In the Windows operating system, it is very easy to implement automatic launch of programs, for example, so that immediately after turning on the computer, a virus scan occurs. At the same time, if something starts automatically in Windows, getting rid of it is not so easy.

Automatic launch of programs implies the presence of a special folder C:\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup. I have this folder empty, because there is no need for it today.

But, if you put a shortcut to some program (namely a shortcut!), It will start automatically along with Windows. If there are several program shortcuts in this folder, they will be launched in the order in which they were placed (we bet you did not know this fact :)).

To get rid of the automatic launch of the program, delete its shortcut from the \Startup folder. True, this does not always help. The fact is that Windows provides several ways to automatically start, and very often during experiments on installing various programs, we are faced with the fact that they reconfigure the operating system so that it becomes difficult to get rid of them.

I will not give the complete technology for getting rid of “obsessive programs”, since this requires editing the Windows Registry and, accordingly, special literature and professional skills (to be honest, I will add it in the next 24 hours). But one place where you can take some limited measures, I will now tell.

Run the program - System Configuration (System Information), for this: click Start > Run or click the button Windows keyboard+ R. The following window will open:

Then in this window we type the command - msconfig, which will launch the system configuration. In the window of this program, on the Startup tab, you will see a list of programs that start automatically. For me, at the time of writing, it looks like this:

You can often see well here. hidden programs, periodically reminding us that one or another program from among those installed on the computer would do well to register. Such reminders can also be turned off here;).

Important. After removing a few (or all, you never know) unnecessary checkboxes, especially pay attention to programs that do not specify a manufacturer, click Apply and OK. After that, restart the computer, paying attention to the speed of starting Windows and exiting the system to full working mode.

If the download speed has changed for the better, then most likely you have disabled "unnecessary" programs in Startup that interfered quick start systems. If there are no improvements, then again, as described above, start the system configuration and pay attention to whether there are any programs in Startup that you have unchecked. If the checkmark appears again, then this is exactly the case when you need to delete certain registry entries of these newly appeared programs.

That's just about it, I will write in the next article, do not miss it, subscribe to site updates.

If your computer is running slowly and space hard drive overloaded, clear it of extra programs and components, and disable unnecessary processes and services. This can be done using standard Windows tools or using third-party programs.

Where do extra programs come from?

What programs and processes in Windows 7 can be removed

Windows 7 has three categories of data that boots the system - programs, processes, and services. The program is installed on the computer to perform the function required by the user. The process can be systemic, necessary for the correct Windows work 7, and user, launched with the program. Services in the system are started by default and disabled through "Computer Management".

Processes can be disabled through the "Task Manager" (instructions are given below).

If you are unsure whether the process can be terminated, open the location of the executable file. If it is in the system Windows folder, don't stop him.

Windows 7 prevents the user from completing certain critical processes. When you reboot, the system starts them again.

In addition to processes, services run in the Windows system, some of which can be closed using the "Computer Management" menu without compromising the security of the PC. List of services that can be stopped:

  • Fax;
  • Windows remote control;
  • remote registry;
  • remote desktops;
  • Bluetooth support;
  • remote desktop server;
  • secondary login;
  • smart card;
  • remote access autoconnect manager;
  • distributed transaction coordinator (DTC);
  • ktmrm for KRT.

If you are not using local network, disable the NetBIOS Helper Service and change to manual mode Computer Browser service.

The image download service cannot be disabled when a scanner or webcam is connected.

How to Erase Programs and Stop Processes on Windows 7

You can remove utilities and stop processes in several ways: through the Start menu, using the Control Panel and Task Manager, as well as using specially designed programs.

How to uninstall programs and disable services from the start menu

By opening the "Start", you can view the list of programs and remove some:

The disadvantage of this method is that after deleting the program by means of Windows, its files and residual entries in the registry are saved.

You can also stop services from the Start menu. For this:

Do not disable all services in a row - some of them are responsible for the correct operation of Windows.

  5. Press "Y" to confirm the procedure and wait for the inscription Method Execution successful.

Third-party programs to remove unnecessary files

Using Windows tools, it is difficult to erase a program without tails. And developers come up with third party applications- uninstallers. Instructions for working with some of them are given below.

