A power supply for the LEDs is needed to maintain direct current, otherwise they are also called current sources or driver. The service life of both individual LEDs and the LED lamp as a whole depends on the quality of this device. Fighting for low cost LED lamps low-quality power supplies are often used, the service life of which is much less than the life of the LEDs.
The dimmable power supply for LEDs has a high quality of protection during device operation. The power supply can be installed even in the smallest spaces, thanks to its compactness and small size, which allows you to implement any task in the production of luminaires.
The power supply for high-power LEDs has different cases: open, sealed, ultra-thin, network adapters - all of them are protected from various adverse effects.

We live in the age of digital technologies, development does not stand still, new, more convenient technologies in science and technology appear every day. It is not surprising that LED lamps, which seemed to us something completely new and incomprehensible 10 years ago, are replacing obsolete incandescent lamps and, moreover, mercury-based light sources. If earlier LED lightening could only be seen in large supermarkets and shopping centers, now it is widely used in transport, and even at home.
You may have noticed a new generation of lamps from your friends or acquaintances. And this is not surprising - their advantages over alternative light sources are obvious, because such lamps have a much higher luminous flux and luminous efficiency. Reliability is also important. LED lamps they really last much longer than their competitors. Subject to right approach and working conditions, they can serve you for more than one year.
In order for the new light source to work stably, a special power supply for high-power LEDs is needed. Such power supplies provide a constant stable current, which is a condition for stable continuous operation of the light source. It is possible to connect both a separate LED and a whole chain to only one block (current source).
Thanks to the latest developments in power supplies, powerful LEDs can work for a really long time, because the power supply used to fail initially, which interrupted the life of the LEDs. Now, just like LEDs, power supplies have a long service life. At the time of buying LED sources Be sure to specify the service life of power supplies (current sources)

A 12V, 24V power supply is required to power the LED strips and their correct operation. Exist different kinds power supplies with different protection and control properties.
Power supply 24 and 12 can be either hermetic or non-hermetic. Before purchasing a power supply, you need to determine the total number of all LED connections. The voltage of the power supplies must match the voltage of the LED products. If the number of connected LED products exceeds the limit, then there may be fluctuations in the operation of the power supply. The device may not work properly or become completely faulty. You should purchase power supplies with a power reserve of 15-20%

If the battery on the phone or tablet under the system android controls began to discharge too quickly, then most likely you will need to replace the batteries for your Samsung phone.

However, sometimes it can help. correct setting gadget. Downloaded and installed applications can take on too much percent of the charge. The device can be configured so that the battery lasts as long as possible. But not always such a setting can save the situation. About this and not only - further.

So what are the main indicators for replacing the battery (battery) for mobile phones?

  • The battery loses 20% of its capacity every 500 charge-discharge cycles, that is, in 2 years of use, it can lose 20-40% with daily charging. Frequent overheating, cold, excessive humidity accelerate the process of battery loss, its capacity and it can lose 20-30% capacity in the first year of use. In this case, it is better to buy a more expensive battery, and not choose a cheap analogue.
  • The battery has changed its shape - swollen, rounded, spinning on a flat surface. If you have an iPhone or other phone with a built-in battery, the shape of the case may change, the display or back cover may bulge
  • Phone discharges from 100% to 0% in a few hours with inactive use
  • The phone turns off during a call in Ukraine, even if the battery level shows 20-30%
  • A battery test from an online store shows wear and needs to be replaced. On the Android smartphones this can be done with the combinations *#*#4636#*#* or *#0228#* and also with third party programs Battery Info and MacroPinch Battery. On iPhone, battery health can be checked using the Battery Life app.

How to extend the life of the battery (battery) for mobile phones?

  • First of all, you should charge your gadget regularly.

Do not allow full discharge battery. Despite the fact that modern lithium-ion batteries do not have the so-called memory effect, and have a pleasant cost, charging should be periodic. Of course, you can and even need to put the device on charge even before it is discharged before turning it off.

