You are faced with such a situation, shortcuts on the desktop have stopped running. Perhaps not only shortcuts, but also the programs themselves (files with the exe extension) do not even start. You are in a panic, not knowing what to do in such cases, you call the Master or carry a computer or laptop to Service center, although in fact, having little knowledge, you will be able to solve not only these problems, but also many others. This is what this article and the entire Site as a whole is aimed at.

So, what to do if shortcuts on the desktop do not start.

Why shortcuts do not open or are opened by one program

This happens for many reasons - sometimes we ourselves are to blame, incorrectly setting the opening of shortcuts or executable files through a particular program. (In this case, when you try to launch a program shortcut or exe file, you may open some completely different program - a browser, notepad, archiver, etc.). Perhaps this is a product of a malicious software.

Our job is to fix this.

An easy way to solve the error is to search the Internet for files to fix this error. Keywords to search - fix exe and fix lnk . You need to find files with .reg extension (pay attention to Windows version in the description) and import data from them into your registry.

Description of how to solve the problem manually, BELOW.

If exe files do not start (instruction for Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10)

We restore the launch of programs on the command line. To do this, press the key combination Win + R

The Run utility will open where we write cmd and click OK.

After this it will open Command line.

At the command line, type notepad and press Enter - Notepad will start.

In notepad, paste the text below:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.exe] “exefile”=hex(0):

Choose File - Save As from the menu

In the file type field, change the text document to " all files".

Set the encoding to Unicode.

save the file with the extension We write any name (in the picture 1) .reg to drive C. and click Save.

Perhaps the System will not let you go along This Save Path, requiring Admin Rights. Then Save to Desktop, and then copy to Drive C.

We return to command line and enter the command: REG IMPORT C:\ save_file_name.reg in my case REG IMPORT C:\1.reg

On Windows 10, this procedure can be done in a different way. Move the cursor to Saved File and press the right mouse button, in the window that appears, click Merge.

We answer the system's request for entering data into the register "Yes"

Restart your computer- programs should run as before.

In this article, I will tell you about the ten most common reasons why programs do not install. You will learn about the symptoms of a particular cause and be able to diagnose and eliminate it yourself.

So, let's go - a dozen reasons why programs on Windows are not installed.

The most common cause why programs are not installed, this is the lack of a system library NET Framework required version. This library contains resources that are needed for the normal operation of a particular program. Therefore, if it is not there, then the program will not be able to install.

It is recommended to install everything on your computer .NET versions Framework from 2.0 up to the oldest that your Windows supports. This will ensure the normal operation of all programs compatible with your OS.

To find out which version of the NET Framework is installed on your computer, click on the "Start" button, select "Control Panel", then open the "Programs" section, and then - "Programs and Features" (example for Windows 7).

You can download the versions that you are missing on the Microsoft website, .

As a rule, if programs are not installed due to the lack of the required NET Framework, a message appears indicating the version that needs to be downloaded.

Lack of Visual C++ and Direct X required version

The next common reason why programs fail to install is the lack of Visual C++ and Direct X components. Visual C++ is required for programs that are written in the popular C++ language, and Direct X is required for most games. As with the NET Framework, there is different versions these components.

You can find out the version of Visual C ++ in the same way as you can find the NET Framework - in the "Programs and Features" section.

And in order to find out the version of Direct X, click "Start" and open "Run" (or ctrl + R). Write down the dxdiag command and click OK.

As a rule, if the program is not installed due to the absence of these components or their correct version, a corresponding message appears. The required versions of Visual C++ can be downloaded, and Direct X .

Incorrect bitness of Windows

Windows can be 32 or 64 bit. On 64-bit operating systems, you can install 32-bit and 64-bit programs. And on the 32nd bit systems only a 32-bit program will work. Therefore, you will not be able to install a 64-bit program on it.

To determine the bit depth of the system, click right click to "Computer" and select "Properties".

The capacity of the program can be found in its description. If it does not fit, then an appropriate error will appear during the installation process.

Corrupted installation file

If during the installation of the program an error occurs that the installation file is damaged, then you should get this file again. This can happen due to the fact that the program file has not been completely downloaded, or has been posted on the site already damaged. To solve the problem, you need to try to download the program installation file from another location.

