Highscreen is a well-known Russian brand, and the novelty of last summer, the Pure Power smartphone, fell into my hands. He attracted attention with his impressive battery (and it is as much as 8000 mAh) and an attractive price.

The review got a model with a bright orange lid, which will be to the taste of creative individuals and those who do not like banal colors such as black.

Package

The model comes in a medium size white cardboard box. Having removed the cover, we immediately see the smartphone itself with a display sticker that lists the advantages of the model (why do this in 2016?), instructions and a warranty card. Under the smartphone are headphones, a micro USB cable, Charger 2A and an OTG cable (for charging other devices from a smartphone).

Appearance: brutal and weighty

Outwardly, Pure Power looks impressive and resembles smartphones from the Zer line. Taking it in your hand, you immediately feel its weight (239 grams), which is very logical with an 8000 mAh battery with a 15.5 mm case and unusual at the same time. Speaking of dimensions, I got used to its weight for about three hours. The device is made of high-quality matte-colored plastic, which is not very easily soiled, so there will be no problems with cleaning fingerprints. On the right side face are the volume rockers and the power button of the smartphone. On the back is a camera with LED flash and a speaker. Well, on top is a micro USB port and a standard 3.5 mm jack.
The side edges protrude slightly at half the length, which is a controversial decision in terms of ergonomics and convenience. The speaker of the device for high-quality listening to music will not work in any way, but will be great for calls and notifications.
Having activated the smartphone, at first I went into a stupor, because I could not find the control buttons on the panel. As it turned out, you can forget about the touch buttons. They are made virtual, which in my opinion is inconvenient, given the hefty bottom panel, which would be ideal for their functions.
The device has a slot for two SIM-cards and MicroSD. So the question of choosing between operators or increased memory disappears, which is already good. Despite the fact that the device has a removable back cover, it fits snugly against the body without gaps and protrusions. It is also worth noting that no creaking or play of parts was found.

Display and sun

Highscreen Pure Power has a 5-inch S-IPS display with HD resolution, which will be quite comfortable for reading, working, playing games and watching videos. By setting the backlight to maximum, as it turned out in the sun, the display fades when exposed to direct sunlight. It is also worth noting the display support for up to 5 touches.

Characteristics

Now about the processor and the operation of the model. The smartphone is equipped with a MediaTek MT6580 quad-core processor with Cortex A7 and Mali-400MP2 graphics. 1 GB random access memory and 8 GB of flash memory, enough for use. Of course, applications take longer to launch compared to top models, but no glitches or lags were noticed in the work.

Supports Pure Power work only in 3G networks. Receives the signal perfectly without gaps. On board Bluetooth 4.0, GPS module and single-band Wi-Fi.

8000 mAh is no joke

The smartphone was used in full for two weeks: games, calls, SMS, instant messengers, surfing the Internet, etc. In general, the standard performance of tasks. On the fourth day, Pure Power could not withstand the load and was completely discharged, which is quite good result. After full charge, the screen brightness has been set to maximum. And what do you think? It took about 9 hours of active work on the smartphone to completely discharge it. Such a long-term result is achieved thanks to a capacitive battery (thanks cap), as well as low power consumption of the processor and display.
Another notable feature is charging other devices via an OTG cable. I will make a reservation that you can forget about charging Apple technology. For strange reasons, the "apple" technique begins to behave inappropriately and refuse this type of charge.

Hi all! How long does your smartphone last? Surely almost everyone will answer that it is 1 or 2, maximum 3 days. Many generally charge their smartphone every day or several times a day. And if I say that there is a smartphone that you can not charge for a week and at the same time practically do not limit yourself in using it. Under certain circumstances, such a smartphone can last even 2 weeks of use. This review will focus on a new product from Highscreen, called the EASY POWER model.

ABOUT THE HIGHSCREEN BRAND

The Highscreen brand was originally owned by the German company Vobis (subdivisions of the METRO Cash & Carry Group) and was widely known in Europe - many Europeans had computers with the Highscreen logo in the late 80s and early 90s. In Russia, TabletPC class devices, laptops and computer peripherals were once presented under the Highscreen trademark.

Since 2009, Vobis Computer has been actively developing the Highscreen brand on Russian market, starting with the supply of smartphones under the specified brand. Initially, the company sold gadgets under its own brand, which it purchased from manufacturers in China, doing only minor external refinement and software localization of devices. This is the so-called OEM supply scheme, it is used by almost all umbrella brands in the Russian mobile electronics market.

