HP Overview Photosmart Premium Fax C410c - printing combine for consumer needs

Manufacturers of inkjet MFPs are mostly focused on those who do not need a huge functionality, but do not mind - just in case - to have it at hand. You can never use the built-in card reader or fax in your life, but the very realization that they are always ready is worth a lot: two thousand rubles - for sure. A clear confirmation of this is the hero of our next review- Printer with Internet connectivity HP Photosmart Premium Fax C410c .

History of creation. A Brief Overview of Internet Opportunities

central view

The HP Photosmart Premium Fax C410 (the MFP of the third revision fell into our hands - the HP Photosmart Premium Fax C410c) replaced the modest but functional hard worker Photosmart Premium C309. It happened last fall and became a kind of regression. Yes, the device was repainted from boring office light gray to fashionable black, added gloss, taught how to connect to the Internet and print all sorts of funny things from there, but part of the basic functionality was abolished: unlike its predecessor, the HP C410c cannot print on CDs.

From now on, HP marketers are focusing not so much on comprehensive functionality (but they have a home photographic MFP with full set office modules - fax, duplex and automatic document feeder ADF - just can boast), how much for revolutionary manufacturability. We are talking in particular about the wide Internet opportunities. Briefly about them.

ePrint technology allows you to print documents from any device connected to the Internet via Email(relevant for mobile phones, smartphones, PDAs, tablets, as well as PCs running operating systems that are not officially supported: for example, GNU/Linux). Each ePrint-enabled printer or MFP is assigned an individual email address to which emails with attachments should be sent (up to 10 attachments with a total size of up to 5 MB). Total spam protection, alas, led to the fact that the service works somehow: out of 10 letters sent by us for printing, the HP C410c received only 8. And we also used Gmail, which is officially supported. There is not a word about the support of Yandex.Mail and Mail.Ru, popular in Russia, on the official website. However, the service is slowly but surely becoming better and more reliable (judging by the fact that there are fewer complaints about its work on the support forum), and there is no reason to be afraid of spam (which, if it breaks through the defense barriers, will be immediately printed), there is no reason, because there is support " white and black lists of e-mail addresses.

Print Apps (print applications) are small widgets that need to be installed directly on the printing device itself. Most of them are designed for viewing and printing photos from social networks and media storage, automatic printing latest news and entries from popular blogs, maps of the area, children's coloring books and puzzles. At the time of publication of this review, AOL Kids, a program for printing children's coloring books, grabbed the palm in the ranking of the most popular printing applications. Printing apps are free (the official FAQ says they're only free on this moment so things may change in the future).

The HP C410c also supports Airprint technology, which is of interest primarily to owners mobile technology Apple and provides easy printing of documents and photos from Apple devices via Wi-Fi.

Price. Competition analysis.

card reader

According to Yandex.Market (region: St. Petersburg), the Russian price of HP Photosmart Premium Fax C410c was 7200 rubles at the time of this review publication. This is 2,000 rubles more expensive than the younger model HP Photosmart Premium C310, which is completely identical to the C410c in terms of printing, but loses great in the optical resolution of the scanner (1200 dpi versus 4800 dpi), and is also not equipped with fax and ADF. They ask for this, in general, rather big set of improvements and additional features a little, but whether a home user, and not an office user, really needs all this is another question.

The HP C410c has few direct competitors and they are all from the upper echelons model range Epson photo devices: Epson Stylus Photo TX800FW (13,300 rubles) and Epson Stylus Photo PX820FWD (12,700 rubles). Their main advantages are more colors (6 vs. 5) and support for printing on CDs, while their disadvantages are lower print resolution (5760x1440 dpi vs. this review is almost half the price).

Among competitors of a slightly different kind (not photographic, but similar in functionality), only the HP Officejet Pro 8500A (7200 rubles) and Epson Stylus Office BX625FWD (8800 rubles). But you can consider them as an alternative to the hero of this review only if you are not picky about the quality of photo printing: office devices, as a rule, produce pictures of acceptable quality at best, but in no way comparable to those printed in a photo studio (and photo centers this difficult matching task is usually handled).