Missing Required DLL

A rare reason why programs are not installed is the absence of some libraries in the system that should have been in it by default. This happens if you use an unofficial Windows assembly or those libraries were removed intentionally.

The problem manifests itself in a message that swears at some DLL file.

To solve it, you need to download the required dll file and place it in the correct directory (in system32 or SysWOW64). You can download the libraries.

After that, you should register the library. To do this, click "Start" and select "Run" (or keys ctrl + R). Then write cmd and click OK. Libraries are registered on the command line with the regsvr32 file.dll command, where file.dll is the name of the library file.

Software build curves

A common reason why programs are not installed is the crooked hands of pirates who hack them and give them to you for free, or somehow modify them, that is, they make their own assembly (repack). To avoid this, check out the comments of those who have already tried what you are installing.

It is difficult to say what errors can be when installing such programs. It could be anything.

Without administrator rights

If you work in an office, then you may find that your user does not have administrator rights. Your System Administrator may intentionally prevent the installation of programs. To resolve this, contact him for help.

This can happen not only in the office, but also at home if your user on the PC does not have administrator rights.

Blocking by security programs

All computers have antiviruses and some software can be blocked by them. This is also a common reason why programs are not installed. Solving it is simple - disable your antivirus or other security program and install the program. If necessary, add this software to the trusted list in the antivirus or security program.

Be carefull. If you are not sure about the reliability of the source of the program, then it is better not to install it if the antivirus swears.

Conflicts with incompletely removed old versions of programs

If you are updating a version of the program, and first uninstalled the old one, and then try to install a new one, then a conflict may occur if the components old version have not been completely removed. This often happens when using the standard Windows uninstaller.

To fix this problem, you need to uninstall all components previous version manually. You can also use cleaner programs such as CCLeaner.

The reasons due to which the programs installed on the computer suddenly stop working or even run at all - great amount. Unfortunately, many of them are of an extremely specific nature, associated with certain software and technical nuances of each individual application and require an exclusive approach from the user in resolving the issue of restoring their performance.

However, there are many common, quite often occurring reasons, by eliminating which, you can easily restore the work of most software. Such, really effective universal solutions, we want to offer our users in the instructions below.

So, if any program installed on your computer stops working or starts, you need to ...

Check the technical requirements (System Requirements)

Before downloading and using any program, always carefully check the technical requirements for each program on the official website of the software developer. At the same time, be sure to consider that such requirements are of two types: minimal (guarantee that the program will run exactly on your machine, but do not guarantee that it will function quickly and fully) and recommended.

Those who download software from our site mydiv.net should pay attention that information on technical requirements is located at home page each program in the tab "Requirements"(see screenshot).

Studying those. requirements of each application, pay attention to the following nuances, especially if you have problems not with "household" software, but with specialized utilities ( for example, a program for setting up, testing and overclocking any hardware or other professional applications does not start / does not work):

  • Processor power, its brand, model and others Extra options(for example: Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9650, 3GHz).
  • Volume random access memory , its brand, type, bus frequency, etc. (for example: Corsair DDR3 2048MB, 1333MHz).
  • Graphics card options: brand, model, integrated (built-in) or discrete (external), the amount and type of its video memory, etc. (for example: AMD Radeon HD 7770, 1GB GDDR5).
  • Hard drive: be sure to specify the volume free space, required to install the program + additional space for storing temporary and created files in this program, as well as: brand, model, type (external or internal), type (SSD, HDD or SSHD) and other tech. hard disk.
  • Sound card. Carefully check all the requirements for a sound device: make, model, type (internal or external), etc. Especially, this is necessary to launch and use specialized programs for setting up and testing sound cards, audio editors, converters, etc.
  • Operating system requirements: be sure to check the version of the OS, its build number, the requirements for the presence of installed service packs, the bit depth of the OS, etc. (for example: Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 x64 or Windows 10 Build 10547).
  • Additional software. In addition to the hardware requirements necessary for the launch and operation of programs, there are also "software requirements" for software. That is, for normal functioning any application, it may be necessary to install additional technical software. Here is a list of what you definitely need to install on your computer and periodically update, keeping the installed version up to date:
    • Microsoft DirectX. A set of libraries and tools necessary for the processing and reproduction of computer graphics.
    • K-Lite Codec Pack or Advaced Codecs. Multimedia codec sets required to play audio and video on a computer. Very often used by specialized programs for editing and converting audio and video.
    • Adobe Flash Player. A browser add-on that allows you to play videos on the Internet.
    • Microsoft Visual C++. A set of libraries and plugins required for the operation of many computer programs(including for video games) written in C++ or C#.
    • Microsoft .NET Framework. Required for the operation of programs and games written using .NET technology.
    • Java JRE. Required for the operation of programs created using the Java language.

