Order in the computer is the key to user well-being - no glitches, maximum performance. Yes, and it is clear visually where which file lies, what programs are installed, what they are for.

But if, on the contrary, chaos reigns on PC disks ... - this is definitely a problem. But, fortunately, fixable. Any obscenity (files and folders, unnecessary programs) can be removed from the computer manually and using special utilities. For information on how to properly and quickly carry out "cleaning" on hard drive drives, read this article.

All in one fell swoop out of sight…

Before globally deleting everything that is on the computer, I clean it up, of course, you must first review all sections once more. Suddenly, after all, somewhere in the folder, something useful was stale: a photo, video, text files with passwords and logins, reports or other valuable documents.

When you are 100% sure that you do not regret anything from the available data in the directories, start cleaning.

Option number 1: if the disk is not a system one

If you need to quickly "unload" a disk partition that does not have a system, that is, delete everything from it completely, do not bother painstakingly dragging files to the trash, but simply take it and format it.

1. Click right click on the drive from which you want to delete all files.

2. In the system menu that appears, click the "Format" item.

3. In the formatting settings panel, in the option " File system”, set the value to “NTFS”, in “Cluster size” - 4096 bytes.

  • Windows 7: open the start menu; dial in cmd line and press "Enter".
  • Windows 8: right-click on the Windows icon (the very first icon in the taskbar).

2. At the command line, enter the command:

format:
(for example, to format drive D, you need to enter - format d:)

3. Press "Enter".

4. In the prompt line "Start formatting ...", type the letter Y (Yes) and press "Enter" again.

Option number 2: formatting drive C (system partition)

The partition on which Windows is stored cannot be deleted using the method described above. Drive C is formatted with special utility from the installation disk operating system and then, respectively, the OS is installed.

1. Insert the Windows installation disc into your DVD drive.

2. In the "Start" panel, in the "Shut down" menu, launch the "Restart" function.

3. While the computer is restarting, hold down the "F8" key.

4. Select the option to boot from DVD from the menu that opens.

Note. The boot setting on your PC can be activated by another key (for example, "F2" or "F11").

5. In the window " Windows installation» select the interface language "Russian". Click next.

6. Click the mouse in the list to select the drive on which the system is installed.

7. In the control panel, click "Disk Settings".

8. Select the "Format" command.

Upon completion of the operation, all files, programs and other elements from drive C will be deleted, and you can immediately start installing the OS clean.

How to remove everything unnecessary from the C drive?

Selective cleaning system partition should be carried out regularly. This requirement is primarily related to the specifics of Windows operation. (In the course of its operation, unnecessary files in separate directories are accumulated arbitrarily, without user intervention). And then, you run less risk of losing useful content and valuable data (that is, deleting something very necessary from the C drive during the formatting process).

Method number 1: activating the regular function

1. Run the system computer cleanup utility.

  • Windows 7: open "Start"; in the search bar, enter "disk cleanup"; select drive C from the drop-down menu; click "ok";
  • Windows 8: right-click on the shortcut "Windows" (in the taskbar); click "Find"; in the panel that opens, type "disk cleanup"; in the menu, click "Free up disk space ...".

2. Wait for the directory analysis to complete (on average, the utility takes 2-3 minutes to complete this task).

3. In the settings window, on the "Disk Cleanup" tab, check the boxes by clicking the mouse next to the elements that need to be deleted or cleaned.

4. In the window that opens, click "Delete Files".

Advice! Can get rid of control points OS recovery (if you don't plan to use them!). Go to the "Advanced" tab and in the "Recovery ..." block, click the "Clear" button. Confirm the launch of the function in the additional window.

Method number 2: cleaning up the disk with cleaner utilities

Exists great amount programs that free drive C from "digital trash" in automatic and semi-automatic mode. In this short tutorial, we will look at the most popular solutions.

We destroy useless media content

Remember Plyushkin from the book "Dead Souls" by N.V. Gogol? Well, mountains, or rather tens and hundreds of gigabytes of seemingly useful, but seemingly useless content on the disks of your PC clearly indicate that you are very similar to this literary hero...