Let's summarize. We have to admit that today there are simply no devices that could compete on equal terms with the HP Photosmart Premium Fax C410c. This is due not only to the merits of our hero (of which, I must say, there are many), but also to his strange positioning. The HP C410c is a photo center for the modern Plushkin: all the functions that can fit in an MFP are collected in one device. In such cases, they say: "He doesn't make coffee." Epson has similar models, but there is no competition: both of them are almost twice as expensive, despite the fact that they are practically no better.

Appearance

Control Panel

ADF Top Tray

The HP Photosmart Premium Fax C410c looks great right up until you start using it. And the abundance of gloss is to blame for everything: HP designers gave the massive cover of the scanner, the control panel and a good part of the front panel of the MFP with a easily soiled coating. Yes, the shine at first gives the device a special charm, but it loses its freshness catastrophically quickly. Well, the problem would lie only in fingerprints (although it is a dubious pleasure to be on duty at the device with a soft cloth), but the HP C410c is also very easily scratched, and, alas, scratches cannot be erased with a cloth.

Only the strength of the hull justifies this impracticality. HP C410c is assembled from thick plastic and to the conscience. The panels fit exactly, the gaps are minimal, the design does not creak or play anywhere. The design of the case is boring, and HP did not bother to visually smooth out the impressive dimensions of the device (for example, in the HP Officejet 7500A they succeeded brilliantly).

The ADF module is located on the scanner cover, which is why the cover itself is heavy. There are no intermediate fixation positions, but the connecting loops are quite tight, and therefore hold it in almost any position. The hinges cannot be raised, making it difficult to scan thick originals (magazines, books).

The control panel is push-button, intuitive, reminiscent of that of the Epson Stylus Office BX625FWD. Separately, we note that the device is Russified up to the signatures for the buttons. The angle of the panel is fixed, however, the LCD screen on the left side of the panel can be tilted to a user-friendly angle. The screen diagonal is 6.1 cm. This is quite enough to control the MFP, but for some printing applications (those associated with viewing photos) is not enough. Next to the control panel is a card reader. Photo enthusiasts will appreciate the support for CF memory cards.

Trays - a traditional design for HP Photosmart series devices. Both horizontal, occupy lower part MFPs protrude well beyond the case (which complicates the already difficult transportation: the HP C410c weighs almost 10 kg). The capacity of the feed tray is 125 sheets of plain office paper and 20 sheets of photo paper (separate compartment). The output tray can only hold 50 sheets.

On the back of the HP Photosmart Premium Fax C410c there was a place for duplex and connectors for connecting the MFP to the electrical, local and World Wide Web, as well as USB 2.0 for direct connection to a PC. In addition, the device is equipped with support for wireless Wi-Fi interface.

Let's summarize. The Photosmart Premium Fax C410c leaves a pleasant impression, although it does not shine with particular elegance. A heavy blow to its practicality was dealt by designers obsessed with gloss, but otherwise it is a fairly convenient (control panel) and strong (high-quality thick plastic) MFP.

Technical capabilities of the printer, scanner, fax

Control panel without overlay

The HP Photosmart Premium Fax C410c printing system completely and completely repeats that of the HP C310b: the same five cartridges (black, cyan, magenta, yellow, photo black), the same two types of HP Vivera inks (pigment - for the black cartridge, water-soluble - for all the rest), the same volume of an ink drop (up to 1.3 pl for cartridges with water-soluble inks, 14 pl for pigment inks). This printing system has already proven itself well.

The manufacturer promises not only high quality document and photo printing, but also impressive speed: 34 and 32 A4 pages per minute for monochrome and color prints, respectively, in draft quality mode, 10.5 and 7.5 pages per minute in laser quality mode. With a photo of 10x15 cm, the device supposedly copes no longer than in 17 seconds.

The contact CIS scanner has a huge optical resolution of 4800 dpi. This is enough not only for simple home user, but also a photographer or designer working from home. Scanning multiple-page documents greatly simplifies the ADF. The MFP can scan directly to a memory card without the need to connect it to a PC.