Despite the classic model of OEM-branding of devices from Asian manufacturers, the Highscreen brand was initially positioned as a “brand of unusual gadgets”. Most of the devices that came out under it were distinguished by functional “chips” unique for the CIS market or a very attractive (and often unique compared to competitors) price / quality / functionality ratio.

PACKAGE

The smartphone comes in a rectangular white box. On the front side is a schematic image of a smartphone, made in blue. Also on the front side are short specifications smartphone.

On the back of the package, information about the available memory in the smartphone. The packaging is provided with protective seals.

On the ends of the box is the name of the smartphone.

At the bottom end there are detailed information about the manufacturer.

Inside the box, the smartphone is packed in a shipping bag, there is a temporary film on the screen indicating the main advantages of the smartphone.

EQUIPMENT

The package looks like this:

1. The smartphone itself.

2. Rechargeable battery.

3.Headphones.

4.Network storage.

5.Micro USB to USB cable.

6. Warranty card.

7.User guide.

8.Product quality coupon.

The package includes a headset (Thanks to Highscreen!). It is clear that this headset is the simplest, but for the first time it will do.

But what is missing in the package is a protective film on the screen. It seems like a trifle, but finding a suitable film will be problematic. By the way, they promise to release the protective glass for sale at the end of the month, at the same time a protective case will do.

APPEARANCE

When you unpack the box, at the first sight of a smartphone you experience a little culture shock! To be honest, this thickness of the smartphone itself is a little discouraging. It takes some time to get used to the size.

Before buying, I still advise you to go to the store and feel the gadget live. Weight with battery is over 240 grams.

It should be understood that it is simply impossible to create a perfect smartphone, and you always have to sacrifice something. Also in our case. The smartphone uses an 8000 mAh battery - this is no joke! This is exactly what makes up such a thickness of the case.

By the way, the Highscreen brand is the only one in our country that can provide an official smartphone with such a capacity. battery. As a rule, all other competitors stop at around 5000 mAh.

But this is not the only brand smartphone with a large battery capacity. The following models are also available: Highscreen Power Five Max - 5000 mAh, Highscreen Boost 3 SE - 6900 mAh. There are plenty to choose from.

First of all, I would like to say that Highscreen Easy Power is not an OEM analogue from a Chinese manufacturer. The smartphone is completely designed in our country, Chinese partners only provide services for the manufacture of the case and the final assembly of the product.

If you are looking for some design solutions in this smartphone, then I hasten to disappoint you, they are not particularly here. The smartphone is not designed for beautiful show-offs, but for real work. The work is in the maximum time battery life, (sorry for the tautology) and this is the main feature of this smartphone.

I had a smartphone in black on the review, but you can also choose in red. Case material - plastic.

The back of the smartphone has a coating that resembles sandpaper zero. Small inclusions of gold color are applied to the plastic, it looks very impressive in the sun.

The smartphone is perfectly held in the hand and does not slip at all. And on any other surface, it also does not slip.

At the bottom there is a Micro-USB connector, a single microphone hole and a small notch for removing the back cover.

On the top end there is only a 3.5 mm jack (mini jack) for connecting a headset.

On the right side is a paired volume button and a power button. The layout of the buttons is convenient, the thumb of the right hand immediately instinctively falls into Right place. If you are left-handed, then the index finger immediately takes the right place.

There are no controls on the left side.

The main camera in the smartphone has a characteristic protrusion at the top.

Also on the back is a flash, the manufacturer's logo.

The call speaker is located at the bottom and is covered with a horizontal grid.

Touch control buttons are located under the screen, there is no button illumination.

At the top speaker, front-camera, proximity sensor and sensor automatic adjustment brightness.

And this is how the smartphone looks in a woman's hand.

The frame on the front side of the smartphone is black. The thickness of the frames on the sides is small, but at the top and bottom the thickness is already significant, however, this factor does not catch the eye.

The screen does not have fashionable 2.5D glass, the edges of the screen will be tactilely felt. A small edging made of glossy plastic runs along the perimeter of the screen.

The case of the smartphone is collapsible. The cover is tightly fixed on the latches around the perimeter of the case.

Everything is free inner space occupies the battery compartment. In the upper part, you can find two slots for SIM-cards of the “micro” format, a little to the right is a slot for installing a memory card.

The speaker for calling is small and located on the lower right side.

The assembly of the smartphone is excellent, no negative points have been identified. Mechanical control buttons do not play, the back cover is not pressed through. For twisting and breaking extraneous sounds are absent in the body.

The lack of a status indicator makes it a little more difficult to control the smartphone.