Most manufacturers in Kyiv calculate the life of a lithium-ion battery in full discharge cycles. To check this indicator yourself, you can order battery diagnostics. For the best quality batteries, this period is on average five hundred cycles. In order to prolong its life, it is worth charging the gadget more often. It is best to put the phone on charge when the charge rate drops below 20-10 percent. This action can extend the life of up to 1100 cycles.

  • Put the device on charge in time.

The device will last longer with a constant charge of 50-80 percent. If the battery is charged to 100 percent, then it should be disconnected from the power supply in time, since this factor will also affect the life of the battery. Recharging is also not a good factor for a long service life. The price of such a charge is a longer period of use.

  • Charge your phone only with the original power supply.

It is allowed to take a charging cord that is not original, but it is best to use a native power supply. Few people know that the power supply of the charger has built-in network adapters that "align" electricity from the household network and make it optimal for charging your phone. However, some devices do not have built-in charging.

  • Charge and discharge your phone to 0 and 100 percent several times a year.

Full charge for a long time is harmful for a lithium-ion battery, the same situation is with a full discharge to 0 percent. Experts always give recommendations at least once every three months to bring the phone to full discharge, and then keep it on charge for 8 to 12 hours.

Charger(ZU) - transfers energy from external sources to gadget batteries and thereby ensures long-term and uninterrupted operation of phones, tablets, laptops, e-books, mp3 players and other equipment.

All gadgets are usually equipped with "native" memory. However, during operation there is a need for additional memory. Another factor in favor of such devices is the fact that most modern devices do not require the replacement of one battery with another (with the exception of cameras).

Purpose

Devices for charging only a phone or tablet have one USB output for connecting the corresponding equipment. The main difference between these memory devices is the output current, which is measured in amperes (A).

For phone chargers, this parameter does not exceed 1 A, which is enough to charge most small gadgets. The charger for tablets has an output current of 2.1 A. A more expensive universal charger usually has two USB outputs for different devices.

Important: the maximum current of 2.1 A is allocated only if one device is connected. If two devices are charging at the same time, then the charger will “give” a current of 1 A each. If you charge equipment designed for 2.1 A using a 1 A charger, then it will take longer to charge.

According to the type of memory, they are divided into stationary, universal, wireless, automotive, power bank(battery), Power Bank (solar battery), manual and battery (conventional battery).

Stationary (network; SZU)

SZU charges the gadget from the mains (220 V). It can be "native" for certain models or just an adapter for connecting a USB connector to the mains. SZU is relatively inexpensive and has no restrictions on the energy resource, but depends on the availability of the network.

Automotive (AZU)

AZU charges the gadget from the car's on-board network and connects to the cigarette lighter. It is carried out in the form of a cable or adapter, often cylindrical in shape with USB connectors for devices. This charger can only be used in a car. AZU is perfect for people who are constantly driving.

Universal

This charger is a USB cable that connects at one end (via USB port) to a computer, laptop, car charger, and at the other (via connectors) connects to a tablet / phone. Such a device is inexpensive, but its functionality is limited by the presence or absence of these devices at hand.

When using a universal charger, it is necessary to take into account the input current parameter - the current in the devices from which the device is charged. This setting affects the battery charging speed of the connected device. But not all power supplies provide a lot of current. For example, a PC USB port has an input current of 500 mA.

Wireless

Such a charger works on the basis of the principle of magnetic induction and transfers energy directly to the phone / tablet without connecting a cable. It is performed in the form of a platform on which the gadget is placed. The wireless charging pad itself is connected to the network or another device (computer, laptop) via a USB port using a cable.

The wireless charger is easy to use, safe (no contact with electricity) and can be used in difficult conditions. However, long-term charging, in which the phone / tablet cannot be fully used, and a very high price, cast doubt on these advantages. In addition, such devices are not suitable for every phone.

Most wireless chargers are universal, that is, they fit models different brands. There are also wireless car chargers.