The fax module is no different from that in other MFPs of a similar class. He knows how to store internal memory up to 90 A4 pages and up to 90 numbers - in the address book. Contact management is easy thanks to the LCD display.

Let's summarize. With those presented in the HP C410c technical solutions we already met while testing the HP Photosmart Premium C310b Photo MFP. Then we were satisfied and convinced that high-quality photo printing is possible with 4 cartridges (the black pigment ink cartridge is not involved in photo printing). We hope that this photo center will not disappoint us.

ADF mechanism

To assess the quality and speed of document and photo printing, we used:

The HP Photosmart Premium Fax C410c proved to be a truly versatile device. It provides excellent quality not only photographic, but also document printing. You can only find fault with the draft mode: in text documents there are printing defects (a slight shift of characters), a slight graininess is noticeable in the photo. In standard and best quality The MFP is doing great. The level of color reproduction is in no way inferior to Epson's competitors, and the text is distinguishable up to 3 pt.

The print speed is acceptable, although in draft mode it doesn't match what was promised. For monochrome documents it is 17 and 10 pages per minute (respectively in draft and laser quality), for color - 15 and 7 pages per minute. It takes 30 seconds to print a 10x15 cm photo in draft mode and 73 seconds in best quality mode. In order for the MFP to produce an A4 image, it will take 88 and 182 seconds, respectively, in draft and best quality modes.

The quality of scanning raises no objections. The colors of the resulting images are as rich and vibrant as those of the originals. 4800 dpi resolution is enough for any needs of a simple user, a photographer (of course, in the context of CIS technology), a designer.

Let's summarize. As expected, testing confirmed that the HP Photosmart Premium Fax C410c is an excellent MFP that fully meets the needs of the modern user. High quality printing, scanning, high speed- everything is with him.

Conclusion

Manufacturers of inkjet MFPs appeal to vices. Such is the marketing ploy. I must admit, quite effective. Obsessed with acquisitiveness, they say, what if one or another function is suddenly needed (despite the fact that before that there was no need for it), a person buys more and more universal MFPs. The hero of today's review is one of them. But it's not just a device packed with features. This is a high class photography center. Functional, providing excellent print and scan quality, convenient, let's not be afraid of these words, technically and functionally well thought out. If you're looking for a print combine for all occasions, the HP Photosmart Premium Fax C410c is a great choice.

  • excellent quality document and photo printing, scanning;
  • an abundance of additional functions (two-sided printing, automatic document feeding for scanning, fax, card reader);
  • low price.
  • impracticality due to the glossy coating of many surfaces.

Instructions for refilling cartridges HP410A/X (CF413A/X, CF412A/X, CF411A/X, CF410A/X) for HP Color LaserJet M452, M477 printers

In 2015, Hewlett-Packard introduced a novelty of updated printers HP Color LaserJet M452, M477. These printers use new generation cartridges with multiple refill protection: HP No. 410A- standard capacity cartridges , ; and HP No. 410X- increased capacity CF410X, CF411X, CF412X, CF413X.

Cartridges developed on the basis of technology, using chemical, providing excellent print quality.

In this article, we'll take a look at the HP 410A Cartridge Protection Levels.

  1. The first thing that catches your eye when disassembling the cartridge is solid seams. On the side covers there are neither the usual screws, mounting pins, only whole plastic. Sonic soldering of seams is the first degree of protection. On one of the side covers (on the side opposite from the chip) there is a spring that holds the cartridge compartments. This spring must be carefully removed.
  2. After removing the spring, remove the side cover itself. Conventional cartridge designs use internal prongs, but you won't find any prongs here. The lid will have to be broken. But do not be afraid, break it in a strictly defined place with a flat screwdriver and carefully slide the cover, applying force, until the seam opens.
  3. When the cover is removed, you will be able to separate the cartridge into 2 parts.
  4. Remove the photo roller and primary charge roller in succession when disassembling the waste toner box.
  5. Remove the cleaning blade to expose the waste toner box.
  6. Remove the used toner. Please note that there is a thin line of silicone sealant inside, it is needed so that mining does not get out of the compartment. Something similar could be found in the design of the . And in cartridges, for example HP 125A, 126A, 128A and even in the HP Pro 200 series, foam rubber and felt seals were used instead of silicone. Silicone is more reliable in terms of protection. Initially, the silicone is blue, but upon contact with the toner, it will become the corresponding color. If you wash it with an alcohol-based liquid, it will turn blue again.
  7. Having finished all the manipulations with the mining compartment, assemble it and set it aside. It must be assembled in the reverse order, i.e. blade, charge shaft and photo shaft.
  8. We disassemble the toner compartment. Here again you will not see screws, the plastic is solid. In previous models, this place was a contact plate with copper conductive elements.
  9. On the opposite side there are a couple of screws, unscrew them and remove the black protective plate, on the side where there are gears.
  10. The plate protects several gears, one of them is a team (you can see its parts in the photo below). We remove the team gear, an intermediate white guide and two gears under it - a large one and a small one.

