Fixed

Hi all! I had a short break in anticipation of an unusual novelty. And now it fell into my hands latest tablet from SONY under the name "Xperia Z4 Tablet". As you might guess, this is the fourth revision of this tablet. With each new model, the tablet is getting steeper and steeper, in fact, I'm wondering when the limit of this very coolness will come. Apparently, SONY believes that this is still very far away, and I probably agree with this. Xperia Z4 Tablet is the quintessence of its kind in this direction and sometimes it's hard to believe that the company could create such an advanced and unique model. However, all the details are further in the text.

I'll start this review with the technical specifications:

PACKAGE

The tablet comes in a small cardboard box. The cardboard is quite dense, the color is white with a matte tint. The packaging is of good quality and will last a long time.

On the front side there is an image of a tablet in black and white. In the right upper corner the product's name.

The right and left ends of the package are painted black.

On the back of the package you can see the available colors, as well as read a brief technical information. The tablet is made in China.

Inside the box, the tablet is packed in a shipping bag, with a temporary film on the screen for transportation.

EQUIPMENT

Now let's see what can be found in the bowels of the box.

1. The tablet itself.

2. Charger.

3. Micro USB to USB cable.

4. Quick Guide user.

5. Technical plan documentation.

As you can see, the delivery set is the minimum possible, there are only the most necessary components for work.

APPEARANCE

I got the black version for review, but other colors will be on sale.

Let me tell you straight away that this moment The Xperia Z4 Tablet is the SMALLEST, SMALLEST, MOST powerful ruggedized tablet. No one has even come close to the product from SONY in terms of these parameters, and in fact, hardly anyone will do it. By the way, since the previous tablet, no one has released a similar product.

When you take the tablet in your hands, you can not believe that it is so light and thin. The weight is only 392 grams and for such a tablet is a very small weight. The thickness is also amazing, only 6.1 mm. In general, when you hold a tablet in your hands, the feeling that it can simply crumble in your hands does not leave you, but of course, in reality, this is not the case.

In appearance, the tablet does not differ much from previous models, the company strictly follows this direction. To be honest, I personally have already become bored with "Omni Balance Design" and in fact I see everything the same for the fourth time, I want some differences or some kind of zest.

And so, the tablet has quite a bit rounded corners in which metal inserts are mounted, they in turn protect the corners of the tablet if you drop it.

A metal edging runs along the perimeter of the tablet, and only the SIM-card and memory card slot is covered with a plastic cap. All other controls are also made of metal. The power button is made of silver metal and stands out well against the overall dark background of the tablet.

The screen frames in this version have become a little narrower, but there is still a fairly large margin in width. In the future, for sure, it will be possible to put a screen with a larger diagonal in such a case. The entire front surface of the tablet is covered with a glass panel.

The back side of the tablet is already made of plastic. dark color. Moreover, the texture of the plastic itself is matte and rough. Plus in such coverage, it's practically complete absence scratches, as well as fingerprints do not remain on such a coating, and the chance to drop the gadget from your hands is also minimal.

In general, holding the tablet in your hands is very convenient and comfortable, it is quite possible to use your hand, the weight allows. There are no protruding elements in the design of the tablet, everything is smooth and smooth.

By tradition, all tablets from SONY are protected from external factors, and the hero of our review was no exception. The level of protection in this tablet is IP68 and this is the maximum value for mobile technology. The IP68 parameter tells us that this tablet is completely protected from the ingress of dust of any diameter and in any quantity. Also, this tablet is completely protected from moisture. It is possible with it to completely dive into the input to a depth of up to 1.5 meters and within 30 minutes.

I would like to note that the 3.5 mm jack remained open and can be safely filled with water, although this was also the case in the previous model. But in this tablet, Micro was also made open. USB connector, and it remains a mystery to me how the company made it resistant to moisture.

I can't say anything bad about the build quality. SONY is SONY. Of course, I am not an ardent fan of this brand, but in this case I confidently declare that the assembly and quality of the product as a whole is just perfect.

CONTROLS

Traditional review of controls.

At the top is a 3.5mm headphone jack. Slot for memory card and SIM card. There was also a place for a microphone.

On the right side there is only a Micro USB connector.

In turn, there are no controls on the bottom end.

On the left side is the power button and a paired volume button.

On the back side, only the main camera, NFC sensor and manufacturer's logos.

On the front side: front camera, sensor automatic adjustment brightness, "SONY" logo, status indicator. Touch buttons occupy a selected area on the screen.