For other software requirements, check the official websites of software developers! Having carefully studied all the hardware and software requirements, you will immediately understand whether your computer will "pull" desired program or not!

Update/reinstall drivers

The driver is the most important technical program on which the normal operation of all devices connected to the computer (processor, video card, sound card and other devices) depends 100%, as well as the operating system and all the software installed on it. Agree, if you have any problems with the webcam driver, then you are unlikely to be able to use the program to record from a webcam or make a video call on Skype. Another option... For example, if the driver is not installed on your computer (or started to conflict) sound card, then your media player will definitely show "silent movies", and you can also forget about working in audio editors / converters. Therefore, it is quite obvious that the drivers need to be closely monitored and updated in time!

Complete uninstallation and reinstallation of non-working programs

Indeed, this method can actually work. Failing or not running applications at all should be tried to be removed from the system and reinstalled. To correctly remove programs from the "OS", it is best to use specialized applications "uninstallers". For these purposes, we recommend using Revo Uninstaller. Detailed instructions About, how to reinstall programs on a computer and use Revo Uninstaller , can be read in .

However, the programs uninstallers many have been created to date. If the above program does not suit you with something, then you can choose any other application you like from this set of programs.

Complete cleaning of the system with cleaner programs

This method is also quite justified, especially as a prevention of program failures in the future. Remember! The less any "garbage" will accumulate in the operating system, the more stable it and all the software installed on it will work!

To perform tasks of a similar plan, it is also best to use special programs- "cleaners". The best of them is undoubtedly CCleaner. How to use CCleaner and completely clear the system , written in detail. For those who wish to continue using this program on an ongoing basis, we recommend another thematic guide "".

However, there are also quite a lot of cleaner programs on the modern computer market. If the need arises, you can easily choose any other program for cleaning the "OS" by looking at this set "Programs for cleaning the operating system".

Removing programs from startup (autorun)

Programs that are in autorun always automatically start along with the operating system and continue to hang in it in the background. Without a doubt, many of them may well conflict with other applications launched / running on a PC, as well as greatly slow down the system and even often lead to its failure! Try to remove all unnecessary applications from startup and, quite possibly, the programs you need will start up again and work normally.

You can clear autoload from unnecessary objects different ways, as manually (through the service msconfig), and with the help of specialized utilities, for example, the same CCleaner. You can read more about how to edit autorun in the "" manual.

Cleaning computers from viruses

Malicious software can also be a real reason why certain programs on the computer may not work or start, since viruses can easily damage, delete and block the working files of programs. Therefore, we recommend that all users get a serious antivirus and fully check the system!

Choose suitable antivirus programs you can here (these sets contain the best, including free anti-virus applications of various plans):

Additional antivirus software, you can search at mydiv.net in other sets of programs in the "Security" section.

To learn how to use antiviruses and efficiently clean your computer from various malware, carefully read these guides:

Add exclusions to antivirus

As is known, ideal antiviruses does not exist. Many of them often sin with false positives. At any time, the antivirus can easily remove files of a program that it "did not like" from the computer or block their execution. Accordingly, these programs will immediately stop working or even run.

To avoid such unpleasant situations, you need to use the function "Exceptions", which is available in almost every normal antivirus. Please note! You can add to exceptions only those files and folders that you consider 100% safe!

To learn how to correctly create exclusions in antiviruses, read these guides:

  • " ",

Run programs as administrator and disable UAC

UAC- account control system Windows users, created to control the differentiation of user access rights to the functions of the operating system and prevent unauthorized launch various applications in the background.

