We master the computer

Mastering the Internet

Hello dear visitors of Teryra.com! I am glad that you decided to take the initial video course - Computer Basics. This course is a textbook that many who have completed it already call - The Computer for Dummies.

If you immediately want to start learning it, then first watch the video lesson about how to pass this tutorial, you can watch the video lesson here (click on the word "here" once with the left mouse button), and then return here (it will tell you how), rewind down to the content of the video course, and start studying. Well, those who want to read the preface to the textbook - you are welcome.

A computer for dummies, or what is a computer and what is it eaten with?

For many people who are just starting to use a computer, this "use" is a real problem. After all, this ill-fated PC (personal computer, means the same as just the word "computer", so do not be alarmed), has great amount functions, and as I wrote on home page site, after a person finds the answer to one question, fifteen more immediately appear in its place.

Once, while teaching my mother and aunt, I realized that if a person is taught certain, basic, computer knowledge, then after such training, all other knowledge will be easily superimposed. But how can this base be determined, where to find such words in order to present information to novice users in such a way that computer for dummies became clear.

I decided to take on this business and wanted to create computer courses for beginners in such a way that their learning went from the simplest to the most complex. You say that everyone does it. And here it is not. Before doing my course, I read three thick textbooks on teaching a computer for dummies, looked through a bunch of sites with video lessons and articles, and noticed this thing - literally from the first lesson, they begin to tell beginners about what the registry is, how to install windows and how print in word. But these "teachers" forget one thing, that sometimes a person does not know how to turn on a computer, and they are already starting to rub him in about what a registry is, a terribly scary word for a "teapot" (By the way, if it becomes interesting later, you can then read what a registry is, but only after going through the tutorial).

My computer courses for beginners.

Let me tell you how my first course differs from others (I also have a second course - Introduction to the Internet, but I strongly recommend that you take it after completing the first one). And it differs in that in the very first lesson (the first video is an Introduction, but it is not considered a lesson), we will learn how to work with the mouse, yes, yes, it is to work with the mouse. Believe me, knowing this will save you a lot of problems, one of these is when to click once with the mouse button, and when two (sometimes even the “oldies” get confused). mouse you will work the hardest, however, other "teachers" sometimes do not even mention the mouse, and it is with it that you will "fidget" all the time while sitting at the computer.

After that, a deeper study of what is located on the desktop will go, because it is he who opens in front of you after turning on the computer. It will be told in great detail about the Start menu, which for many beginners is a rattling forest. After watching this tutorial, you will understand that the Start menu, one of the most convenient tools for fast work with programs.

In the next step, we will go through the "Computer" tab (sometimes also called "My Computer") and everything that is in it. More precisely, not everything, but what you need, since there is some files and folders, into which even good masters "climb" for a very urgent need. By the way, a couple of incomprehensible words slipped through - a file and a folder, you will also be told about them in detail.

After which we again back to the mouse, only now to the right button, because it requires special attention and you need to know how to work with it.

After we have mastered everything that I talked about above, we will move on to more complex things, such as installing programs and games. Do you think it's difficult and scary? But no, after passing the first five lessons, you will lose this same fear, which used to slow down your learning. Here another feeling will wake up - interest.

Computer training from scratch

This is exactly what we need. After all, what is interesting to learn will always encourage you to learn something new, and in the end, you will not have time to blink an eye, as you will understand the PC at a good level.

After that we will learn how to print. After all, many, in question - how to learn how to work on a computer, mean the question, how to learn to type. And typing, we'll learn in Word program. At first, it will seem to you that you will never learn how to type quickly without special exercises. Remember, this statement is complete nonsense. I didn't do any special exercises, but I type so fast that it only takes about five minutes for a whole sheet. The only way to learn how to type fast is to type a lot. By the way, I personally learned to type quickly after I began to regularly publish articles and video tutorials on this site.

After that there will be a short lesson on working with tables in Excel.