Power bank (battery)

This type of memory is the most common. The battery is independent of external conditions and has a larger capacity than a conventional battery, which means it provides longer operation electronic device. The price of this memory is more than the battery. Like batteries, these devices contain an electrolyte that is hazardous to human health.

The two most common types of batteries are:

  • lithium-ion (Li-Ion) - the most common batteries that have an affordable cost and acceptable quality;
  • lithium-polymer (Li-Pol) - they heat up and self-discharge much less, have less weight and are more durable. Instead of an electrolyte in such batteries, a polymer metal is used. However, Li-Pol tolerate sub-zero temperatures worse (capacity is reduced), and their price is higher.

Power Banks come with both built-in and replaceable batteries.

Capacity

This parameter indicates the amount of energy that the Power Bank gives to the connected device until it is completely discharged.

Capacity external battery measured in milliamp-hours (mAh) and ranges from 2000-50000 mAh. The capacity of a lithium-ion battery depends on the number of batteries it consists of: 1 cell - 1200-2400 mAh, 2 cells - 2500-4400 mAh, 3 cells - 3750-6600 mAh, 8 cells - 10400-14400 mAh.

To choose the right battery capacity for your charger, you need to know the battery capacity of the device you are charging. In this case, the capacity of the memory should be higher by 20-30% , since for a number of reasons no battery provides a full return of energy, and over time its capacity decreases by 15-20%.

For example, if the phone has a 2000 mAh battery, then a suitable memory must have a capacity of at least 2500 mAh. If there are several such devices, then the correct indicator will be the sum of their capacities plus the same 20-30% margin.

Important: some manufacturers even indicate two parameters: the declared and the actual capacity, helping to navigate the choice of the desired capacity.

It is necessary to take into account the circumstances of the use of memory. For a long stay out of access to the mains, you should purchase a charger with the maximum possible capacity, despite its high price and weight (dimensions).

If the task of the memory is to maintain the battery charge of the phone / tablet before coming home, then in this case less capacious, but more affordable and compact devices will be the best solution. Interesting options - memory in the form of a keychain or a phone case.

One of the varieties of rechargeable Power Bank is power P e n, made in the form of a pen. This is a compact charger with a capacity of 700 mAh. Such a device is useful in emergency situations. The Power Pen also doubles as a stylus.

Important: power price Bank directly depends on the capacity of its battery: the larger the capacity, the higher the cost of the device. Therefore, a cheap and at the same time sufficiently capacious memory is unlikely to be of high quality and most likely will not last long. Rechargeable chargers can store energy for 6-12 months.

Other parameters of Power Bank

Output current is the current flowing from the charger to the connected device. It is measured in amperes (A). This parameter affects the battery charging speed: the higher this parameter, the faster the charger will charge the battery of the device connected to it. It is worth remembering that too high a setting can lead to overheating of the phone and its breakdown.

output power battery chargers are measured in watts (W). This indicator must equal or exceed the power of the rechargeable battery of the gadget, otherwise the charger will discharge it.

Important: Divide the output power of the charger by the capacity of the battery to determine the charging time for the battery of the device being charged.

Output voltage battery charger is measured in volts (V). This indicator must match the input voltage of the gadget being charged. For phones and tablets, this value is most often 5 V, for camcorders - 9 V, for laptops - 16/19 V. If the output voltage of the charger is higher than the input voltage of the receiver, this will lead to damage to the battery of the device being charged and even to its explosion.

  • for phones, smartphones, PDAs, GPS navigators, you should choose a memory with a capacity of 2000-5000 mAh, a power of 0.5 W;
  • for cameras, camcorders and tablets, a memory with a capacity of 4000 mAh and a power of 0.8 W is required;
  • for laptops, netbooks and other powerful devices, it is better to purchase a memory with a capacity of 10,000 mAh or more, with a power of 1.5 W or more.

On hiking trips, it is better to take a memory with a capacity of 8000-20000 mAh and above.