Books, movies, TV series, huge software distributions, games that are not really needed take up precious free space. disk space. And they also burden the user with the need to constantly increase it when you need to download something else.

1. Right-click on the file or folder you want to destroy. And then in context menu click Remove.

2. Don't forget to empty the Trash when cleaning is complete. Also, hover over it, right-click and select "Empty Trash".

Get rid of unnecessary programs

Standard uninstall

5. Follow the instructions of the uninstaller.

Removing software with special utilities

(instruction for using Soft Organizer)
If a useless application for some reason, you cannot remove it from the PC in the standard way, or you want to perform a more thorough cleaning of the disk directories, it is more advisable to use uninstaller programs (for example, Revo Uninstaller, Uninstall Tool). They not only remove software elements, but also neutralize their remnants in other folders, in the system registry.

Consider the option of uninstallation using the Soft Organizer utility:

1. Click in the software catalog to select the application that you want to remove.

2. Click the Uninstall a program button.

3. Perform a standard uninstallation, and then remove the remnants of the application (follow the prompts of Soft Organizer).

Happy cleaning! Do not be lazy, your diligence and efforts will pay off handsomely. The computer will work faster, you will spend a minimum of time searching for useful data in the directories of disk partitions.

Remove the program from the computer- it would seem, what is easier? Standard Windows tools this is done through a special item in the Control Panel.

For Windows 7 and Windows 8 we go:

Start - Control Panel - Programs and Features (when viewing "Large/Small Icons")

Start - Control Panel - Uninstall a program (when viewing "Category")

For Windows XP:
Start - Control Panel - Add or Remove Programs.

the uninstaller will start, which is included with the program itself, and you can safely remove it, guided by the prompts in the window.

You can also uninstall the program using special file which is most commonly called Uninstall and is located in the program folder in Program Files. But this method is for perverts of more inquisitive users, as well as if in the list installed programs There is no name for this program in the Control Panel.

This is how most novice users are deleted. And it's good if they know where this item is located in the Control Panel. And sometimes they don't even know. But that's another story...

But this method has one drawback. The fact is that during installation, the program not only creates its own folders and files (which can be immediately seen in Programm Files, on the Desktop, in the Start menu, Panel quick launch etc. - depends on the program and how you want), but it also writes its paths to , adds itself to autoload, creates additional folders, adds an item to the context menu, creates and much more. It depends on the program itself. All this together is often called "tails" or "garbage".
And when you uninstall programs in the standard way, it is not always possible to clean up these very tails, even if the uninstaller asks for a reboot (and I strongly recommend agreeing to this point). But the program is still deleted, and the garbage remains. You don't notice him because he doesn't bother you. And over time, this trash becomes quite a lot (with frequent installation and removal of programs) and from it the computer begins to "slow down", conflict, disk space decreases, etc.
For these purposes, special cleaner programs have been invented, but about them in another article. And now I will give you a couple of good free programs with a Russian interface that will help you fully delete the program along with its tails and remnants.

IObit Uninstaller- a wonderful program to remove programs that do not require installation.

to select the Russian language, click on the link above More- Language - Russian

An excellent program that may well replace standard delete programs. You can "throw" on a flash drive.
You can simply put it on the desktop and run it when you delete it.
What else is good about it:
  • It creates a restore point each time before deleting, so that in case of an incorrect deletion or if the wrong one was deleted, it will be possible to return everything as it was by making a "rollback" of the system.
  • You can forcefully remove even those programs that are running and the standard removal does not allow you to do this.
  • Removes the tails of those programs that were removed in the standard way.
  • It is possible to uninstall several programs at once with one click.
  • Can be deleted windows updates(all or certain).
  • Sorts programs by recent and occupied space.
  • You can find information about the program on the Internet (if you do not know what it is for) by right-clicking and selecting "Search online" from the context menu.
    and many more interesting things.

When uninstalling, it will display a confirmation message, then delete it and ask you to do a "Powerful Scan" in which it looks for all the garbage left from the program.

Video from Americans about this program

You can download this wonderful program from the link with.