Well, in conclusion, I will show you how to burn anything to disk. I think it's important to know this because learning how to write information to disk, with recording to a USB flash drive, you will not have any problems at all. A flash drive, it's very necessary thing and you need to know how to deal with it.

Here you go short review tutorial and finished, its meaning is very simple:

  • In the beginning, we study what is the basis of the basics (mouse, desktop)
  • After that, the environment in which we will work (My computer, Start)
  • Working with the program (Installation, and in fact, the work itself (for example, Word, Excel))

As you understand, we go from simple to complex.

Well, it remains for me to wish you a successful passage of this tutorial! To understand how to watch video tutorials correctly, be sure to study this short article - How to watch video tutorials on Teryra.com (click once, left mouse button). And then you can start going through the tutorial. Good luck!

P.S. By the way, if you like to view lessons on a computer, or you have a low Internet speed, then you can DOWNLOAD TWO TUTORIALS AT ONCE“Computer Basics” and “Introduction to the Internet”, DIRECTLY TO YOUR COMPUTER! To do this, in the right column, at the very top, enter your name and e-mail (mail), then click on the "Get Courses" button and a link will be sent to your mail and detailed instructions to download courses to your computer.

The article will tell you what a computer is and how to use it.

Nowadays, a huge number of people can use a computer and a laptop. But people are not born with these skills, everything once starts from scratch.

Beginners are interested in how to master a computer and laptop from scratch? Where to begin independent study computer/laptop? Let's talk about it in our review.

What is the difference between a computer and a laptop?

Virtually nothing. The main difference between a computer and a laptop is mobility. If a computer is a stationary device, then a laptop is a mobile device. That is, the computer must be installed on the table and used in the future, and the laptop can be freely carried with you, for which it is intended.

Both a computer and a laptop consist of a keyboard, monitor, mouse, processor, RAM, etc. Only a computer has all these components connected to each other, while a laptop is, as it were, a single monolithic device.

Installed on PC and laptop operating system, for example, " Windows" (most common) or " linux". If you master, say, a computer, then you can already work on a laptop without difficulty and vice versa. Therefore, in this review, we will not give two instructions, but we will talk about how to use a computer.

The operating system is a kind of "soul" of the computer. it software which makes it possible to work on a computer. When you turn on the computer, it is the operating system that starts working first, we see this when the monitor lights up:

Let's start studying the computer with the operating system

If there were no operating system, we would see only a black screen and some incomprehensible letters with numbers that are of no use to us. Working on a computer is actually working with programs that, in general, make up the operating system.

You see how the mouse cursor runs around the screen - this is the work of the operating system. What about typing? Photo? Video? Even the sounds from the speakers are only possible thanks to the operating system. In the last century, music was listened to from the record on which the song was recorded. Now audio and video files are presented in digital format, that is, in the form of programs.

The operating system allows you to bring your monitor, mouse, keyboard, speakers, and all the devices that together make up your computer to life. Without it, the computer is just a "lifeless" iron organism. Remember, the operating system is the soul of the computer.

Windows

In general, operating systems can be different. Some of them are very famous, others are not very common among ordinary ordinary users.

« Windows"Relates to the most common operating systems, which is notable for its convenience and is great for use not only by specialists, but also by ordinary people at home.

« Windows" also comes in different versions: " Windows 95», « Windows 7», « Windows XP», « Windows 8», « Windows 10" etc. The most common are the seven, eight and ten. The once popular Windows XP” is officially considered obsolete, although it is still quite possible to work on it.

Distinguish versions " Windows» among themselves can be in appearance:

There is also another easy way to find out what version of the operating system is installed on your computer:

  • Click on the button in the lower left corner Start» left mouse button
  • Next, click on the item " A computer" (or " My computer») right click mice.
  • Then in the new window that opens, left-click on the item " Properties»

  • After that, a folder will open in which information on your operating system will be indicated.