Power bank (solar battery)

This Power Bank resembles the previous device, but is "powered" not from the network, but from the sun. The received energy is converted into electricity. Power bank on solar battery environmental friendliness, long service life, reliability.

The solar battery can be recharged both from the sun and from the network or laptop. The charger is sensitive to weather conditions: in cloudy weather it charges equipment and charges itself much more slowly. The price of such a memory is the highest among portable devices.

Solar-powered devices are the best choice for long trips, as the traveler will almost always be able to recharge his charger. In the field, a dynamo is also useful, but its efficiency is much lower.

Solar chargers are of two types.

  • With battery(capacity within 4000-25000 mAh) - consists of solar panel, battery, converter and charge/charge controller. The body of the device is made of rubber or metal. This charger is charged from the mains, and then in the process it is recharged from the sun.
  • Without battery(power is 3-300 W) - consists of the same elements, except for the battery. The shell of the device is made of waterproof fabric. Such a memory, like a network one, directly transfers energy from the power source (the sun) to the connected gadget. Chargers without batteries are cheaper.

Budget models have a 0.2-0.4 W battery and charge in 10-15 hours. More expensive chargers are equipped with a 1-3.5 W battery, due to which charging is faster - 4-5 hours. Solar chargers with panels up to 3 W are good for recharging the gadget's battery, devices with a power of over 3 W can efficiently charge directly from the sun.

Solar panels can be made from monocrystalline or polycrystalline silicon. A single-crystal panel has an efficiency of 18-20%, a polycrystalline panel has an efficiency of 15-17%. In appearance, the monocrystalline panel is black, while the polycrystalline panel is blue.

Important: Efficiency refers to the efficiency of absorbing and converting sunlight into electrical energy.

The Solar Power Bank is preferably used during the spring/summer season, when strong enough sunlight provides it. fast charging. Solar chargers can withstand temperatures from -20 to +45 °C.

Other memory

In addition to the listed memory devices, there are mechanical and battery memory devices. These devices, like the Power Bank, allow you to charge the gadget in the absence of the mains.

mechanical(manual, dynamo) - the simplest memory that runs on human muscle power - torsion of the rotation handle generates current. Such a charger is not very suitable for fully charging equipment, but it is useful for recharging it a little when the battery or accumulator has stopped working. Manual memory is cheap.

Battery- cheap and compact, but not very effective, because the battery has a small capacity and requires periodic replacement or recharging (for rechargeable batteries). Therefore, you should always have a spare battery. Due to the presence of electrolyte in the battery, such a charger can hardly be called environmentally friendly.

output connection

This parameter ensures the compatibility of the memory with various gadgets. When choosing a memory, you should make sure that there is a micro-USB, mini-USB, connector for the iPhone. The number of USB outputs can vary from 1 to 4. The best choice would be two USB ports

It is worth paying attention to the proprietary connector - developed by a specific manufacturer exclusively for their products ( Sony Ericsson, Apple, Samsung, Nokia). You cannot connect a gadget from another manufacturer to this connector.

Adapter

In the delivery set you can find a car (for the cigarette lighter) and network adapter(for 220 V network). Using the adapter, the user actually changes the type of memory. This device can be useful for recharging the charger if it is discharged or in the absence of the sun (for solar chargers).

Dynamo - plays the same role as adapters, with the only difference being that in this case the current is generated manually.

Cable

The cable is found in several types:

  • straight- cheap and easy option, but not very convenient;
  • twisted- rolled into a spring, such a cable is more compact in the absence of its tension;
  • in the form of a roulette- takes up a minimum of space;
  • built-in- is attached to the body of the memory and is located in a special niche. Although this cable is relatively small, it is more convenient than other analogues because it will not get lost.

The cable length varies: less than 50 cm, 50-100 cm, 100-200 cm. It is determined by the distance from the power source to the charger. A cable that is too short or too long will create inconvenience when using the charger. In most cases, a length of 50-100 cm will suffice. A length of less than 50 cm is suitable for AZU.