Only the administrator has elevated privileges in the system. And only he can run many system services and applications installed on the computer! Therefore, if any program does not start for you, try restarting it with administrative rights. At the same time, you can turn off the system UAC so as not to interfere in the future.

You can read more about how this is done in the manual "".

Various network issues...

Here you will find solutions for the most frequently encountered network problems due to which many programs installed on the computer stop working or start.

Prescribing Google's DNS

Many programs need a constant and stable Internet connection to run and work, with which most of our providers often have serious problems. One of the most common problems is DNS server failures. So, if your router detects a connection, but at the same time, the pages in the browser are not loaded for some reason, it is quite possible that the provider has some problems with the DNS servers. To fix the problem, you need to register in the settings network board alternative DNS servers from Google.

It is done like this. Click on the network icon (in the lower right corner of the screen) and open "Network and Sharing Center".

In the menu that opens, select the option "Change adapter settings" and you will be taken to the section "Network connections".

In this section select "Connection by local network" or "Wireless network connection" (if you get internet via Wi-Fi). Click on the selected object with the right mouse button and select item "Properties".

In the properties of the network card, select the item "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" by double clicking on it. In the opened properties of the network protocol, write down the following numbers: "Preferred DNS Server" - 8.8.8.8, "Alternate DNS Server"- 8.8.4.4. Then, to confirm the operation, press "OK".

As alternative, you can also do this. In the "preferred server" column, write ip address of your router(usually: 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 ), and in the "alternative" - already Google's DNS.

After that, if the problem was precisely with the DNS servers, the pages in the browser begin to open normally, and the work of many programs that require an Internet connection is normalized.

Adding programs to antivirus network exclusions

As mentioned earlier, in one of the above instructions, many modern antiviruses are far from ideal and often upset users with false positives. At their "purely personal" discretion, they can easily block all network activity any programs running / running on the computer. What this will lead to is not difficult to guess! There is only one way to deal with this, add programs and processes running in the system to exceptions

Turn off offline work in Internet Explorer

Many windows applications (for example, Windows Live Mail and Skype etc.) are directly "tied" with Internet browser explorer. That is, simply, use its engine. Because of this (in some situations) offline mode this browser may cause problems with network applications. If, for example, your mail is not being restored in Windows Live Mail, or you cannot sign in to Skype (white or blue screen without fields for entering a login / password) and other similar problems with previously working software, you may need to disable offline mode in Internet Explorer.

It is done like this. Run Internet Explorer. Press key "ALT" to display the browser control panel. Open a tab "File" and remove the checkbox from the item "Work autonomously"(also, this option can be in the tab "Service").

However, please note that in new versions of the IE browser, there is no such option in the control panel, and you can disable offline mode only through registry editing!

This is done in the following way. Open the menu "Start" and in the search bar type the command: regedit. Click lion. mouse button on the label that appears at the top regedit.exe to launch the Registry Editor.

Next, in the registry, find the branch: HKEY+CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings. After that, double-click on the parameter with the left mouse button "GlobalUserOffline" and in the window that opens, set the value - 0 .

If you find such a parameter in the registry, then it must be created! Right-click in the right window of the Registry Editor and select the option "Create", and then "DWORD Value".

After all operations are completed, IE offline mode will definitely be disabled and the programs you need should be restored.

On this, this manual ends. Where possible, we have presented you with all the fastest and most effective methods for solving common problems related to the launch and operation of the software. Try to use the most suitable ones and, most likely, your programs will work again!

And in this article we will talk about such a common problem as why programs are not installed. Installing a program in our time is so important that it makes no sense to use a computer without programs. The problem that the program does not install is faced mostly by a beginner in the computer field.

Even in this situation, there are those computer users who use a pirated windows operating system.

You can also get into such a misfortune when installing programs that you need to grunt to use for free.

Consider a number of reasons that programs are not installed:

  1. Missing Microsoft .NET Framework component
  2. Missing Microsoft Visual C++
  3. Due to antivirus
  4. Due to incompatibility
  5. Need to update drivers
  6. Missing DirectX component
  7. Program requirement
  8. Viral Installer
  9. Not right choice bitness of the operating system
  10. dll required
  11. Lack of system account
  1. Some programs require the NET Framework component to work correctly. Some programs work with certain versions of others with latest versions. So take a close look at what the installer requires. Could it be that programs are not installed because of this component. This component can be downloaded from the developer's website. Download and start installation. The installation process is normal. We agree with what the installer suggests. If after installation desired version NET Framework, the program is not installed and again requires the NET Framework. Then go to “start”, open “control panel”, go to the “programs” section and open “turn windows components on or off”

We look so that there is a checkmark in front of the NET Framework in the checkbox.