Find out what operating system is installed on our computer

So, we briefly studied what an operating system is. Now let's proceed to the study of the computer itself.

We study the PC device

Components of a computer

In order to learn how to work on a computer, you first need to study its design. That is, you need to know which devices are part of such a thing as a "personal computer".

In principle, most people have an idea of what the components of a computer are called, but we will explain everything in more detail so that it is easier for beginners to manage these parts.

So, the computer consists of:

  • Internal parts- these are the elements that make up the system unit (a large box with a power button). In principle, the system unit is a computer, as such. And everything else, for example, a mouse, is just an integral part of this computer.
  • External parts- these are, in fact, the components of the computer that we connect to the system side (keyboard, etc.).

In turn, all the described parts of a computer can be classified based on their interaction with a person:

  • Input devices- These are devices that enable a person to give instructions to a computer (mouse, keyboard).
  • Information output devices- devices that transmit information from a computer to a person (monitor, speakers).
  • Input/output devices- these are, respectively, those devices that combine the concepts described above (disk drive).

Now let's talk about the main devices, without which work on the computer will be impossible.

System unit

What does the system block look like?

So, the system unit is the brain of the computer. To understand why the system unit is such an important part of the PC, you just need to examine what is inside it.

Inside the system unit is the motherboard - this is a kind of huge microcircuit, in which, in fact, absolutely all elements of the computer are built in: processor, RAM, video card, sound card, disk drive, as well as all connectors (to which a monitor, keyboard, mouse, network cable and everything else).

You can also connect to the system unit wifi device, and TV tuner, and gaming consoles. This is a matter of taste and needs. When buying, you yourself order what kind of computer you need: for playing games, for watching videos or just for accessing the Internet. Based on this, the system unit is assembled with all its constituent elements.

There are at least two buttons on the system unit: turn on the computer and restart:

Power button on the system unit

All other important parts of the PC, such as the monitor, mouse, keyboard and speakers, are already selected under the system unit. That is, when buying a computer, you need to start with the system unit, and then select everything else for it. By the way, you can freely change the monitor or keyboard if they are out of order or no longer meet your requirements. But with a laptop, this number will no longer work.

Monitor

computer monitor

Everyone knows what TV is. Everyone watched him. A computer monitor is not exactly a TV, but it performs the same function, that is, the function of displaying information on the screen. If in the case of a TV such information is transmitted through an antenna or a television cable (analog signal), then information is transmitted to the computer monitor from the system unit. More precisely, the signal comes from the video card, which is located in the system unit, as we learned above.

Monitors come in different sizes, which is determined, for example, by the length of the screen diagonal and is measured in inches. The quality of the picture does not depend on the size of the screen. The screen resolution is responsible for the quality of the image. That is the number of pixels (electronic dots) per square inch. These dots on the screen make up the image. Accordingly, the more dots (the higher the screen resolution), the better, sharper and livelier the picture.

Speakers

Speakers

Just like a monitor, speakers receive a signal with information from the system unit, but they only output it not in the form of an image, but in the form of sound. This signal is transmitted from the system unit at the expense of the sound card.

Computer speakers differ from conventional classic speakers in that they also have an audio amplifier inside them. The sound card transmits only an analog signal (for example, as a player), and then the signal, as usual, is processed in the amplifier and goes to the speakers. Computer speakers have a cord with an outlet precisely because they connect an audio amplifier (not speakers) to the network.

Keyboard

computer keyboard

We discussed output devices above, now let's talk about input devices and start with the keyboard.

Everyone knows that the keyboard is designed to type text, which we then (or rather not “later”, but immediately) see on the screen. The keyboard, respectively, has all the necessary keys with letters, numbers and other symbols.

There are also keys, thanks to which we can give the computer certain commands. For example, if we press the " cap lock", this will give us the ability to print text capital letters, well, or start a word (name, name) with a capital letter. By pressing the keys on which the arrows are shown, we can scroll the page (on the Internet, or in any folder on the computer) up or down.