Important: pay attention to the quality of the cable, as it affects the charging speed of the gadget. good cable should not allow a drop in output current and voltage. Also low speed charging may be due to the long length or small cross section of the cable.

Equipment and functions

Case- used for transportation and storage of chargers and adapters.

Repeller mosquitoes- scares mosquitoes, usually by means of ultrasound.

Flashlight- plug-in or built-in memory, powered by a battery. Useful accessory in the dark.

Charge indication- displays the charge level of the memory through the LCD screen or by means of LEDs.

Waterproof housing- protects the memory battery from moisture.

card reader to read SD and microSD cards memory - allows you to transfer information from the phone's memory card to a computer or laptop. Practice shows that this function is rarely used.

In addition, the chargers have protection against overheating, overcurrent, overcharging, overdischarging, voltage surges, short circuits, reverse polarity.

  • The price of the memory depends not only on the material, capacity, build quality, but also on the manufacturer. You should not buy cheap memory devices of unknown brands, as they can not only quickly fail, but also damage the battery of the device being charged.
  • In cheap memory devices, the body material is made of lightweight plastic, while more expensive devices have a durable metal case (most often aluminum).
  • The memory must be intact and free of defects. Otherwise, it will simply be useless.
  • After fully charging the phone / tablet or other equipment, it is recommended to disconnect the charger from the power supply. This will save electricity and not harm the battery of the gadget (overcharging reduces its service life).
  • Rechargeable chargers lose their charge over time. That is why the charger should be charged the day before its intended use, for example, just before a trip.
  • Don't let complete discharge electronic device before charging it with a battery charger. Best result is achieved when the electronic device is not charged "from scratch", but recharged.
  • Each battery charger has its own service life, which is measured in charge-discharge cycles. It is recommended to choose devices designed for 500-1000 such cycles.

The laptop power supply (laptop adapter) converts the mains AC voltage 220 Volt 50 Hertz in constant stabilized. It is designed to feed electronic appliances and various devices from a stationary electrical network, as well as to recharge their batteries.

All modern power supplies for laptops are made according to the scheme without a mains transformer using the principle of pulsed voltage conversion.

It has the following positive qualities:

1. Smaller sizes and the weight of the adapter compared to the classic power supply, made according to the scheme with a network transformer.

2. Wider input voltage range. Impulse blocks power supplies allow changing the input voltage in the range of 100-240 volts without changing the output parameters. In this case, the output voltage of the power supply unit remains unchanged regardless of the input voltage.

3. Sufficiently high efficiency. Energy losses during conversion are not significant.

Attention! When using laptop power supplies, do not:

1. Connect the power supply to an electrical network with a voltage or frequency outside the allowable range. The allowable input voltage range is indicated on the adapter label. Otherwise, the power supply may burn out.

2. Connect the power supply to a consumer device whose input voltage is different from the output voltage of the power supply. This can lead to failure of both the power supply and the consumer device. The output voltage of the power supply is indicated on its label. The input supply voltage of the consumer device can be found in the instructions for this device or also on one of the labels on its case.

3. Connect the power supply to a consumer device whose maximum current consumption exceeds the allowable output current of the power supply. In that case, the power supply may fail.

4. Connect the power supply to the consumer device, the polarity of the voltage on the input power connector of which does not match the polarity of the output connector of the power supply. Applying reverse voltage will damage the consumer device as well as the power adapter. Refer to the label on the power supply connector for polarity information. You can find information about the polarity of the consumer device connector in the instructions for this device or also on one of the labels on its case.

5. Cover a working power supply with something, place it in a limited space without ventilation. All power supplies get hot during operation. The operating temperature of the power supply can exceed 50 degrees Celsius.

6. Short-circuit the output contacts of the power supply. Most power supplies are equipped with short circuit protection, but still, in order to avoid damage, this should not be done.