Revo Uninstaller- this product is much more serious than the previous one and the size of the installation file is almost 5 times larger. And all this is due to its components:

  • Auto Start Manager– management of startup programs in Windows.
  • Windows Tools Manager– calling standard Windows system utilities.
  • Junk File Cleaner– Search and delete unnecessary files.
  • Browsers History Cleaner- clear history in IE, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Netscape. Deletes temporary files and , Index.dat files and all history (pages, downloads and form fills).
  • Office History Cleaner– deleting the history of all used files in MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Front Page.
  • Windows History Cleaner- cleaning system history, temporary files and other traces of work on the computer.
  • Unrecoverable Delete Tool- secure deletion of files and folders without the possibility of recovery.

In general, this is just a combine, the basis of which is the removal of programs, and then the auxiliary modules that are described above.
And everything would be fine, but such a program simply cannot be without a catch, and there is one - this is that it is free for 30 days. But I think this time will be enough for you to do everything you wanted with its help.

Video from the developers of the program, about its innovations

You can download a program for "smart" removal of programs along with garbage - you can follow the link from.

Geek Uninstaller - a program for removing programs and their "tails". It does not require installation (portable) and works under all versions of Windows 7/8/XP/Vista/2003/2008.

The interface of the program is simple to disgrace:

It immediately shows a list of installed programs. Below there is a search by name (you need to enter). The lower bar shows how many programs and their volume.
The program list can be exported to HTML file for later viewing in .

On the menu Actions you can find out the program entries in and the file location folder (they will open themselves when selected).

In addition, you can remove an entry from this list and search in search engine Google the name of this program.
You can just uninstall the program Actions -> Uninstall), then the uninstall wizard of the program itself will start and will uninstall in the standard way, and then the program will display a message about possible "tails" and suggest deleting them.
You can also choose Forced deletion, which is useful for uninstalling programs that require a password to uninstall or when the program cannot be uninstalled in the standard way.
As a result of the actions of these options, a scan will start

then a window will appear containing a report on the "tails" found

Well, after pressing the button Delete The program will report successful completion.

The overall impression of the program is quite good. Especially when you consider that you do not need to install and can be carried with you. All that is needed is present and removes qualitatively and completely.

I will add that it is better to use programs for complete removal programs.

  • Not infrequently, when trying to remove a program, users are faced with the fact that the program is not removed. When trying to start the uninstallation of the program through the "Control Panel", the user receives an error that interrupts the uninstallation process. After that, the program remains on the computer.

If you also don't know how to uninstall a program that won't uninstall, then this article should help you. Here we consider three simple and effective ways solutions to this problem.

Method number 1. Stop all processes that are associated with the program.

If the program is not removed, then most likely it is in this moment works. In order to stop the program, open " " (for example, using the key combination CTRL + SHIFT + ESC) and go to the list of processes. In the list of processes, you need to find those processes that are associated with the program and stop them.

If you have Windows 8 or Windows 10, then you need to right-click on the process you want to end and select End task from the menu that appears. On Windows 7 and older Windows versions, the menu item you need will be called "End Process".

After all processes associated with the program are stopped, you need to try again to uninstall the program. If a this way did not help to remove the program, then try restarting the computer and try again. Perhaps something has hung up on you and thus blocked the removal of the program.

Method number 2. Use a special program to remove programs.

If the program is not removed even after a reboot, then you can try to remove it using special program. Most popular program this kind is . This program allows you to remove any other programs. At the same time, uninstallation is possible even in cases where the uninstaller does not work or the program is not displayed in the control panel.

Using Revo Uninstaller is quite simple. First you need to run this program and wait until it scans your computer and displays all installed programs. After that, you need to right-click on the program you want to remove and select "Uninstall".

After that, a window will appear in which you need to select a method for uninstalling the program. In most cases, the "Moderate" option will do.

Here you can click on the "Select All" button and confirm the deletion by clicking on the "Next" button.

Method number 3. Remove the program through safe mode.

If none of the above helps to remove the program, then you need to boot the computer into and try again.

AT safe mode only the main components of the operating system are loaded, other programs that can block the removal are not loaded. Therefore, in safe mode, the removal should go without problems.