Mouse

The computer mouse received this name for the reason that it is a bit like a living mouse, that is, it has a body and a tail (cord):

PC mouse

The computer mouse is designed primarily so that we can move the cursor on the monitor screen with the greatest comfort. If we were to use the keyboard exclusively, then this would give us unnecessary trouble and take a lot of time.

A standard mouse has two buttons (left and right) and a wheel. Left button provides, as it were, basic actions when, for example, we move the mouse cursor over a folder and open it by clicking on this button. In the same way, we close windows and programs - we hover over the cross icon and press the left button.

The right button is responsible for additional actions, for example, opens a menu or additional windows. The wheel, on the other hand, allows you to scroll the page up and down, as is done with the corresponding keys on the keyboard.

21st century - century computer technology. It is difficult to imagine such a kind of activity that would not require at least minimal knowledge from a person. desktop computer and ability to use standard set programs. Even in those areas where previously all work was done only manually and on paper, the main requirement for an employee is the ability to handle computers.

The current situation can bring a lot of inconvenience to people who have never been lucky enough to encounter anything more technologically advanced than a typewriter. It can be especially hard for pensioners and older people who will be forced to independently learn the basics of computer literacy from scratch so as not to lose their favorite job.

If you belong to a group of people who do not have basic computer skills and do not have the opportunity to sign up for special training seminars, then do not worry ahead of time. With desire, perseverance and a certain amount of time, you can quickly learn how to handle a computer at the user level. In this article, we will show you how to do this, where to start, and provide you with a set of resources and materials for self-study.

Beginner's Basic Rule

  • Before moving on to learning, you should learn the main rule, the essence of which is that a computer cannot be mastered solely in theory. Even if you re-read a lot of literature and review a large number of training videos, without practice you still will not achieve the desired result.
  • Therefore, in order to get necessary knowledge You need to interact with the computer throughout the learning process. To do this, you will need to turn it on daily and in practice master the materials you have read or viewed. Do not be upset if at first you do not understand anything. After the beginning of the learning process, this feeling will soon leave you and you will independently begin to experiment and learn new features and functions of the computer.
  • At the initial stage, it is recommended to resort to the tips of a person who has computer knowledge at the level of an advanced user. Ask for help from your acquaintances, friends or relatives, so that in the process of mastering your PC they can give a hint if something does not work out for you. If there are no such people, then training videos can replace them.

What programs and Internet resources to master on a laptop computer in the first place?

  • 1 . If you have absolutely no computer skills, then the first thing you need to learn is turning the computer on and off. If in most cases it is enough to turn on the power button on the case to turn it on, then to turn off the computer and shut it down correctly, you need to master the operating system interface and the main menu. Start". If you turn it off with the power button, then it will not live with you for a long time.

  • 2 . At the next stage, you will need to master the basics of working with the operating system. Namely, to understand how to open folders, files, run standard applications similar to text editor « Notebook" or graphic editor « Paint". Also, in the process of studying the operating system, you can explore the menu " Start" and " Control Panel". It is not recommended to change any parameters there, but it will be extremely useful to study their sections and read about the settings.

  • 3 . After mastering the principles of the operating system, you can proceed to the study of the browser through which the Internet is accessed. This application extremely simple and after mastering it you will be able to visit various sites and take from them the information you need.
  • As soon as you understand the browser interface, immediately take care to study such search engines, how " Yandex" and " Google". Their development will help you in finding the necessary information, both for further education and for other purposes.
  • After mastering search engines, you should understand the principle of operation of mail hosting " Yandex», « Mail.ru », « gmail” and create a mailbox on one of them, which will be useful for you both for communicating and exchanging files with your friends, and for registering on various sites and Internet services.

  • 4 . After minimal mastery of the Internet and search engines, you should take care of the security of your computer. First, beware of sites with suspicious content. Advertising sites and sites with adult content may contain malicious software (viruses) that quietly enter the user's computer and disrupt its operation. Read online about antivirus programs, choose, download and install one of them on your computer.