SCREEN

I am not a supporter of screens with super high resolutions in smartphones, but in tablets such resolution is a different matter.

And so we have IPS matrix with a diagonal of 10.1 inches at a resolution of 2560x1600 pixels. The pixel density at these values is 299ppi and I personally did not notice any individual pixels on the screen.

Multi-touch for 10 touches.

IPS matrix provides maximum viewing angles, which actually demonstrates our tablet.

In the sun, the screen also showed itself with positive side, the image fades slightly and the information is always visible, the anti-glare filter in action.

The screen is made using OGS technology, which eliminates the air gap between the glass and the touch layer. I would like to note the effective oleophobic coating, prints practically do not remain on the screen, and which are, are easily removed. As mentioned above, the screen is closed protective glass, but according to tradition, SONY does not disclose the type of this glass.

In the screen settings there is such a parameter as "X-Reality for mobile" when activated, the quality of photos and videos on viewing is improved.

There is also a "Ultimate brightness mode" when it is turned on, it increases at once maximum quality color reproduction.

The level of maximum brightness can be described as high, there is even a margin, and this is good considering that previous models could not boast of this parameter. For example, compared with the Xperia Z2 Tablet, the maximum brightness has increased by 40%.

The adaptive adjustment function changes the brightness of the screen based on the analysis of ambient light.

For lovers fine tuning There is such an item as "White Balance" where you can actually adjust this value manually.

I really like the smart screen backlight feature. When you hold the screen in your hands, it is always on, but when you put the tablet on the table, the screen will turn off. This function works on the readings of the gyroscope.

According to this graph, it can be judged that, in general, the gamma curves are quite stable. We can talk about the correct saturation of color shades.

But with the color gamut, as you can see, things did not work out. It is quite far from the sRGB standard, the green color has "left" especially strongly. This parameter allows you to say that color reproduction suffers a little.

The points of the gray wedge also lie far beyond the borders of the Delta circle.

The color temperature is quite far from the 6500k standard. Cold tones may be present in the palette.

Color channels are also not stable. There may be color rendering problems.

If you do not take readings in the screen analysis measuring instrument, then this screen is still pretty good. An ordinary consumer is unlikely to notice any flaws in the screen settings by eye.

CAMERA

The main camera is an 8.1-megapixel matrix with Exmor RS technology. The matrix uses as many as 6 lenses, and again it is not clear how the company managed to cram all this wealth into a 6.1 mm case, miracles and nothing more.

It is generally accepted that cameras in tablets are far from their counterparts in smartphones in terms of shooting quality, of course there is some truth in this. But the camera in the Xperia Z4 Tablet still shoots pretty well. Personally, I have noticed slight white balance issues in an otherwise obvious and visible problems no.

There is autofocus, and it works very quickly, and the camera itself is distinguished by its rate of fire.

The main mode of operation of the camera is "Super Auto Mode" - the camera itself analyzes the external environment and selects the necessary parameters. You can use the manual settings, but personally I didn’t notice any difference in work and in the pictures, so the “Super Auto Mode” copes with its tasks confidently. It is worth noting the excellent macro photography, so there will be no problems when photographing text.

The main operating modes of the camera are as follows:

MANUALLY. Manual setting photo and video camera settings.

AR EFFECT. You can take photos and shoot videos with virtual scenes and characters (augmented reality).

ARTISTIC EFFECT. Effects for photos and videos.

PANORAMIC VIEW. Mode for taking a panoramic picture.

The actual camera settings can be seen in the screenshots below:

Next, I propose to independently evaluate the quality of the shooting. I want to warn you that in Vladivostok it is constantly cloudy and it rains, so it is almost impossible to take photos in sunny weather. Below, as always, there will be a link to the original photographs.

The maximum video quality is FullHD at 30 frames per second. Below are a few videos in various
permissions.

The front camera on the Xperia Z4 Tablet is a wide-angle 5.1-megapixel sensor with a 25mm lens, which ensures that video chat quality is always on top.

A couple of shots to evaluate the quality:

The front camera can also shoot video in FullHD format at the same 30 frames per second.

SOFTWARE AND TABLET SETTINGS

In this section, I want to deviate from my style and demonstrate the interface and operation of the tablet using this video as an example.

IN WORK

Xperia Z4 Tablet is the first tablet on the Russian market with Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 installed. We have as many as 8 cores, but they work separately. Four powerful 64-bit ARM Cortex-A57 cores are complemented by four power-efficient Cortex-A53 cores.