SCREEN

The screen size in our smartphone is 5 inches with a resolution of 1280x720 (HD) pixels, which is standard for budget smartphones.

Multi-touch for 5 touches - enough for any task. The responsiveness of the touch layer is excellent, instant response to any touch.

The pixel density is 294 dpi. The human eye can no longer physically see more than 300 dpi. We can say that individual pixels, in principle, are no longer noticeable.

The screen manufacturer is LG. The IPS screen is made using ONCELL technology. This technology allows you to abandon the air gap between the glass and the touch layer. The image on the screen without an air gap is more contrasting and saturated.

There is a function of automatic brightness adjustment, it works quite correctly.

But the viewing angles are not the maximum possible. At a certain tilt, the image on the screen is still slightly inverted.

Of the significant screen settings, MiraVision technology can be distinguished.

MediaTek Mira Vision– technology for optimizing the image on the screen depending on different operating conditions. What is this technology? This is a set of solutions and algorithms with which the image on the smartphone screen can be changed in real time, optimizing for external conditions. Depending on different conditions, the image on the screen can be made more saturated or bright, contrast, etc.

The screen has a protective glass in the face of the Asahi Dragontrail. Asahi Glass is a subdivision of Mitsubishi and perhaps the largest glass manufacturer in the world. The material released by the concern appeared on the market later than its competitor in the face of Gorilla Glass and, nevertheless, has already managed to enter the arsenal of almost 40 well-known brands. Due to its low price, Dragontrail is often used in inexpensive smartphones.

The screen has an oleophobic coating, which turned out to be a pleasant surprise for me.

We will analyze the screen settings in more detail using the ColorMunki Display calibrator from X-Rite.

The gamma curves show a pretty good result, deviations from the reference curve are minimal.

But the color channels already have a significant spread.

The color temperature is too high, the colors on the screen will have a cold tint.

For the sRGB standard, we also see slight deviations.

But since we have advanced color settings, the screen characteristics can be tweaked for the better, and this is a definite plus.

CAMERA

The main camera in the smartphone is represented by an 8MP matrix. There is autofocus, the speed of the camera is low. The settings are standard for most cameras on the MTK chip.

Macro shots are good.

Also, even small text can be captured without problems.

In general, in sunny weather, pretty good pictures are obtained with good detail and correct color reproduction.

HDR mode works correctly.

Indoors, the white balance is a little lame, the pictures are a little dark.

The built-in flash is not very effective, but it works quite well as a flashlight.

The maximum quality of shooting from the main camera is 1280x720 pixels at 30 frames per second. The file extension is 3GP. The main disadvantage is a very grainy picture.

The front camera is already much more modest - 2MP. Autofocus is missing. The resulting images lack sharpness.

Video recording takes place at a resolution of 640x480 pixels at 20 frames per second. The front camera in this smartphone is purely for video calling, making a good selfie will be quite problematic.

SOFT

Smartphone works on android versions 7.0. The Highscreen brand does not use third-party or proprietary shells in its smartphones, nor does it install any applications, for which another huge THANKS to them! As a result, we get stock firmware from Google.

It is possible to update the firmware over the air. At the time of writing the review, no updates have been received on the smartphone.

When you first turn on the smartphone meets us with one desktop.

Main menu only stock apps from Google.

It is possible to turn on / off the smartphone according to the schedule.

Top status bar with shortcuts.

The smartphone has several beautiful wallpapers of different themes for every taste.

There are 28 widgets to choose from in total.

This is all that can be said about the software and firmware in this smartphone. There are no interesting items in the settings such as gesture control, unlocking or launching applications using gestures, etc.

Since the firmware is not overloaded with anything superfluous, the interface works quite smoothly (despite 1 GB of RAM). Of course, if you install resource-intensive applications in large numbers, then the smartphone may not work quite smoothly.

IN WORK

The CPU in Easy Power is an SoC based on MTK6737.

MediaTek MT6737 is a 64-bit quad-core processor based on the ARM Cortex-A53 platform. Has an integrated LTE support 4G WorldMode and CDMA2000 3G for mobile network. Dual-band 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 with wireless networking.

The Mali-T720 MP2 chip (two cores) is responsible for the graphics. Works at max. frequency 650MHz. The power of the video chip is enough for most games, except for demanding ones with a high level of graphics. This SoC also boasts very low power consumption.

In synthetic tests, the results are low.

But what about the games? The games we tested run well on default graphics settings. Increasing the quality of graphics leads to a decrease in performance, but one way or another, even heavy 3D games can be successfully played on this smartphone. With a serious load, the smartphone case practically does not heat up, only in the upper part of the screen it becomes a little warm.