PC Decrapifier

  1. Click "Check for updates".
  2. In the window that opens, you will see the question "Are you using new computer"? Answer without embellishment.
  3. Create a label for Windows Recovery and click "Next".
  4. The program will execute automatic search unused applications and will present them as a list.
  5. Check the boxes for the programs to remove and click the Remove button.
  6. PC Decrapifier will prompt you to manually uninstall other programs. Execute as needed.
  7. In the last window, uncheck the Submit feedback box and click Finish.

PC Decrapifier copes well with third-party software, toolbars and applications imposed when loading other programs.

CCleaner - comprehensive cleaning

The program cleans up hard disk space and Windows registry. Functionality is provided to control startup and remove previously installed software. Additional functionality is located in the "Service" menu.

CCleaner finds more installed applications than the standard Windows 7 uninstaller. And after uninstallation, it “cleans up” residual files and registry entries. To uninstall a program:

  1. Launch CCleaner.
  2. Select "Service" on the left.
  3. Find the sub-item "Uninstall programs".
  4. Select the program to uninstall from the list and click Uninstall. The "Delete" button is required to remove the name of the utility only from the list - it will not be possible to uninstall the application from the PC using it.

To disable/enable startup programs:

  1. Information about programs that start automatically with Windows will open.
  2. Highlight the program for which you want to disable autoload, and click "Turn off".

CCleaner allows you to manage startup not only for Windows, but also for browser add-ons.

Uninstalling unused and pre-installed programs is necessary to stable operation PC. And disabling processes and services increases speed and performance Windows systems 7. Procedures are recommended to be carried out at least once every three months, and then the computer will retain its working qualities for several years.

I run my own business and I understand how difficult it is to decide to open a company. Therefore, I create informative articles about business that help to understand the essence of the organization of the process. And as a hobby, I write about the work of various gadgets and computer programs.

A number of other programs and services have this capability. This helps to optimize the work with important applications, which must be constantly active.

Sometimes an excessive number of self-starting programs becomes a consequence prolonged OS activation .

This happens because some applications add themselves to the startup list without the user's knowledge.

In this case, you should completely turn off the unnecessary function. Consider several ways to remove programs from autorun.

System autoload folder

You can add almost any executable file to autorun. The easiest way is to move it (or a shortcut) to the system startup folder.

AT Windows 7 it can be found in the Start menu, after clicking the All Programs button. Toward the end of the list will be the "Startup" folder. Removing from it means canceling autorun.

This is the easiest way to disable autorun, but not the most effective. Many applications duplicate this feature in other system partitions.

If there is a mark about autoload in another system partition simply removing the program from the autorun folder will not help.

In addition, removing applications from autorun through the Start menu is applicable only for a specific active user.

General editing for all users can be done in system folder Programm Data, which is on drive C.

Having opened it, you will need to follow this path: Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup.

Using "System Configuration"

More reliable way removing or adding programs to autorun is to configure the OS settings.

Its use is more likely to help disable the autorun of certain programs. Now more about how to call the system configuration window and change startup options:

Important! This section may contain important system programs, without which the functioning of the computer will be unstable. Therefore, you need to carefully watch which services are enabled and which are disabled. If there is no complete confidence in the functions of a particular service, it is better not to touch it.

In most cases, this is enough to eradicate an unwanted program from startup.

But the most cunning programs duplicate their location marks in system registry. Further, everything is a little more detailed.

Cleaning the system registry

The system registry is an important part of the OS. You need to be extremely careful when deleting files there, one deleted small file can lead to disastrous consequences.

Therefore, you need to try to follow the instructions below as accurately as possible:

One of the reasons for the slow operation of the OS are the programs that are present in autorun. As a rule, not all of them are needed for the correct operation of Windows, so some can be removed, which will increase the performance of the computer, it will boot faster and respond to your commands.

How to turn off autoload Windows programs 7, you will learn further. At the same time, remember that there are service applications, the deactivation of which can lead to malfunctions. operating system. By clearing the list of automatically included programs, you will notice that it will take significantly less time to boot the OS.