Responsible for graphics Adreno 430 with support for 4K resolutions, OpenGL ES 3.1, hardware tessellation, geometry shaders, programmable blending and new security features; Compared to the Adreno 420, the new GPU delivers 30% better graphics performance.

Actually, what else does an avid gamer need. If you look at the results of synthetic tests, you can see that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 "tears" everything. Even a screen with 2k resolution does not become an obstacle for such a powerful bundle. Needless to say, when the tablet is working, there are no lags, let alone brakes, everything is very smooth and clear. The sensor responds instantly without any delay.

Now let's turn to gaming applications. I want to say right away that at the moment there is no gaming application where the possibilities given processor will be 100% involved. Further, just cutting the game video and, as they say, no comments.

The tablet has as much as 3GB of RAM installed, which is certainly not a record, there are smartphones that already have 4GB of RAM on board. Under the cache, the system takes about 500MB, it is used simultaneously on average 1GB and about 1.3GB remains in free use.

Permanent memory in the tablet 32GB. We have about 20 GB left in free access. It should be borne in mind that versions with 16GB will not be on sale, and this is good.

The 128GB card worked in the tablet without any problems. Transfer applications to external card memory is impossible and in fact it only serves to store various media content. So the remaining 20GB should be used rationally, but in any case, a dozen cool games can be installed.

I really liked the sound in this tablet. Two loud stereo speakers really give out high-quality sound. The volume is just great and even with a margin. At maximum volume, there is no background or sound distortion. Excellent listening low frequencies and it's just great.

This tablet is compatible with Hi-Res Audio technology. The Z4 Tablet already has this envelope built in. If you have headphones that are compatible with Hi-Res Audio, you simply enjoy the benefits of this technology by using these headphones.

High definition audio provides a higher audio sampling rate. High definition audio frequency - 24bit/96kHz and 24bit/192kHz. High definition audio files (DSD, DSD-dsf, WAV, AIFF, FLAC, ALAC) are encoded in one of six popular formats.

Of course, the tablet has a full-fledged GPS module, as well as support Russian system GLONASS. The first "cold" start took me only about 30 seconds. Further, on average, the satellites were displayed according to the 9/15 scheme. Positioning accuracy on the ground was about 3 meters.

You can install a "nano" SIM card into the tablet and thereby turn your tablet into a full-fledged smartphone with a giant screen and top-end stuffing. Since we have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, we get fourth-generation LTE Advanced, which provides data transfer speeds up to 300 Mbps and provides the widest support for LTE spectrums today (the company claims that these are the first 64-bit processors on the market with integrated support for LTE Advanced worldwide). Simply put, we are provided with high-speed Internet around the world.

Well, in conclusion, I will say that the connection function is fully implemented external devices. With a USB-OTG cable, you can connect almost anything where there is a full-fledged USB connector.

AUTONOMOUS WORK

The battery in our case has a capacity of 6000 mAh, is it a lot or a little, let's find out further:

1. Work in 3D applications - 5 hours.

2. Video playback at 50% screen brightness, 720p video - 8 hours.

3. Work in the "just a phone" mode with a connected BT headset - 3 days.

4. MP3 playback in headphones - 74 hours.

5. Mixed cycle: video, games, communication, music - 18 hours.

Given the thickness and filling of the tablet, I state that offline work succeeded with glory. Qualcomm fast charging technology supported quick charge 2.0, in an hour you can charge the tablet up to 70 percent, in 2 hours 30 minutes the tablet is fully charged.

ENDURANCE TESTS

In this test, I tried to scratch the screen with improvised means, but as you can see, nothing came of it.

But the back panel may well be scratched if you do not use a protective case.

A banal test, but nevertheless, the tablet perfectly tolerates water procedures.

Dropping the screen down from a height of 1 m. 20 cm did not adversely affect the tablet itself.

Falling at a corner also did not affect the operation of the device.

A shot at the screen from 10 meters from an air pistol did not cause any damage. The screen remained intact, the tablet worked

A shot from 3 meters to the rear turned out to be fatal. The lead bullet went almost to the exit. After this shot, the tablet no longer worked.

ATTENTION. Ladies and gentlemen, if you are going to conduct such tests, then do not forget to remove memory cards from the tested devices, for example. in front of you good example how easy it was to ditch a 128GB memory card.