11. Remove the developer roller. Then remove the doctor blade. After that, you will see another layer of protection from manufacturers.

ATTENTION!

The screws that fix the blade are multi-threaded: one screw is right-handed, the other is left-handed. If you turn them with a screwdriver in one direction, you can strip the thread, be extremely careful and attentive!

Under the doctor blade, you will again see silicone sealant, it will be the same color as the toner it came into contact with. And if you wipe it, you will see that it is blue. Also under the blade you will see the foam toner supply roller located there, do not remove it. This roller is connected directly to the toner hopper, inside which you will see a transparent rigid film in the form of a shutter. This film is actually a check, in ordinary cartridges it is designed to separate the toner from the magnetic shaft, and it is torn off before using a new cartridge, but the case with the HP 410 cartridge is an exception, you don’t need to rip anything, you can’t just do it . It is designed in such a way that after the first start of a new cartridge, it turns into a tool for mixing the toner in the hopper before feeding it to the foam roller and the developing roller. This is an innovation and a way of protection in the HP 410 cartridge, the film is necessary to prevent toner from getting into the hopper, simply preventing toner from pouring into the compartment.

12.Pour the toner under the curtain, before that scrolling to a position convenient for you. There is no other way to get to the bunker. You will be convinced of this when you see that there are simply no plugs, wide openings for filling the toner. We fall asleep toner for a long time and patiently with the help of a watering can with a narrow spout. We use production toner for refilling Static Control Components Odyssey® Multi-Purpose Toner Color Series or Toner HP Color LJ CP 2025/CM 2320 (fl, 100 Chemical TMC027 IMEX) Silver ATM Series Toner HP Color LaserJet M452, M477 while in development.

13. We collect the compartment. We return the dosing blade and the developer shaft to their place, fix it with screws, not forgetting about the different threads. Install the hooked shaft sleeve (white) correctly. Alternately install the gears and the intermediate guide. Then, the assembly gear (do not disassemble it, on the contrary, make sure that it does not fall apart), we fix it with a black guide and two screws.

14. Next, we connect both compartments of the cartridge. To do this, you need to do a little trick, the slot (on the left) and the hook (on the right) should approach each other at the moment the two parts of the cartridge are connected. We close the halves of the cartridge with a side cover, the nominal one that you broke at the beginning. There are no screws. What to do you ask? Fix the fracture with a drop of adhesive plastic.

15. Return the spring to its place, it is convenient to do this with a knife or a flat screwdriver.

16. Now let's change the chip. Here, too, you will see a small protection against reloading. The chip is in its seat, which is blocked by a partition. You will need to cut this partition.

17. Install a new chip (some manufacturers have made an adhesive base so that the chip is fixed in its seat). Chip price very high significantly more than ALL previous HP printers.

The cartridge is refilled and ready to serve you again.

Let's take a look at the slightly replaceable parts in the HP 410A (410X) cartridges. They are not yet for sale, but they are in development. No routinely replaceable part - drum unit, primary charge roller, doctor blade, toner transfer roller - is similar to the parts from previous models. More or less, only the cleaning blade is visually similar to the blade from the HP Pro 200 M251/CP1415/CP1215 color cartridge series, although not identical.