Why from autorun?

Many applications that are in the "Autostart" affect the speed of loading the operating system. You probably noticed that a computer that was purchased relatively recently, after a few months, starts not loading so quickly, and also “slows down” during operation.

After installation various applications they are added without your permission to the "Autorun". That is why it is necessary to disable the startup of programs in Windows 7 that you very rarely use, or you do not need them at all. In the process of work, all these applications use computer resources, such as RAM, which affects its performance.

Of course, not all programs in "Autorun" need to be deleted, since some of them are really needed, but there are those that must be loaded with the OS. So before you clean up your Startup list, make sure you don't disable anything important.

Why are applications added to "Startup"?

As mentioned above, many programs are added to the "Startup" on their own. For example, you download an application, and you are offered another one in the load, which, without your permission, is placed in the "Autorun". It's one thing when it's a really necessary program, for example, to control a video adapter. But if you do not need the application, then you need to know how to disable startup programs in Windows 7.

Often, users add programs that they most often need to Autorun. For example, if you constantly need to be on Skype, you can include it in the startup list. But there are also mandatory applications, such as antivirus or firewall (firewall).

If you are not satisfied with the launch speed of regular “brakes”, and you cannot find where to disable startup programs in Windows 7, then read about it further.

How programs

So, you have decided to get rid of some applications in the "Autostart", but do not know how to do it. In fact, everything is very simple. To see what programs you have there, go to the "Start" menu, open "All Programs" and find the corresponding section, which is called "Startup". By clicking on it, you will open a list of all applications that are in the "Autostart".

If you want to remove a program from Startup, you can do this using the command line. Call it by pressing the "WIN + R" buttons, and then enter the "msconfig" command there. Click "Enter", the "System Configuration" will open, where you need to go to the "Startup" section.

Now you can disable startup programs in Windows 7 yourself. Uncheck the boxes next to those applications that you do not use. By the way, if you do not need them, then remove them through "Programs and Features".

How to Disable Autorun Programs in Windows 7 Using Autoruns and CCleaner

You can't remember which keys to press for a call. Or perhaps you want to open a list of "AutoPlay" programs with just a few clicks. Then you can install one of the free apps allowing you to do this.

The first program is called Autoruns. It is recommended to download it from the official website. On the this moment there is only an English version, but you should not be afraid, because the interface is designed in such a way that even a novice user can figure it out.

Another popular app is CCleaner. You can also download it from the official website. In order to disable startup programs in Windows 7, you will need to run CCleaner and go to the "Tools" section. Now select "Startup" and once click on the application that you want to remove from "Startup". On the right there are corresponding buttons.

Before you delete something or, conversely, add it to Startup, you need to read a few tips from experienced users:

  • It is not recommended to remove from "Autorun" antivirus program, since after loading the OS, you can forget to turn it on, which means that there will be a threat of virus penetration.
  • If you don’t know whether it is possible to disable some program, then look for information about it on the Internet, and then make a decision, because some applications are service ones.
  • In addition to cleaning "Startup" from unnecessary programs, it is recommended to disable some services that can be found on the tab of the same name in the "System Configuration" window.
  • When you learn how to disable startup programs in Windows 7, do this operation with all unnecessary applications to keep the load on the system as low as possible during startup.

Conclusion

As you can see, it's not difficult to open "Startup" and remove all the "garbage" from there. You only need to remember one thing and the "msconfig" command. After doing these steps, you will notice that the next time your computer will boot much faster, especially if there were a large number of applications in the "Autostart".

Often, users, having downloaded a movie from a torrent, forget to close the client itself and remain on the distribution. As a result, web pages open much more slowly. However, if you remove this application from "Autostart", then the problem will be solved. That is, when you need to download something, you manually start the client, and close it in the same way.

So, now you know how to disable startup programs in Windows 7. It is recommended that you regularly check what you have there. By the way, some applications themselves ask whether to add them to "Startup" or not.