CONCLUSIONS

While the tablet is rushing to the store shelves, let's turn to the official price of the SONY online store. We see that the price of this product is 46.990 rubles, as my friend said, this is protection from rogues. Well, as they say, hit the sky with your finger. At such a price in our country, and even at higher prices, I think sales will be quite small. This tablet has no direct competitors today, SONY understands this and actually uses it. Want all the best - pay money!

PROS:

1. High quality workmanship.

2. IP68 protection.

3. The thinnest, the lightest.

4. LTE support advanced.

6. Excellent stereo sound.

7. Good camera.

8. Work in cell phone mode.

9. good time offline work.

MINUSES:

1. "nano" SIM card.

2. No IR transmitter.

3. There is no possibility of transferring applications to a memory card.

4. High price.

That's all. Buy only the best! Thanks to everyone who took the time to read this review. This is my last review in June. I'm going on vacation for a month...

Good luck to everyone and see you soon!

So Sony decided to release a new flagship, although it was announced only for Japan, but not without reason. New model will not differ much from the Sony Xperia Z3. It’s quite simple to explain the reason for the repetition: good design and not bad functionality did their job and the smartphone turned out to be quite successful, and the emergence of a new model can be explained by the continuity of production, so it’s not economically profitable to fence a garden for the sake of an existing device, only with minor changes. Today I want to pay attention to this particular smartphone, as the interest in it is quite high, especially for those who are interested in new products, and of course Sony lovers. In this article, we will look at the supposed main characteristics, as well as see its possible pros and cons, which will help you choose best smartphone Gift for loved ones or buy for yourself.

First impression

One of the main changes is the reduction in thickness. New flagship will become thinner than HTC, samsung galaxy S6, iPhone 6. Sony Xperia Z4 is supposed to be about 6.9 or 6.3 mm thick. This device will have a slot for applying a card. According to rumors new phone will also be protected from dust and moisture. I note that the owners of previous models complained about poor build quality, although the gadget was presented as protected. In addition, the microUSB connector was moved to the bottom end, and it still does not have a plug, but if the assembly is of high quality, then immersion in water will not bring any particular trouble. In the end, I can say that the appearance will not change, so you can just read the description of the Sony Xperia Z3.

Display

It is said that there will be two screen options with FullHD and QuadHD screen resolution. Diagonal 5.2 inches, resolution 1920 by 1080 pixels. The display will be protected from scratches and other damage by Gorilla Glass. The protective glass has earned the approval of both owners and manufacturers. In the past, the company also had a problem with the firmware, we are talking about the so-called dead pixels, which eventually make themselves felt. In other matters, this can be fought, so everything is not so scary. It is not known about the other characteristics, but according to the experience of previous models, the color reproduction is good, the viewing angles are maximum, the screen behaves well in the sun. AT general characteristics Pretty good, it remains to hope for high-quality firmware.

Processor 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810. RAM 3 GB, built-in 32 GB, expandable up to 128 GB using a memory card. The Sony Xperia Z4 will run on Android 5.0 Lollipop, with the addition of Sony's shell API. In principle, normal characteristics, programs and applications pull normally without freezes, there should be no problems with toys.

The battery capacity is 2930 mAh, which is definitely not a bad figure even for such a processor, besides, it is worth considering that the display is not very large, which will allow the phone to hold a charge all day. According to the previous model, I can say that the smartphone holds a charge: 16 hours of talk time, 920 hours of standby time, up to 130 hours of listening to music, and up to 10 hours of video viewing. In general, I can say that the smartphone does not have a bad battery, but, of course, depending on who uses it.

Camera

The main camera is 20.7 megapixels, the front camera is 5.1, which will help you take a high-quality selfie, not to mention Skype communication. It is also said that there will be an opportunity optical stabilization images, which will definitely improve the quality of the photo. Also, apparently, the autofocus function will remain. Of course, there are smartphones with more the best camera, but here, too, everything is not bad, at least in the daytime the pictures are good.

Here is another interesting video Sony review Xperia Z4

Sony updates tablets once a year, and year after year they get better and better. I wonder how many years it takes for a tablet with a ten-inch display to turn into an ideal product with almost no flaws ...

