better in optimal lighting, but worse in poor lighting. 3D Touch is interesting, but not very useful yet - and at the same time, because of it, the battery capacity had to be reduced, otherwise it would not have been possible to save the dimensions. In our opinion, battery life is still more important than chips like 3D Touch, but it has decreased. The unequivocal pluses of the new iPhones are a significant jump in performance and an improved front camera, which is very important in the age of the winning selfie. You can also repeat and say about a hull that is more durable and waterproof in theory.

Be that as it may, Apple does not drop the quality bar, still creating great smartphones that are pleasant to deal with and will not disappoint. But Apple has forgotten how to surprise - and if it doesn’t learn again, the magic may one day be dispelled.

In 2014 Apple company abandoned the practice of releasing one smartphone and introduced two iPhone 6 models from the iPhone 6 plus. A year later, improved versions of these smartphones appeared with the prefix "s". These are iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s plus. In this article, we will look at these models and talk about how the iPhone 6s differs from the iPhone 6s plus and what advantages each of these models provides.

If we compare how the iPhone 6s differs from the iPhone 6s plus, then the first thing that catches your eye is the screen. The iPhone 6s plus got more than 4.7 inches for the iPhone 6s. The screen resolution has also changed. The iPhone 6s Plus received a resolution of 1920x1080 (with a pixel density of 401 dpi), and the iPhone 6s received a resolution of 1334x750 pixels (with a pixel density of 326 dpi).

There are still slight differences in the declared contrast of the screens. So the screen contrast regular version the iPhone 6s was 1400:1, while the larger iPhone 6s Plus was 1300:1. The rest of the screens are the same. They have the same brightness, full sRGB support, the same Taptic Engine and everything else.

Dimensions and weight

The second noticeable difference between the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s plus is their size and weight. Due to the larger iPhone screen 6s plus received more impressive dimensions and more weight.

The dimensions of the iPhone 6s plus are 77.9×158.2×7.3mm versus 67.1×138.3×7.1mm for the iPhone 6s. And the weight of the iPhone 6s plus is 192 grams versus 143 grams for the iPhone 6s.

Camera

Both smartphones received a proprietary camera from Apple called iSight. At the same time, the characteristics of this camera for both models are almost the same. It's a 12 megapixel sensor with a 1.22µm pixel size, ƒ/2.2 aperture and True Tone flash. The only difference between iPhone cameras 6s and iPhone 6s plus is .

iPhone 6s plus model received optical stabilization image mode, which allows you to capture clearer footage on the go or in low-light conditions. The front camera, also known as the FaceTime camera, is the same on both of these smartphones.

Battery

The last differences between the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s plus relate to the battery. Smartphone iPhone 6s plus received a more capacious battery that provides up to 24 hours of talk time and 80 hours of music listening.

While the iPhone 6s battery in the same operating modes can only provide 14 and 50 hours of battery life.

Other characteristics

Otherwise, the iPhone 6s is no different from the iPhone 6s plus, so it makes no sense to analyze the remaining characteristics in detail. Instead, we compiled a pivot table (differences highlighted in red).

The new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are out, and if you already answered yes to the question of whether to immediately buy a new product, you are faced with another one: should you buy a 4.7-inch iPhone 6s or a 5.5-inch iPhone 6s Plus? The resource named seven reasons why you should look towards the Apple phablet.

1. Big screen

Even a year after the release of the first iPhone 6 Plus, it would seem that adults have not stopped joking, comparing the size of a smartphone with a shovel. It's all nonsense. To the impressive size of the 6s Plus (it really seems huge, especially when you put it to your ear during telephone conversation) you get used to it in about a week. The same amount of time, by the way, is needed to get used to Apple Watch on your wrist and start to worry if the watch is suddenly not on your wrist, and with them there are no notifications.