7. Disassemble the power supply or make independent repairs. There may be high voltage components inside the case.

The power supply is a universal device. It can be used to power any equipment to which it is suitable in terms of electrical characteristics and output connector. The main electrical characteristics are the output voltage and output current (or the power of the power supply, which is equal to the product of the output voltage and output current).

1. The output voltage of the power supply must match the required input voltage of the consumer device. The spread of this parameter is not more than 1.5 Volts.

2. The output current of the power supply must not be less than the input current required to power the consumer device.

3. The polarity of the output connector of the power supply and the input connector of the consumer device must match. The vast majority of laptops have a “+” on the inner pin and a “-” on the outer pin.

4. The connector of the power supply and the socket of the consumer device must be of the same type. The output connectors of some power supplies, while not identical, are similar in appearance and can be connected to a consumer device, but they do not provide good contact. In this case, frequent interruption of the voltage supply to the powered device is possible, which can lead to the failure of the latter.

Basic rules to be aware of when using power supplies:

1. Power supplies may only be used with compatible consumer devices.

2. Use only with mains supply, electrical parameters which correspond to those indicated on the power supply case.

3. The output contacts of the power supplies must be kept clean.

4. Do not allow various liquids to enter the case and contacts of the power supplies.

5. During operation, the power supplies heat up. This is a common occurrence. Therefore, power supplies must have access to air intake.

6. When not using the equipment, you need to turn off the power supply from the power outlet.

7. During a thunderstorm, it is necessary to disconnect power supplies and other devices from the mains.

Hello friends! When choosing components for building a PC, it is important how long they will last. Many people are especially interested in the service life of the computer's power supply: if some components change during the upgrade, then on a sufficiently powerful PSU, the computer can work for a long time. That is what we will talk about today.

Factors affecting the service life

Various conditions in one way or another affect the shelf life of PC components. Consider what should be considered when operating a desktop computer PSU.

Device operation mode

Contrary to popular belief, modern electronics do not need to "rest", and you can operate it at least around the clock. This myth has been around since the days of tube technology: diodes and triodes really needed periodic shutdowns in order to cool down.

Modern transistors are designed for a certain number of hours of operation. However, this does not mean that after the resource is exhausted, all components will fail together: the service life can significantly exceed the expected one.

The service life of the unit is primarily affected by which consumers of energy are powered through it. The maximum efficiency is achieved at 50% load (you can read more about this in the article about power supply certificates that you).

A power supply unit for computers that works "for wear and tear", giving consumers the maximum possible power, is more likely to fail faster.

Component quality

Practice shows that capacitors most often fail in this device. However, other failures also occur.

It is logical that high-quality components will work longer, and even longer than the due date, while outright counterfeit products may not work until the end of warranty service (if the warranty covers such components at all).

Other nuances

The power supply, like the rest of the inside of the computer, should be periodically cleaned of dust, which can cause a short circuit, and is also the reason for the deterioration of heat exchange with external environment. You can blow out the PSU with a fairly powerful vacuum cleaner without even disassembling it.

Overheating - common cause electronics breakdowns. Most power supplies are equipped with fans. This component can fail much earlier than other parts - simply due to the physical wear of the axle, due to friction. Even in this case, the PSU remains operational - just replace the cooler.

Regular power surges in the network or power outages negatively affect the operation of the power supply. If your electrical network is prone to such problems, it is recommended to use a UPS or a stabilizer, and sometimes both devices at once.

Warranty service

A good indicator is the warranty period that the manufacturer provides for their devices. It is logical to assume that a PSU that is serviced under a guarantee of no longer than six months is better not to buy - in the event of a failure, it will have to be repaired for its hard-earned money.

However, keep in mind that this is not an indicator, and in the end it all depends on specific device: one power supply from a trusted brand will last only six months, and the second from the same batch will last fifteen years with almost no loss of performance. But this indicator at least gives hope for its life, and I think that it is worth paying attention to.

What the service life will eventually turn out to be, no one will tell you for sure in advance. Stick to the recommendations above and it might increase.

I also advise you to familiarize yourself with and.