Design, construction

Dimensions are 254 x 167 x 6.1 mm, weight - only 390 grams. Good performance for a tablet with a ten-inch display. The case is made of rough plastic, not velvety, namely rough, fingerprints are visible only on the display. If you don't like plastic, then there are no special options, then immediately look towards the iPad. There are no questions about the assembly, finally got rid of the plugs, the 3.5 mm and microUSB connectors are open. Yes, the slot for a memory card and a SIM card (nanoSIM), of course, is under a cover. Magnetic charging is a thing of the past, this is due to the rejection of the microUSB plug, now there is no need for it. There is protection against water, the tablet can easily survive even when submerged to a depth of one and a half meters. After salt water, it will need to be rinsed, but this is a common rule for devices with a similar degree of protection. Two body colors, black and white, there are no other color solutions.

The tablet looks good, the bezels are not that big, the branding of the button and the edges. There are complaints about the location of the power and volume buttons, often accidentally blocking the device. On the back there is an NFC area, a camera, there is no flash.

The branded case for the tablet is not too beautiful, but it allows you to install the Z4 Tablet to watch videos, but the keyboard is very interesting. It instantly turns the Z4 into a Chromebook, there is a touchpad, a cursor appears on the screen, the keys are well made, it is quite possible to sit down and type a small text. The tablet is inserted into the groove until it clicks, the overall impression is like from a compact laptop - the design is somewhat reminiscent of the Sony VAIO X. The laptop was beautiful, although insanely slow. Could Sony at the time of X imagine what awaits the company in the near future? No, they couldn't. In any case, if you want to buy a Sony laptop now, buy a tablet with a keyboard.

Let me remind you once again that a nanoSIM card is used, the tablet can be used for voice calls with or without a headset.

I’ll say one thing about ergonomics, it’s nice to hold a tablet in your hands, because it’s light, but any attempt to watch a movie fails - you either need to buy a branded case or build a stand, lean the Z4 Tablet somewhere, and so that there is an emphasis at the bottom. The tablet easily slides off and falls on the table. The speakers are not very loud, so I used an external speaker to watch TV shows.

I want to note that we use the photo from a first glance, since the appearance of the device has not changed.

Display

Diagonal IPS-display - 10.1 inches, resolution - 2560 x 1600 pixels. The screen is bright and somehow calm, there are no screaming acid colors, as in Samsung tablets. Maybe it's also a matter of operating system, Lollipop has an extremely concise design. The image quality is good, but there are problems in commercial samples, at least there are user complaints about uneven backlighting. I specifically mention this so that you carefully examine the display in various applications and menus before buying. There were no problems in my sample.

There is a color temperature setting in the menu, it will help someone. The light sensor sometimes works quite unexpectedly, for example, in the evening the backlight decreases very much, and it is impossible to read any site. So, I set the brightness to three quarters, which seems to me the optimal value.

The viewing angles of the screen are good, for watching movies it is also close to ideal, given the aspect ratio. But let me just remind you about a miniature speaker (or headphones) and a case, they will come in handy when paired with the Z4 Tablet. Here’s the situation for you - you won’t put it on an airplane without a cover, or you will have to support the body with various objects.

Modifications and performance

Two main modifications are supplied to our market, this is the version with Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + 4G. Moreover, LTE Advanced is supported, in theory this is a speed of up to 300 Mbps, in practice you can achieve about 100 Mbps. As Sony says, Russian operators quite ready for this technology. As for memory, one version with 32 GB on board. But there is a slot for microUSB memory cards, so you can always increase. Cards up to 128 GB are supported. The presence of a slot is a pleasant difference from Apple tablets, but, in fact, this is the only advantage.

The tablet already comes with Android 5.0 Lollipop, like the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua, these are the first swallows of the company, where the “lollipop” is installed by default. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 platform with the Adreno 430 GPU is used, you can read more about it. Another worth mentioning is 3 GB of RAM. I did not notice any performance problems, I can run the most demanding applications and games on hardware. When working with the menu, I did not notice any lags.

Like the Z3 family, work with PS4 is supported, the tablet can be connected via Wi-Fi to the set-top box and use the device's screen to play along with the DualShock 4 joystick. turns into a miniature TV. There will be a special holder for the joystick, where you can put a smartphone or tablet. While all this will only work within home wifi networks, but they promise to expand the possibilities - for example, in another city, turn on the set-top box using the Z4, launch CoD, put the tablet in the joystick and play quietly for an hour before going to bed. Considering the resolution of the display, details would hardly be an issue.

