And most importantly, they have everything you need by default: large displays with decent resolution, full-fledged, non-mobile processors, a set of connectors and ports that are important in the work, built-in webcams and speakers. Such an all-inclusive program from the world of desktop PCs.

HP EliteOne 800 G3 is another proof that in terms of convenience and versatility, monoblocks have practically no competitors.

HP has long developed its own unique design style. The company's products are easy to distinguish from the mass of analogues, and the new EliteOne is no exception. The metal frame around the display is incredibly narrow - only 6 millimeters: when you look at the screen, it seems that the picture is literally floating in the air. In addition, this design will appeal to those who are used to working with several displays at the same time: due to the narrow edges, several screens can be visually practically connected into one.

Externally, the EliteOne 800 G3 echoes the HP Specter x360, and this is, for a moment, one of the most beautiful laptops today. The same soft silver color, the same pattern of speaker grilles under the screen, as if embroidered on metal with a thin needle.

In general, the monoblock gives the impression of a status device - it is not a shame to put this on the table in the office of a member of the board of directors.

It is all the more pleasant that EliteOne does not disappoint on the “iron” part either. Here great screen: calm, neat colors, decent contrast, nice non-reflective anti-reflective coating fluorescent lamps. Fans of juicy, rich images may be a little disappointed, but even after many hours of work on a candy bar, the eyes do not get tired. Depending on the version of the EliteOne 800 G3, the screen can be touchscreen and have Full HD or 4K resolution.

The buyer can choose the configuration of the computer to your taste: options are available with Intel processors from Core i3 to Core i7-7700K. The last one is a real monster. Bracketing the ten-core killer i7-6950X, this is the most powerful consumer processor to date. The benchmark results speak for themselves. The processor convincingly shows itself both in synthetics and in real life: in order to load it 100%, you need to try very hard.

With graphics in a monoblock, everything is somewhat more modest, however, no one expects the graphic power of gaming PCs from such a device. HP offers two options to choose from: integrated Intel or discrete AMD Radeon RX 460 GFX based on the Polaris architecture. In the latter case, it will even be possible to play something after work: League of Legends or Counter-Strike, Global Offensive this video card will "pull". In addition, it will allow you to work normally with video content.

high speed work is also supported by SSD-drives, which have already become the standard in laptops of the highest class and are now rapidly gaining ground in the niche of desktop PCs.

I am glad that HP did not follow the fashion for unifying connectors and leaving only Type-C in the EliteOne 800. Maybe they really are the future, but it has not yet arrived, and it is still more convenient for users to have a classic USB port. The monoblock has six of them - four at the back and two at the bottom, on the lower edge of the case. And in general, the set is rich: there is also a slot for an SD card, and a connector for network cable, and Display-Port with HDMI. HP even built a DVD drive into the case - it beautifully slides out of the side face when pressed. And yes, USB-C is still not forgotten: it is alone here, hiding in the lower right corner of the monoblock.

But there are two 3.5-jacks at once: one hybrid - for connecting a headset with a microphone, the second regular - for headphones. Convenient if you want to show a colleague multimedia content with sound. However, headphones may not be required for this. That very beautiful impressive speaker grille under the display is not a props. The sound is very loud, comparable to inexpensive wireless speakers, which is a very decent result for monoblocks. I am glad that the partnership with Bang & Olufsen did not end on paper and the Danish acoustic masters really worked on the sound of the EliteOne 800 G3, there is even an active noise reduction system. And thanks to HP Audio Boost technology, which optimizes the frequency balance depending on the nature of the sound, the speech of the interlocutors is clearly audible even during conference calls.

In an interesting way, HP treated the webcam: you won't find it on the case of a candy bar. It is hidden inside and comes out when you press a special place on the top edge of the case. The solution is not only elegant (“the peephole” can always be removed so that it does not an eyesore), but also safe: by removing the camera, you will know for sure that intruders are not spying on you. No irony, if situations like this were just stories from the Internet, Mark Zuckerberg would not have sealed his computer camera with duct tape. It is unlikely that anyone can complain about the quality of shooting: Full HD resolution at thirty frames per second is more than enough for video conferencing.

In general, when creating EliteOne, HP specialists approached the issue of security very seriously. Depending on the configuration of the monoblock, you can protect your data in three ways at once, and two of them are biometric. First, using the fingerprint scanner. These sensors have proven themselves in the world of mobile electronics, they are fast and reliable. All you need to unlock your computer is just put your finger on the scanner.

Secondly, with the help of an infrared camera that scans the retina of the eye. Everything is like in films about secret agents: we look through the “eye”, the computer recognizes the unique pattern of the visual organ and, if it matches, lets you inside. You don't even have to touch anything.

Well, the latter will come in handy for those who do not part with their smartphone for a minute: by creating a pair between a monoblock and mobile device, you will be able to unlock with the latter.

Finally, a little about the stand. It is easy to describe it in one word - comfortable. The screen can be rotated approximately 45 degrees to different sides and effortlessly move up or down. And if you want, you can even remove the monoblock entirely.

In general, the HP EliteOne 800 G3 is an excellent functional monoblock. Powerful, with a beautiful, thoughtful design, a wide range of connectors for additional connections and a large high-quality screen. It's practically perfect choice for those who appreciate performance, but do not want to sacrifice comfort and personal space.

Model Benefits

Specifications

HP ENVY Pro All-in-One is a productive all-in-one with an unusual curved screen. The 34-inch ultra-wide screen with a resolution of 3440×1440 is curved so that all elements of the image are located at the same distance from the eyes of the operator. This not only facilitates the view, but also contributes to the preservation of vision.

The computing core of the monoblock is Intel processor Core i7-6700T with 8 threads and 8 MB cache. This processor contains built-in graphics core. In the standard configuration of HP ENVY Pro, the proposed models contain an integrated Intel HD Graphics 530 graphics card, optional modifications are available with an installed discrete NVIDIA graphics card GeForce GTX 960A with 2 GB of video memory.

The maximum amount of supported DDR4 RAM is 8 GB. The hard drive is a 256 GB SSD.

The HP ENVY Pro All-in-One comes with standard USB ports 3.0, RG-45, HDMI ( separate ports for incoming and outgoing signal), headphone and microphone jack.

Ease of use

The use of Adaptive Vertical Sync technology eliminates frame judder and image tearing. As the number of frames increases, V-sync automatically corrects image tearing and turns off when you decrease the number of frames to reduce judder. This function relevant in games and dynamically changing images.

The 6-speaker Bang&Olufsen audio system delivers crystal-clear sound even in noisy environments. The filtering system automatically filters out noise, making the voice clearer and more intelligible. With HP ENVY Pro, you can conduct video conferences with a large number of participants in a common room.

The Intel RealSense webcam can be used for facial recognition and system authorization when turned on Windows features Hello, perform 3D scanning, control the monoblock with gestures.