  1. Microsoft Visual C++ is also an essential component when installing programs and when using it later. Most programs may fail to install due to the absence of the Microsoft Visual C++ component. Visual C++ is a programming language package. If the program does not install on your computer, check for Visual C++. If not, download or install from the installation disk. I warn the installation process, it takes a long time.
  2. If your computer has active anti-virus protection, then those programs that need to be grunted will not start. If you don’t have programs like installed, then the antivirus is to blame. In order for the installation process to proceed normally, it is necessary to turn off the computer for a while and add the installation folder in the exception.
  3. When creating programs and applications, some developers forget about compatibility with different operating systems. And when you try to install such programs, it fails. Fortunately, you can get out of such situations. To do this, press the right mouse button on the shortcut of the non-starting program. AT context menu go to "properties"

Put a tick in the checkbox "Run this program in compatibility mode"

And choose the operating system you need.

  1. It happens that if you use one operating system for a long time, without updating drivers, crashes and glitches occur in the system. In this case, you need
  2. DirectX is a toolkit developed by micrasoft. It is mainly used when installing games, it is also used when installing programs. If this package is missing, then it must be downloaded and installed. Preferably the latest version.
  3. When installing software, be aware minimum requirement programs. These requirements include:
  • Processor power
  • RAM
  • Axis (working memory)
  • Miscellaneous Components

If the computer data is lower than the program requirement, you will wonder why programs are not installed. Therefore, we always read the help.

  1. In my practice, I observed that some installers downloaded from unknown sources are not installed. The reason for this is a broken or virus file. In such cases, you need to re-download the file or find another source.
  2. If your operating system is 32-bit, and you are trying to install 64-bit, then naturally you will not install programs. Therefore, when installing programs, we observe bit depth.
  3. There are also such cases that in the absence of a “system” account program does not start. To do this, you need to create account. Right-click on the shortcut of the non-starting program and go to "properties"

As you can see in the list of accounts there should be an entry "system"

We write the name of the system and click check. After we go below and set the attribute full access.

Here are all the reasons why programs are not installed. If the above methods did not help, then the problem lies with your operating system. If the operating system is licensed, then download and . If the system is pirated, then you need to reinstall the operating system -. This is where the article ends. I hope the information was useful to you. If you have any questions or something is not clear - write in the comments.

Sometimes PC users encounter such an unpleasant situation as the inability to run programs. Of course, this is a very significant problem that prevents most operations from being performed normally. Let's see how you can deal with it on computers running Windows 7.

When talking about inability to run programs on Windows 7, we are primarily referring to problems related to EXE files. The reasons for the failure can be different. According to this, there are various ways troubleshooting these types of problems. Specific mechanisms for solving the problem will be discussed below.

Method 1: Restoring the EXE file association through the "Registry Editor"

One of the most common reasons why applications with the EXE extension stop running is a violation of the file association due to some kind of failure or virus action. After that, the operating system simply ceases to understand what needs to be done with this object. In this case, it is necessary to restore the broken associations. This operation is performed through system registry, and therefore, before starting manipulations, it is recommended to create a restore point, so that if necessary, you can undo the changes made to "Registry Editor".

  1. To solve the problem, you need to activate "Registry Editor". This can be done using the utility "Run". Call it with a combination Win+R. In the field enter:

    Click OK.

  2. is running "Registry Editor". In the left part of the window that opens, registry keys are presented in the form of directories. Click on name "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT".
  3. A large list of folders opens, arranged in alphabetical order, whose names correspond to file extensions. Look for a directory that has the name ".exe". Having selected it, go to the right side of the window. There is a setting called "(Default)". Right click on it ( PKM) and select position "Change…".
  4. "Meaning" deposit "exefile" if it is empty or any other data is there. Now press OK.
  5. Then return to the left side of the window and look in the same registry key for a folder called "exefile". It is located below directories that have extension names. Having selected the specified directory, again move to the right side. Click PKM by parameter name "(Default)". Select from the list "Change…".
  6. The parameter editing window appears. In field "Meaning" write the following expression:

    Click OK.