Experienced users are familiar with the situation when, after a new Windows installation the computer just flies, but over time its performance decreases and oddities appear in its behavior. Automatically launched programs play an important role in this. Clean System has practically no utilities and other software that starts at startup, but it accumulates. And as a result, the computer slows down, and the user spends his nerves. Proper setting of automatic start solves this situation.

How to disable autoloading of the program and reduce the number of icons near the clock

Why you need to remove programs from autorun

When installing new software, the user, without hesitation, clicks on the "Next" button, without even reading what will happen to his computer. But software developers embed various “chips” into it that start at system startup.

Let's consider in what situations it is necessary to clean autoload:

  1. The computer started to boot slowly.
  2. Decreased performance.
  3. The appearance of unnecessary reminders and pop-ups when turned on.
  4. Work failures.

Important! Setting up autorun is the first step on the list of those that help solve performance problems.

Removing unnecessary programs from startup does not positively affect other applications, as they are provided with more PC resources. The automatic launch setting is especially relevant for owners of low-power laptops, netbooks and outdated PCs, where there is no surplus random access memory or processor power.

Important! Even software invisible to the user running on a PC consumes resources.

Why are programs automatically launched?

  • the need to inform the user;
  • setting up automatic updates;
  • accelerated start of software at startup;
  • quick access to program functions;
  • brand promotion and advertising.

There are a number useful programs, which automatic download needed:

  • firewall;
  • antivirus;
  • device emulation software;
  • drivers.

There is no need to remove useful software from autorun. This will lead to loss of stability or performance problems.

Removing programs from startup

There are two ways to configure autorun: OS tools and third-party utilities. The use of utilities is rarely required, and they themselves also load the system. By programs when you turn on the computer, it is better to use the built-in tools in Windows.

Windows offers several ways to set programs to start automatically:

  • msconfig utility;
  • registry editor;
  • Task Manager (Windows 8 and above only).

Important! You can disable programs at computer startup using the registry editor, but this should only be done by experienced professionals. Intervention in its work can lead to loss of OS performance.

Disabling Autoload with Msconfig in Windows 7

One way to view startup and disable unnecessary stuff in Windows 7 is the MSConfig utility. It allows you to manage OS startup options.

Important! Be careful when using the utility and remember the last steps so as not to disrupt the computer.

Let's consider how autorun programs are configured when the computer is turned on:

  • Launch the Run command by pressing Win+R on your keyboard.
  • Enter msconfig in the only field of the opened window and confirm the action by pressing Enter.
msconfig is a Windows operating system configuration utility
  • Go to startup by selecting the appropriate tab
Autoload data

Advice. It is worth disabling the torrent when you turn on the computer, being in the MSConfig autorun control tab. When you click on the link, it will start on its own, and the speed of starting the OS will increase.

One more tab of this utility deserves attention - "Services". It allows you to turn off unnecessary services. You should not disable Microsoft services or antivirus software, but you should disable third-party update services. You can completely remove Skype from autorun only if you disable it on both tabs. The situation with other programs is similar.

Advice. Be careful when editing the list of services launched automatically. Disabling the necessary ones will affect the operation of the OS.

Services that start automatically

After confirming the changes with the Ok button, the utility will ask you to restart the computer. If accidentally disabled desired applications, then they return to autoload by performing the actions in reverse order.

Changing AutoPlay with Windows 8 Task Manager

In Windows 8, Microsoft has changed the layout of many items. It became possible to enter autoload through the "Task Manager".

Consider how to find downloads on a computer with Windows 8:

  • We enter the "Task Manager".
  • Click on the desired program and click "Disable".

    Programs that are included in startup

Viewing downloads on a computer through the "Task Manager" is more convenient and accessible to inexperienced users.

Enabling automatic start back occurs here. For inactive applications, the "Disable" button will change to "Enable".

What programs can be removed

Software developers include in the download modules that are not needed by most users, you do not need to run all update check services, and you need to turn off all unused applications.

Worth knowing. Programs will continue to be updated even if the corresponding modules are disabled, only the check will occur when the application is launched.

Consider what can be safely turned off:

  • Unused modules to installed programs.
  • Skype and other messengers. They should be launched as needed.
  • Update tools.