This screenshot shows which sensors are installed in the smartphone.

RAM 1 GB (available 300 MB). Permanent built-in memory 16 GB (available 10.88 GB). Also, the PRO version of this smartphone will be available for sale, there will be 2 GB of RAM.

You can install a Micro SD memory card in your smartphone. I tested the 128 GB card and it worked without problems in this smartphone. The memory card can be selected as the main memory of the smartphone and installed on it various applications and games, so there will definitely be no problems with memory in this smartphone.

Speed indicators of memory.

The volume of the main speaker is not very high, however, it is quite enough not to miss a call, the sound is in mono format and does not represent anything outstanding. The complete headset is also simple. There is a built-in microphone and a call answer button, but you cannot adjust the volume of music and flip through music tracks using this headset.

The smartphone has GPS support. The GLONASS module is available only in the PRO version. But even without the support of the Russian standard, the smartphone has no problems with navigation. Fast "cold" start and up to 9 satellites, which for GPS systems is an excellent indicator.

Implemented support for two SIM-cards. micro format. There is only one radio module, the settings are standard. For each of the SIM-cards, you can set your ringtone. Voice transmission is good, despite one active microphone.

The built-in radio only works when a headset is connected, at home we managed to tune 13 radio stations and this is a good result.

Another smartphone pleased with a strong level of vibration.

The ability to connect external devices using a USB-OTG cable (not included in the package) is fully realized

AUTONOMOUS WORK

I must say right away that the main task of this smartphone is to work VERY, VERY long! Everything else doesn't matter!

As I said above - the battery in the smartphone is monstrous 8000 mAh! Even the spirit captures from such values!

Pay attention to how thick the battery is.

The sizes are also appropriate.

The weight is 135 grams. Many smartphones already weigh so much with the battery.

The package comes with a fairly compact network charger.

Output charge current 5V=2A. There is no point in using a less powerful charger (you will charge your smartphone for a “long time”).

Even from a complete charger, the smartphone was charged for 6 hours.

In the settings there is an item responsible for saving energy. We have an 8000 mAh battery!!! Why save anything at all?

The battery was 70% charged out of the box. To start testing for power consumption, I had to use a load tester, since just taking and discharging such a smartphone is quite problematic.

It was not possible to completely discharge the smartphone to zero. The device turned off at 6% charge. When charging a smartphone, the first 3000 mAh filled up in 1 hour 30 minutes at a current of 2A. After 7000 mAh, the charge current dropped to 1A.

So how long does it "live" this smartphone on one full charge?

I must say right away that I call a little, social. I do not use networks, and I rarely use instant messengers. In this mode, the smartphone lived with me for 9 days! Carl, 9 DAYS!!!

Then I gave the smartphone to my wife for the test, well, you understand that here the battery life was already less. On one charge with frequent calls, data transfer, Wi-Fi, social services are always on. networks, etc. smartphone lasted 3 days. Not a bad result, considering that she charges her Honor 6X with a 3340 mAh battery every day.

In standby mode, the smartphone will most likely easily withstand 3-4 weeks or more. But as you know, spending so much time on the test is inappropriate.

I also ran a standard battery discharge test with the PC Mark test suite for Android OS. After 21 hours, the test stopped spontaneously, but there was still 24% charge left. In this mode, the smartphone could work another 7 hours. As a result, it can be argued that the discharge from 100% to 1% will take about 28 hours - this is just a fantastic result!

If you want to watch movies on this smartphone, then full charge Enough for 17 hours.

Game lovers will also be satisfied, how do you like 12 hours of continuous play?

Another smartphone can work as a PowerBank. With USB-OTG cable, you can charge various mobile equipment. So smart phone 6X with a 3340 mAh battery managed to fully charge 2 times.

CONCLUSION

Highscreen Easy Power is the only smartphone with an 8000 mAh battery on the Russian market and there is no point in comparing it with competitors, they simply do not have such a gadget. The maximum Dexp can offer is a smartphone with a 5200 mAh battery, but the difference in battery capacity is still significant.

Not everyone needs smartphones with powerful processors and cool cameras. For many, battery life is very important, and this is where Easy Power becomes easy. ideal solution, I safely recommend this smartphone for purchase if the battery life is not in last place for you.

In retail, the smartphone is offered at a price of 7490 rubles, a quite adequate price tag, but there is a small incident ... Soon the Highscreen Easy Power Pro model will be on sale, which has a slightly overclocked processor + 2GB of RAM, a 5MP front camera and will support GLONASS. The difference in price will be only 1 thousand rubles, and you know, this is a completely insignificant amount to abandon the PRO version.