To make sure that any program can be removed from your computer, you need to read the article completely and carefully. Before we begin to understand how to uninstall a program from Windows computer 7, XP or 8, we must first mention standard procedure, since perhaps unsure computer users do not know how this is done.

Uninstalling programs is possible without installation additional programs to do this, go to "Start" - "Settings" - "Control Panel" - "Add or Remove Programs" (Windows XP), and for other versions, "Start" - "Control Panel" - "Uninstall a Program" - standard way to remove programs.

But when deleting in this way, it is likely that registry entries and folders will remain in the system. In a word, garbage that will remain on your device. This data can cause crashes, system freezes and, of course, they take up space on your hard drive.

To solve this problem, we use free program Revo Uninstaller, which will quickly remove the program and even the program that is not removed in the standard way. Revo Uninstaller is a good addition to the system, because with this utility you will remove non-removable programs with created registry entries, folders, settings files, and more. A little lower, I will talk about how to remove a program that is not removed, and even when it is not on the list for removal.

Now let's get started, install the program and I'll show you how to uninstall the program using this utility. You can download the program.

Installing Revo Uninstaller to remove programs

After downloading the program, run the installation file. Select "Russian" and click "OK".

Check the box "I accept the terms of the agreement." Click "Next".

    Click "Install".

The program is installed on your computer. We click "Finish".

    How to use Revo Uninstaller

After installation, run the program, and the main window of the program will open on the screen. You will have to wait a little while the program collects data about the programs that are installed on your computer. After a few seconds, the program is ready to work, now select the program you want to remove and click the "Delete" button, which is located in the top horizontal menu. Using the AIMP player as an example, I will clearly show what to do if the program is not removed from the computer. Select AIMP with the left mouse button and click the "Delete" button.

The program will ask you to confirm the deletion, click "YES".

In the next window, you need to select the uninstallation mode. There are 4 types of modes in this program: built-in, safe, medium and advanced. We choose advanced, as it performs a deep analysis of the registry, folders and program links. This mode is slower than all the others, please be patient. We press "Next".

The program will analyze and run built-in program uninstaller, which is built into AIMP. If you are prompted to click "Next", "Next", "Uninstall", "OK", or something like that, then feel free to click. If you do not have a built-in uninstaller, then you need to go the other way, which is described below (Hunting mode). After uninstalling the program, you need to click "Next" to search for files, folders and entries in the registry.

On average, scanning takes about 10 to 60 seconds, depending on the amount of information being processed. When the scan is finished, click "Next".

When scanning: entries in the registry, files and folders, they may not be found, which means that the uninstaller has worked its function 100 percent. If the scanner found entries in the registry, check the "My Computer" box. Click the "Delete" button and click "Next".

In the screenshot above, we only deleted branches and settings in the registry, but we delete shortcuts, folders and data in the next step. To delete the data found by the scanner, click "Select All", so as not to check each line, click "Delete", and the last step is "Next".

The removal procedure is completed, click "Finish".

If the program is not in the list for uninstalling programs (Hunting mode)

It happens that the program is not in the list, but is in the tray or there are pop-ups of the program that needs to be removed. Especially for such cases, Revo Uninstaller has a "Hunting Mode" function, which often saves me.

Attention! Sometimes when aiming at a program being removed, it works falsely. That is, point to the program you want to remove, and a message appears that you are going to remove a completely different application or this action is impossible. In this case, you need to try to find other windows to use the hunting mode.

How to work with "Hunt Mode"

To switch to the “hunting mode”, you need to click on “Hunting mode” in the program window.

The program window will automatically minimize and in the right upper corner A blue sight will appear on the desktop, which you need to point at the program by holding the left mouse button.

We aim at a shortcut, a message, a window, a tray icon, in short, at any program object. letting go left button mouse, you will be offered a choice, in our case, to remove the program, click "Uninstall".

To complete a review of this program, I'll tell you a little about the additional features of Revo Uninstaller.