VIDEO: Computer from scratch. Everything about the computer in 1 hour

Hello dear readers! I recently walked through the expanses of our already integral component in the life of every person, which is the Internet. Typed in the search "Computer for beginners", and saw absolutely nothing.

Of course, there are some instances, it seems that you can stop at something, but either the design that eats out the eyes interferes, or the topic of computers itself is diluted with a lot of water. What exactly am I leading up to? I want to start my chain of lessons on learning the computer.

A computer is a tool to achieve goals. In order for the tool to work purposefully, you need to study it, understand why you need it. Let's do that, let's start "taming the beast."

Lesson #1 - Computer Awareness

The first lesson should start with studying the components of the computer, to figure out what these or those of its components are responsible for.

The computer consists of a system unit, monitor, keyboard and mouse. Most likely, everyone knows about this, but you and I are not some kind of “dummies”, as advanced users like to call beginners. Therefore, we will consider in more detail.

A typical personal computer (PC) has the following structure:

1. Monitor(Display) - a device for displaying graphics and text information. Everyone knows him and knows about his appointment. In other words, this is the device with which you are now seeing and reading this article.

2. Computer mouse - also familiar to everyone "animal", with its help you move the cursor on the monitor screen.

3. Keyboard- This is a device with keys arranged in a certain order, with the help of which information is entered into the computer (for example, typing in a notepad).

4. System unit - this is a case that protects the elements inside from damage and maintains the necessary temperature conditions for correct operation. It also provides shielding to internal components.

Shielding is protection against all kinds of influences, including electromagnetic ones, with the help of a material that absorbs them (in our case, it is steel and aluminum that make up the case).

The system unit is the main component, many say that it is the brain of the computer, that it is responsible for all operations, but they are a little mistaken. The system unit is just a case that houses the components of a computer. You can verify this by looking at the following image:

To better understand what a computer consists of, let's take a closer look at the elements that are inside the system unit.

5. Power Supply - provides stability in the operation of all elements of the computer. Provides electricity by converting alternating current(which is used in everyday life, in other words, in sockets) into a permanent one.

6. Drive A device that reads and writes information to a disk or floppy disk. They began to refuse from floppy disks quite a long time ago, replacing them with USB flash drives (flash drives), but still some people still use them, so I decided to mention them.

7. (Winchester, HDD) - a data storage device in a computer. In simple words, this is a device on which an operating system is installed and your information is stored (music, movies, games, documents, etc.)

8. Motherboard- the main board, which is located inside the system unit, the main components of the computer (such as a processor, RAM, etc.) are installed on it.

9. CPU(CPU) is the brain, to put it in simple words. It is responsible for processing information and controls the components of the computer.

10.PATA(ATA) – port for connecting drives ( hard drives, disk drive.)

Modern computers also use SATA(for connecting drives) is a follower of PATA, which successfully replaces it.

11.RAM(RAM, RAM) is a memory that temporarily stores any data needed by the processor in this moment. She works much faster hard drive, therefore, it is used while programs or games are running, when you turn off the computer, all data from it is erased. The larger its volume, the more tasks you can perform at the same time.

12.Expansion card- a board that is placed in a special slot on the motherboard to receive additional features(e.g. video card, sound card).

video card(GPU) - converts the image from the computer's memory into a video signal for the monitor. Performance in games and other 2D and 3D applications depends on it.

Sound card- converts sound from analog signal in digital. With it, you have the ability to record and play sound. On modern motherboards there are connectors for connecting devices (speakers, headphones, etc.), but the sound card can perform more complex sound processing than the standard one, which is integrated into the motherboard.

Summarize. In this article, we examined the main components of a computer, figured out what they are for and what they are responsible for. This concludes our first lesson, and in order not to miss the release of the next,. I wish you easy learning, creative and personal success.