There is support for Hi-Res Sound, which means not only different formats, but also a number of software features. For example, this is digital noise reduction, automatic "correction" of low-quality tracks, auto tuning equalizer for your headphones and advanced options for working with wireless headsets. It is gratifying that Sony continues to pay attention to sound this year, but in reality it would be better if the company paid more attention to the final quality of the product.

The usual menu Sony apps and the usual design, it annoys many - I personally annoy the AVG Protection antivirus, you can live with the rest. The tablet with Lollipop has a minimalistic menu with beautiful icons and a beautifully made notification panel, from the locked display, you can immediately go to the program for calls, in the menu running programs you can add launch icons for mini-applications, for example, a calculator, a timer, and other utilities.

Camera

The main camera is 8.1 MP, the front camera is 5.1 MP, you can see examples of photos below - it is very difficult to take a normal picture, because the camera here is frankly weak, especially in comparison with the iPad. In conditions of poor lighting, this task becomes even more difficult, the device misses, there are flashes, overexposures, the pictures are blurry. There are many settings - very little sense. On the iPad, you need to point and shoot, but here you need to hold tight, press clearly and pray that everything will work out. But, alas, it doesn't always work.

Food

The battery capacity is 6000 mAh, there is something interesting. Firstly, this tablet is water resistant, like other Sony flagship devices, but it uses capless usb, that is, a microUSB connector without plugs. Secondly, Qualcomm quick charge 2.0 technology is supported, you can charge the tablet up to 70 percent in an hour. It takes another hour and a half to fully charge the battery. The good news is that earlier Sony tablets had to be charged overnight. Well, now you can connect it to the outlet for an hour and then continue to go about your business. True, for full charge it will still take about five-odd hours when using the PSU from the kit (alas). Thirdly, to use Qualcomm quick charge 2.0, the device must support this technology and a special power supply is needed. And there is a curious moment, it turns out that a lot of Sony devices can work with this technology, you only need a special power supply (!). And Sony will sell it already this year - and sell it, and maybe even add it to the kit (!). The technology works with Z2 and all devices of the Z3 family, I can't wait to try it with my smartphone.

The power supply is called Quick Charger UCH10, the price is 1,590 rubles, it is already in the company store, I advise you to buy it for all owners of the Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet. And I also advise the owners of Sony Xperia Z2, Z3, Z3 Compact to buy it.

In the video viewing mode, the declared operating time is about 17 hours, in reality, the tablet can really work for a very, very long time, if not too painful, then this is two days. Otherwise, it all depends on the applications used - as in other Sony devices, it is better not to use Chrome and monitor running utilities social networks, for example, Facebook also drains the battery very quickly.

It is a pity that there is no power supply for fast charging right in the kit.

conclusions

I really love Sony products Sony, smartphones are getting better every year - that's how good the Z3 Compact turned out. And in Z3 +, they finished almost everything they could. It works for a long time, there is no microUSB plug, the camera is good. You can, you can live! But with tablets, Sony somehow does not work out. It does not come out to finish up to a relative ideal. Although I can name one such, this is the Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact - the device turned out to be nothing, and now you can buy it for 23,990 rubles.

And the Z4 Tablet is offered in the company store for 46,990 rubles, a version with 32 GB of memory, Wi-Fi + LTE. There is a "bundle" with a BKB50 keyboard worth 52,990 rubles. The version without LTE costs 41,990 rubles. Even if you hate Apple, it's worth a look at iPad Air 2, however, Sony acted cunningly, there is no “ipad” with 32 GB in the line, but there is a version with 64 GB, Wi-Fi + LTE, and the model costs 48,990 rubles in the Apple brand store. You can look for "American", it will be cheaper.

What are the advantages of Sony tablet is there before the iPad Air 2? There are a lot of them on paper, Z4 Tablet is lighter, not afraid of water, they say Android gives the user more freedom (but that's just what they say). In reality, there are only two advantages - the tablet can be used as a smartphone with or without a headset, you buy a SIM card, and you can immediately make calls. If you want - see sites, if you want - communicate. The second advantage is support for memory cards, by the way, applications can also be installed on a card.

This is where the benefits end. The plastic case looks cheap, the screen seems to be quite good, but there are too many complaints on the net about marriage and uneven backlighting, there is no camera compared to the iPad. Lights, problems with sharpness, and even in HDR mode, there are no occasions. The tablet case is heated, but God bless him.

Let's look at the pros and cons of the device, I'll start with the cons.