  7. Now, moving to the left side of the window, return to the list of registry keys. Click on folder name "exefile", which had previously been selected. Subdirectories will open. choose shell. Then select the subdirectory that appears open. On the right side of the window, click PKM by element "(Default)". Select from the list of actions "Change…".
  8. In the parameter change window that opens, change the value to the following option:

    Click OK.

  9. close the window "Registry Editor", then restart your computer. After turning on the PC, applications with the EXE extension should open if the problem lay precisely in the violation of file associations.
  10. Method 2: "Command line"

The problem with file associations, due to which applications do not start, can also be solved by entering commands in « command line» running with administrative rights.

    1. But first we need to create a registry file in Notepad. Click for it "Start". Next choose "All programs".
    2. Go to catalog "Standard".
    3. Here you need to find the name "Notebook" and click on it PKM. Select from the menu . it important point, since otherwise it will not be possible to save the created object in the root directory of the disk C.
    4. Runs standard text editor Windows. Enter the following entry into it:

      Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
      [-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.exe]

      "exefile"=hex(0):

    5. Then navigate through the menu item "File" and choose "Save as…".
    6. The save object window appears. We pass in it to the root directory of the disk C. In field "File type" change option « Text Documents» per item "All files". In field "Encoding" choose from the drop down list "Unicode". In field "File name" write any name convenient for you. After it, you need to put a period and write the name of the extension "reg". That is, in the end, you should get an option according to the following template: "File_name.reg". After you have completed all the steps above, click "Save".
    7. Now it's time to run "Command line". Back through the menu "Start" and paragraph "All programs" move to directory "Standard". Looking for a name "Command line". When you find this name, click on it PKM. Select from the list "Run as administrator".
    8. Interface "Command line" will be opened with administrative privileges. Enter the command following the pattern:

      REG IMPORT C:\filename.reg

Instead of a part "file_name.reg" you need to enter the name of the object that we previously created in Notepad and saved to disk C. Then press Enter.

    9. An operation is being performed, the successful completion of which will be immediately reported in the current window. After that you can close "Command line" and restart PC. After restarting the computer, the normal opening of programs should resume.
    10. If, nevertheless, EXE files still do not open, then activate "Registry Editor". How to do this was described in the description of the previous method. In the left part of the window that opens, go sequentially through the sections "HKEY_Current_User" and Software.
    11. A rather large list of folders opens, which are placed in alphabetical order. Find a catalog among them Classes and go into it.
    12. Opens a long list of directories that have names various extensions. Find a folder among them ".exe". Click on it PKM and choose an option "Delete".
    13. A window opens in which you need to confirm your actions to delete the partition. Click "Yes".
    14. Further in the same registry key Classes look for the folder "sec file". If found, click on it in the same way PKM and choose an option "Delete" followed by confirmation of their actions in the dialog box.
    15. Then close "Registry Editor" and restart your computer. When you restart it, the opening of objects with the EXE extension should be restored.

    Method 3: Disable File Lock

Some programs may not run in Windows 7 simply because they are blocked. This applies only to the launch of individual objects, not all EXE files generally. To solve this problem, there is its own overcoming algorithm.

    Method 4: Eliminate viruses

One of the most common reasons for failure to open EXE files is viral infection computer. By disabling the ability to run programs, viruses thereby try to protect themselves from anti-virus utilities. But the question arises before the user, how to run an antivirus to scan and treat a PC if program activation is not possible?

In this case, you need to scan the computer with an antivirus utility using the LiveCD or by connecting to it from another PC. To eliminate action malware There are many types of specialized software, one of which is Dr.Web CureIt. During the scanning process, when a threat is detected by the utility, you need to follow the tips that are displayed in its window.

As you can see, there are several reasons why all programs with the EXE extension or only some of them do not run on a computer with Windows 7. The main ones are the following: operating system malfunctions, virus infection, blocking of individual files. For each reason, there is an algorithm for solving the problem under study.