The program has tools for optimizing Windows:

    • Autorun Manager - disable / enable programs that are loaded with Windows. This procedure can be done without programs, to understand how to disable autorun programs, read the article.
    • Windows Toolkit - allows you to start services on the system .
    • Junk File Cleaner - Removes temporary files, browsers and Microsoft Office.

If you can't uninstall the program, you can try to do it manually. Check out the following article: "".

Tell me more about the job additional features I won’t, they are easy to manage and with a Russian description.

Most novice computer users cannot, if necessary, properly remove the program from the computer. What do they do when they need to uninstall a program? Most often, they simply find the folder with the program and send it to the trash, that is, they simply delete it.

On the one hand, it seems that everything is correct and the program has been deleted, because the folder weighed several tens of megabytes, and now this place has been freed up. But no! Other parts of it most often remain on the computer: data about the work in the program, entries in the registry and other "garbage". And over time, the remnants of these programs, after deletion, become more and more, and the user wonders where a couple of hundred more megabytes, or even a couple of gigabytes, have gone. And this is possible.

And it also happens that the user simply removes the program shortcut from the desktop, and thinks that everything is in order and the program is completely removed. Of course, this is not the right thing to do!

And today we will study with you uninstall programs correctly. Consider a couple of ways to remove software: standard means Windows and separately installed programs for thorough cleaning.

The easiest and most correct way to uninstall a program is to open "Start", go to " Control Panel».

In the window that opens, select " The installing and deleting of programms". This method is for those who have Windows XP.

And if you have Windows 7, then in your case this item is " Uninstalling a program».

We go there, and a window appears in front of us, where we see a list of all installed programs on our computer. We find the program that you want to remove and click on the button " Remove".

In the window that opens, we confirm our intention to uninstall the program by clicking " Next" or " Remove", It can also be in English the word " Uninstall».

The program will be completely removed from the computer.

In Windows 7, programs are uninstalled in the same way, only the windows are slightly different.

It is also worth saying that the right option is also a way to uninstall a program from a folder by running the Uninstall. Most often, this file is there, and if we go to the folder where the program is installed and run this file Uninstall, then we can also remove the program.

Note! Using the standard method for uninstalling programs, you need to remember that at least once a month you need to carry out how this is done, I told in the lesson at the link in this sentence.

For more complete removal of programs there is a separate developed software. This option may also come in handy in cases where, with the above method, it is not possible to uninstall the program, since it is simply not in the list of installed software.

One of these programs is called Revo Uninstaller, it is not difficult to find it. For example, on the official website, you can download a free, latest version by following this link http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html and scrolling down the page.

Save this program to your computer and install. I don't think it will be difficult.

We launch Revo Uninstaller and see that its interface is quite simple. By default, we have the " Uninstaller" tab open, which displays all installed programs.

We can click on any program icon with the right mouse button and select the item " Uninstall", To completely remove the program from the computer.

Revo Uninstaller analyzes files related to the program we are uninstalling.

After we delete the program itself,

Revo Uninstaller will prompt you to search for the remaining files.

It will scan the registry and other places, you need to wait a bit.

We will be prompted to delete the entries in the registry that the program left behind. There you need to check the boxes in front of the items highlighted in bold and click " Delete", then " Next».

We also delete the found files and folders on the disk itself related to the program.

This is how we completed the complete removal of the program from the computer.

Most often, this list displays all programs, even those that are not in the standard uninstaller. But if suddenly there is no such program that you want to remove, then there is a fallback.

Go to the "Hunter Mode" tab.

Revo Uninstaller immediately minimizes and appears in the upper right corner with only such an icon, in the form of a sight.

Open the program that we want to remove, then point the sight at the program window and click on this sight icon. And in the menu that opens, select the item " Uninstall».

We confirm the removal and also go through several stages: choosing the uninstallation mode, completely removing the program, cleaning from the remaining files.

In fact, there are a huge number of programs, both paid and free, that are designed to remove software, but the essence is the same everywhere. And even free version Revo Uninstaller does its job well.

And if you are interested in other topics on working with deleting files and programs, then I recommend reading my following lessons:

That's all! I wish you good luck with uninstalling programs!
