The term " secret codes for Android" refers to such combinations of characters that were originally intended for testing devices on which this operating system is installed.

With their help, developers check phones and tablets before they are sent for sale. And their total number reaches several tens.

The introduction of a certain sequence allows you to get data or perform actions that are not available ordinary users. For example, find out the IMEI ID, reset the system to factory settings, or check the operation individual modules.

Features of "secret" ciphers

Many users who are faced with the need to use such commands may wonder why they are secret.

First of all, combinations of symbols and numbers received such a name due to the fact that most owners of gadgets on this OS do not need them. And there is no mention of these commands in the instructions.

To use any of them, you need to enter the "Phone" application in the dialer (green or blue handset on the main screen).

Tablets without a 3G module do not have this feature by default. And in order to run the codes, the user must download special application, finding it in PlayMarket for the query "Dialer".

Dangerous Combinations

There are several options, by entering which, you can make serious changes to the system without the ability to return to the initial state. These include, for example, *#*#7780#*#* and *2767*3855#.

The first one provides a reset of all settings and removal of applications installed by the user, the second command leads to a complete reinstallation of the system.

The combination *#*#7594#*#* allows you to get rid of the shutdown menu - when you press the corresponding button, the tablet or smartphone will automatically turn off without asking the user anything.

Selecting the code *#*#8351#*#* is needed to enable voice dialing registration, and *#*#8350#*#* to disable this mode. The sequence #*5376# is used to delete messages, and several combinations for Android like #*3876#, #*3851# and #*2562# restart the gadget.

Special codes for products of individual manufacturers

There are several combinations that are only suitable for certain models or brands of gadgets. They can be summarized in a small table.

In addition to these, there are other commands. A special Secret Codes application from PlayMarket will help you find them. With it, you can even find those that are not on the list.

You should know: Not all of the sequences, even universal ones, will work on every smartphone. The use of a secret combination can be limited by root rights or a self-reinstalled operating system, taken not from the official site, but from third-party sources.

Results

Most of them should be used very carefully. Especially, those of them that not only give out some information, but also make changes to the operating system or firmware. When used correctly, engineering combinations can be quite useful.

many owners mobile phones heard the abbreviation IMEI, but not everyone understands what exactly it means given code and for what purposes it can be used. IMEI is the standard serial number of a mobile device, its international identifier, which is affixed by the manufacturer for each individual device. This code is unique and transmitted to the network mobile operator when connecting the device. The most common reason for checking the IMEI is the theft of the gadget. Those. if in stolen cellular telephone a new SIM card will be supplied, law enforcement will be able to trace the owner of this card and seize the gadget. About all features and applications serial number and IMEI will be described in the article.

What is the IMEI of the phone for?

The standard IMEI contains a 15-digit code. Manufacturers mobile devices never release two gadgets with the same IMEI serial numbers. This character combination was originally programmed in software mobile device, the so-called "firmware", regardless of what model and brand of phone you have (Samsung, Nokia, HTC, Acer, etc.).

This code is for unique identification cellular device in GSM networks. In other words, if the user turns on the device without a SIM card, it will appear in the operator's network. IMEI code decoding

The IMEI combination is decrypted as follows:

  • the first 6 characters indicate in the international classifier Type Approval Code (TAC) - an approved type encoding that is assigned to a specific phone model. In this case, the first 2 characters are the code of the country where the gadget was released;
  • the next 2 characters are the identifier of the country code that made the final assembly of the device. It is called the Final Assembly Code (FAC);
  • the next 6 characters are directly the unique serial number of the phone, which is denoted by the abbreviation SNR (Serial Number);
  • the final 1 digit is a reserve number called SP (Spare) and is almost always 0.

Scope of IMEI

  1. Checking the IMEI code is the most efficient and easy way obtaining information about a mobile gadget before you pay for its purchase at a point of sale. Just one simple combination will allow you to instantly check the compliance of the “wired” IMEI with the number that is printed on the device case.
  2. Also, checking the code allows you to protect yourself from the risk of buying a stolen phone. Each user who has become a victim of theft or loss of his gadget can leave the serial number of the lost device in the IMEI database.
  3. This serial number will also allow you to find a lost or stolen phone. To do this, you need to add a combination of the missing gadget to the IMEI database in order to increase the chances of finding the lost device.
  4. By blocking access to the device, which can be carried out by the operator mobile network after confirming the ownership of the phone, the user will be able to restrict intruders' access to the network in different coverage regions.
  5. Finally, the presence of an IMEI code indicates the integrity of the manufacturer, the build quality and the security guarantee for each client.

How to find out your IMEI

It's not hard to check the code. The vast majority of mobile gadgets, regardless of model and type operating system, respond to a simple combination. Usually it is enough to identify the serial number, which works on both old and new gadgets.

So, to check your IMEI code, you need to do the following manipulations:

Other methods can also be used.

We provide several IMEI verification methods for various manufacturers:

  • for old Sony mobile phones or Sony Ericsson you need to press the combination “* Right * Left Left * Left *” on the keyboard;
  • for gadgets on the Android platform, just go to the phone's "Settings" menu and go to the "About phone" category;
  • for Blackberry mobile devices or latest models Sony Ericsson should go to the "Options" menu and open the "Status" section;
  • for gadgets based on iOS just go to the "Settings" menu, then click on "General" and select the "About phone" category.

Thus, we examined the basic provisions about the concept of the IMEI code, gave the most common causes its use and how to verify this serial number.

Service (they are engineering, they are also secret) codes are used to quick access to various functions, often even hidden ones. There are universal codes for Android, and there are those that are available only for certain device models.

Not so long ago, I published an article in which I said,. To do this, you could use special software or use one of the secret codes. Now I will talk about the most popular of them, thanks to which you can carry out many system settings.

Popular secret codes for Android smartphones

Why are these codes called "secret"? It's just that most ordinary users do not need them, they are not published in the instructions for smartphones. First of all, "secret codes" are intended for engineers and developers to conduct various tests.

To use any of the service codes, you need to enter it in the dialer. On tablets you will have to download third party application to make calls - enter in Google search Play the request "Dialer" and download your favorite "dialer".

In principle, these are the most basic and universal service (secret) codes for Android tablets and smartphones, but all manufacturers add support for their own, so if you are interested in codes for a particular device, download the application. It will be discussed below.

Android service codes in the Secret Codes app

The Secret Codes app will scan the system for engineering codes and list the result. You just need to click on the code of interest and you will go to the desired option.

Unfortunately, this method has a disadvantage: on some devices, the application does not find a single service code, and on some it does not find everything. But on the devices I tested, everything was fine, and the reviews in Google Play almost all are positive.