Pocket battery for emergency recharging mobile devices- a thing useful and relatively inexpensive, but still not free. At 8000 mAh, if you are not lucky with some kind of sale, it will cost two thousand.

So from the price of a new one, which received a price tag of 7,500 rubles at the start of sales, you can safely take a couple of thousand away. 3G-smartphone with a normal 5-inch screen and autofocus (albeit five-megapixel) main camera for the top five with a tail - is it normal? Seems to be OK. So we write the device into interesting ones.

This is not to say that there are no smartphones with batteries whose capacity exceeds the 5000 mAh that are found on the market from time to time. They are, but usually it's some kind of curious non-name with a random set of characteristics - on the site of a distant Chinese store one thing, another can easily be inside. in this respect will be somewhat more reliable. And on the Russian market it is definitely the only one on this moment officially sold smartphone with a battery capacity of 8000 mAh. The weight, of course, corresponds to the content - 239 grams, and the thickness is also rather big - 15.5 mm. But in color versions - with an orange and mint back, it does not look so scary. Black, of course, a hefty brick.

Well, the fact that the processor is modest and there is little memory - you didn’t expect a miracle, right?

Main characteristics:

The Russian brand Highscreen has proven itself well with its smartphones with increased battery capacity. I will not be mistaken if I say that they were the first to place a bet on battery life in our market. The Boost, Zera, Power lines - all of them were examined in detail by us earlier, and are probably known to those reading this review. At the end of August, my attention was attracted by the release of a novelty Highscreen Pure Power, which received an 8000 mAh battery and a very tasty price tag. With such a battery, this is the only such offer available with warranty service, only OUKITEL has more.

You can buy a smartphone in the official Highscreen store with free shipping in Russia, promotions with discounts often appear. Below is a summary table of available offers, compiled on the basis of data from the Yandex.Market service.

Highscreen Pure Power review

Equipment

The Highscreen Pure Power is delivered in a white box made of light cardboard with a schematic representation of the characteristics.

The package includes a micro USB cable, a 2A charger, an OTG adapter, headphones, instructions, a warranty card. The included OTG cable is useful for charging another smartphone, wireless headphones or hours.

Appearance

Highscreen Pure Power is very similar in spirit to the Zera line, which, in turn, is externally close to Lumia. Borrowing, if it was, was carried out successfully, it has its own original features. I myself for a long time Went with a senior and was quite pleased.

Despite the initial positioning as a "men's smartphone", its colors also include orange and blue. I have the classic black version.

You can safely take it. Stylish and unmarked. External surfaces with a light matte finish. Fingerprints accumulated over time are easily erased.

You need to understand that a capacious battery always affects the final dimensions. Capacity 8000 mAh fit in a case with a thickness of 15.5 mm.

At first glance, a lot, when compared with modern flagships, but if we take into account solutions that are close in capacity, everything is very good.

This was achieved by installing a non-removable battery, which occupies almost the entire area under the removable cover.

The slot for a pair of SIM and memory card is shifted to the top. There is no need for Highscreen Pure Power owners to choose between a second SIM or additional memory, you can and should charge your smartphone to the fullest.

The lid fits snugly to the body, without gaps and protrusions. It is not pressed through under the pressure of the fingers, no creaking or play of parts is observed.

The lens of the main camera with LED flash is shifted to the center and does not protrude above the body surface. Pleased complete absence chrome plastic. With time appearance will remain unchanged. The speaker is located to the right of the camera. The location is good, the speaker does not overlap with any placement in the palm of your hand. The volume is at an average level, the call is audible, but for comfortable listening to music is no longer enough. Lateral face with a small rounded protrusion, about half the length. With in terms of convenience and ergonomics. It would be more interesting to look just a smooth rounding to the lid. Structurally, this protrusion is not critically required, judging by the inspection of the case under the cover.

The volume rocker and the power button on the Highscreen Pure Power are on the right side. The buttons are tightly fixed in the body, do not rattle, the move is clear. Audio jack and microUSB with OTG support on the top. On the bottom there is only a hole for the main microphone. The front side is covered with protective glass, its marking is not reported. touch buttons No, they have been moved to the interface. The same approach was also in the Zera series. On the top frame there is a speaker grille and a front camera. In general, Highscreen Pure Power makes a good impression, does not look like a budget. Dimensions are, of course, larger than simple smartphones, according to the experience of weekly use, they are quite comfortable.