The big screen is damn cool. With better pixel resolution, the 6s Plus model also gives a larger diagonal - you can’t distinguish individual pixels, and you don’t have to bring the smartphone myopically to your eyes, as if you were over 80. On this screen, everything looks as if after a weekly television program picked up a glossy magazine. It would be nice if only app icons, Instagram photos and letters looked better on it. On 6 Plus and 6s Plus, you can watch TV shows and not suffer from loss of quality. You, it turns out, even iPad Mini no longer needed, you can give it to the child.

2. More run time before recharging

When the battery of an iPhone 6s is running low, the iPhone 6s Plus feels great: in addition to a larger screen, it also has a larger battery. Not to say that it lasts twice as long as the iPhone 6, but it holds much more confidently and thus saves you from having to look everywhere for an outlet.

3. Full horizontal orientation

On iPhone 6s, not all applications and the desktop could be displayed in horizontal orientation. In the iPhone 6s Plus, the lion's share of applications (especially Apple branded ones) and the desktop can work in landscape layout.

4. Large keyboard

After a week with the iPhone 6s Plus, the keyboard on the iPhone 6s feels tiny. And it's not the size of the keys, but their number in horizontal mode- there are more of them by several buttons, which makes it more comfortable to write and edit texts.

5. More powerful camera

The iPhone 6s Plus is equipped with a better camera than the iPhone 6s: at least optical stabilization contributes to better shots.

6. Screen replacement

Let's say you have an iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus and you have broken the screen of your smartphone. AT official service you would not have the screen replaced - in such cases, the entire phone is replaced. So, the iPhone 6s Plus would be offered to you to exchange for more favorable conditions than the iPhone 6s: the gadget itself is more expensive, but its repair is cheaper than in the case of the iPhone 6s.

7. Rising popularity

“About a quarter of customers prefer the iPhone 6s Plus. This is somewhat more than last year, and indicates the growing popularity of the model with a larger screen diagonal, says Maria Zaikina, PR director of Svyaznoy. “The most popular colors are space gray and the brand new rose gold,” she adds. The rise in popularity of the iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 6s Plus should come as no surprise, and something tells us that timidity in front of large-screen phones will become less and less common.

And take him to replace Samsung, while staying with your iPhone 6 Plus? Indeed, in this case, I will get a new high-tech device, new experience and impressions, the best display to date (also curved) and other goodies, including the violent joy of the gadget lover living inside.

What do I get if I spend the same amount on an iPhone 6s Plus? Pretty much the same device. For example, new. Yes, and me, to be honest, personal iPhone 6 Plus suited everyone, including its performance in iOS 9. There are no critical complaints. However, I decided to rely on my experience. Indeed, in the past, this situation arose annually, I made a choice in favor of the new iPhone and have never regretted it.

Looking ahead, I note that history has repeated itself again. That is, better iPhone can only be new iPhone. But let's analyze this point in detail and in order.

Why "first impressions" and not a full review?

FROM traditional review I am late. Still, the phone went on sale more than a month ago and its reviews on the Web are already a dime a dozen. Why repeat? In this case, it is much more interesting and useful to write the experience of operating a personal gadget, sharing the details and nuances of its operation, as I did in the case of, and other devices. Next in line, and, of course, the happy owner of which I recently became.

But, as you know, first impressions are the brightest, the most interesting. Often, it is they who determine the subsequent attitude to the gadget and the scheme of its operation. If these impressions are not immediately transferred to the text, then literally in a week they will evaporate without a trace, or rather, they will be smeared with a thin layer over a future article on the topic of smartphone operating experience.

Physics

I prefer devices black color, but in the case of the iPhone 6 Plus at the time of its purchase, there was simply no alternative to white. Either I take white here and now, or I don’t know how much black I’m waiting for. I decided not to tempt fate, especially against the backdrop of last year's rush for a new product. In the case of the iPhone 6s Plus, there was no need to rush, so I waited for the model in my favorite black color, and I personally like this option much more than any other alternatives.

All this is a taste, however, black seems to be more monolithic (the windows of sensors and front camera) and looks better. In general, the dream to get a big black iPhone has finally come true. The fact that the back panel is gray instead of black doesn't bother me at all. On the contrary, I like it more than the blacker version in the old man. Gray and black colors contrast well with each other.

