In this case, everything is quite simple: Huawei already has an advanced Honor 8, an even more sophisticated Honor 8 Pro, so it was logical to release a simpler device, which was called Honor 8 Lite. Despite the Lite prefix, the smartphone has not the most primitive parameters: 8 cores, 4 GB of RAM, a high resolution FullHD screen, relatively capacious 3000 mAh battery.

The cost of Honor 8 Lite in Russia is 16,000 rubles.

Design, dimensions, controls

From the point of view of appearance, the device 8 Lite repeats all the previous "eights": a slick body, glass, bright colors: blue, gold, white. There is also a version in black. In the picture, it is difficult to distinguish 8 Lite from just 8, mainly the absence of a second camera is striking. However, in real life, 8 Lite is much more primitive. This is expressed in the materials used. For example, in the younger version, the glass on both sides seems to be plastic to the touch, the side faces are also plastic, and, in my opinion, very simple and cheap. In addition, the main disadvantage is the lack of an oleophobic coating on both the front and back panels. If the front glass gets dirty, the finger slides badly, then the rear glass feels constantly wet. I don’t even know how to explain it correctly: you just have to take the phone in your hand, and it immediately becomes slippery.

Frankly, I don’t understand what’s happening with Huawei: Honor 8 and 8 Pro have an oleophobic coating, while the flagships P10/P10 Plus and the affordable 8 Lite don’t. Silly economy or strange miscalculation?

Otherwise, there are no problems: excellent assembly, no squeaks and backlashes, thickness is only 7.6 mm, weight is small - 147 grams, fits perfectly in the hand.

On the top of the front panel there are a camera, sensors, an indicator of missed events (on the right in the corner) and speaker. It is loud, the interlocutor is heard clearly and legibly, the sound is mid-frequency.

At the bottom end on the left is a microphone, in the center is a microUSB connector (why not Type-C?), on the right is a speakerphone.

The power button and volume rocker are on the right edge, and on the left is a combo slot (2XnanoSIM,nanoSIM+microSD). At the top there is a 3.5 mm headphone jack and an additional microphone.

The data obtained is much higher than the values ​​​​of the sRGB triangle, but the triangle itself is shifted upwards.

Judging by the calibrator data, the color reproduction is typical for a simple IPS matrices, brightness and contrast are excellent, gamma jumps a lot - which means that at minimum brightness there will be a loss in bright areas, and at maximum - in dark areas.

The device has an eye protection mode that reduces the level of UV radiation of the screen, prevents eye fatigue during prolonged use of the smartphone.

In my mode of operation, the gadget functioned for 24 hours: about 30 minutes of calls, constant synchronization with Wi-Fi (from 9.00 to 02.00, Twitter, mail, Skype, Whatsapp), several hours of LTE. The glow of the screen in this mode is 3 - 3.5 hours. If you turn on LTE and work in the same mode from 12 noon, the device will be discharged to 20-30% by 12 at night. The glow of the screen will be about 3 hours.