Many people expressed their concerns about the increased weight and thickness of the gadget, to the point that the device " just terribly heavy' according to them. Well, an extra 20 g ( 192 g against 172 g predecessor), of course, are felt, but for me they are completely uncritical. Including when I'm lounging on the couch reading with my phone in one hand above me.

On the personal experience operation is not negatively affected in any way. On the contrary, the smartphone feels even more solid. As for the thickness increased by 0.1 mm, this is generally imperceptible.

Much more important less slippery body at the novelty. This moment was wildly happy. I don’t know how it happened, but the grip has become more reliable, it’s easier to hold the phone in one hand. This is probably a feature of a new, more durable aluminum alloy, or the anodizing process has changed.

The problem of a slippery case is easily solved by using a case, but I prefer to work with the phone without extra “clothes” and only use my pocket, since I mostly carry my smartphone in my bag.

By the way, the phone heats up a little more than its predecessor, although nothing critical.

The display of both smartphones is almost identical. Unless the beginner has a slightly colder picture and likes it - the white color looks “whiter”. In addition, the light sensor responds more accurately, and automatic brightness the iPhone 6s Plus adapts to external conditions better. Although everyone has their own eyes, so this moment is individual.

The sound quality in the external speaker remained identical to its predecessor, according to the first sensations. Well, maybe a little more bass. In any case, the sound quality is excellent. In this regard, the iPhone 6/6 Plus and newcomers outperform most competitors.

Speed

In addition to being a dialer and a gadget for consuming content on the go, the iPhone is also my work tool for typing. That's what I'm talking about, so I won't repeat myself.

As you understand, the increased performance in the smartphone in this case will not be superfluous. After all, the process of typing is also working with a browser, mail, dictionary. You often have to switch between them, and the predecessor in the process reloaded the tabs of web pages or reloaded it, after which you again had to open the document, and these are unnecessary steps.

Some of this text is typed on an iPhone 6s Plus and I'll tell you, smartphone just flies! Previously, typing on the phone was more of a compromise, but now it is quite a comfortable practice. Pages do not reload, the editor is always open in the background, instant switching between applications, instant response on-screen keyboard after that - a fairy tale.

Feels like the device in typing mode works even faster iPad Air 2, which is not surprising. The processor is still faster, and the RAM is more productive.

Although I did not appreciate the phone in operation immediately after removing it from the box. Initially, I was delighted with how smooth and responsive the interface became. I can’t really complain about it in the predecessor, but the lags skipped, sometimes very noticeable. Now they are gone.

Still, 2 GB of RAM for iOS means a lot, and a much more productive processor too.

3D Touch

Here is another thing for which I decided to upgrade my already top-end smartphone. - it's just a bomb!

For me, an eternal headache while typing was moving the cursor to correct a mistake, change a word, etc. But now all this is done with one touch - there is simply no limit to delight!

You get used to the chip with moving the cursor on increased pressing from the first minutes and then it is difficult to refuse it. Press a little harder - and start highlighting desired text. Make a double click while moving the cursor (without lifting your finger from the screen) - select the word, triple click - the entire paragraph. Actually a fairy tale!

I also actively use 3D Touch for fast switching between two latest apps or go to the multitasking menu. With effort, make a swipe from the left edge of the screen to the right - there is a switch between the last two launched programs. If you stop the movement in the middle of the screen, then you will remain in the multitasking menu.

With this function, in principle, you do not need to return to the previous application (arrow " Back to:" in the top left corner). It was clearly introduced so that the owners of devices without Force Touch support would not be tense.

As for the use of 3D Touch technology in applications, I'm still getting used to it. Tritely forget that you can now perform many of the usual actions with one touch without entering the application. However, the longer I use the novelty, the more delighted I am with recognizing the power of touch. Quick view of notes, letters, tweets.

And all this is already working in many . For example, as mail client I use Spark[download from the App Store], and I browse my Twitter feed using [