  • Long charging time, there is no power supply for Qualcomm quick charge 2.0 in the kit - given the price of the tablet, we could put such a power supply in the kit
  • Not too much good quality shooting for a premium device, most shots just don’t work (with video the situation is a little better) Why not put a normal camera module here, like in Z3? Is it going to be a great price increase?
  • The case is thin, light, which is kind of great - but this case also feels flimsy, and immediately get ready to invest in a case for the device to watch videos and not hold the tablet in your hands.
  • Good hardware, powerful processor - get ready to heat up. Although this is a relative minus
  • Speakers disappointed me in everyday use
  • Users complain about the quality of the screen, so we advise you to carefully check the display before buying
  • The price "pleases" many consumers - well, do not forget that you can always sell the iPad in the secondary market, but with the Sony tablet you are tormented

Pros:

  • Water-resistant, although I don't think tablets are often exposed to jets of water or the sea. I think it's more marketing.
  • MicroUSB plug gone
  • Supports fast charging, good battery life
  • Performance processor
  • Support for LTE and the ability to make voice calls
  • Good display (with some caveats, read above)
  • Slim and light body for a 10-inch tablet (but there are caveats)
  • Android 5.0 out of the box
  • There is a radio. Is that a plus?

I would personally put up with the price if Sony made a Sony tablet. That is, you wait, as of old, technology and design. A bezel-less display, an excellent camera, at least like in smartphones of last year, so that noise-canceling headphones and a power supply with fast charging support are included in the kit, so that rear end or the entire body of glass or metal. In general, if you pay fifty thousand, then pay for the THING. Here, not everything is perfect, and you can sympathize with the company's engineers, it seems that high-quality components are taken away from them, they are not allowed to be used in the company's tablets. Meanwhile, the company does not make a hundred tablets with different names and characteristics in one year, but only one or two. Could everything be done perfectly or close to it? Yes, I think you can.

Nice try, Sony, but I hope I don't have to write a list of shortcomings in the review of the Z5 Tablet at all.

I have unassuming taste
the best is enough for me.

Until recently, Sony released an average of two flagship Z-smartphone per year and only one Z-tablet. It is likely that now new "tablets" from Sony will appear more often, while smartphones, on the contrary, less often. See for yourself: relatively recently, at the end of 2014, the Z3 Tablet Compact saw the light - the first eight-inch device in current line Xperia tablets Z. Already now, after only about six months, a new "tablet" Sony - Xperia Z4 Tablet - has entered the market. She, like the first gadgets of the Tablet Z series, is ten-inch. True, her resolution is not Full HD, as before, but 2K - 2560 × 1600 pixels. This is the main feature of the device. The gadget also has a new Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 eight-core platform. Xperia specs Z4 Tablet, judging by the comparison table below, is almost the same as Z3 Tablet Compact and Z2 Tablet. Maybe there is something in the Z4 Tablet that the specification plate is not capable of conveying?

Potential buyers of the Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet should be aware that the Russian market There are two modifications of this tablet: one can access the Internet only through a Wi-Fi connection, and the other also through 3G/LTE. The modification with a built-in modem is designated by the internal number SGP771RU, it was we who tested it. The version that is content only Wi-Fi networks, designated as SGP712RU. Be careful when buying!

⇡ Appearance and ergonomics

In appearance Sony's new tablet follows the same changes we saw with the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. The sharp edges of the hull became convex, and almost right angles became rounded and not so prickly. In addition, the gadget not only visually looks lighter than its predecessor - the tablet has lost weight from 440 grams to 396 grams compared to the Z2 Tablet. To "exit" four hundred grams for a ten-inch tablet is really worth a lot.

There are also changes that are almost invisible to the eye. For example, the case thickness of the same Xperia Z2 Tablet was 6.4 mm; the new Z4 Tablet is only 6.1 mm - the same as the Apple iPad Air 2. At the time of writing this article, the device is one of the thinnest and lightest 10-inch Android tablets.

Compact tablets with a display diagonal of seven or eight inches are more popular than their older, full-sized brothers, because they are lighter and more convenient to use in a canopy. Ten inch tablets are often large and bulky. However, this has nothing to do with the Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet - in terms of ease of use somewhere outside the home, due to its small mass and pleasant to the touch case, it is not inferior to more compact options. Hands do not get tired of it, even if you hold the tablet for a long time on weight. There is also a downside: the device looks noticeably simpler than the previous full-sized Sony tablet - Xperia Z2 Tablet.

The location of the controls on the tablet is completely standard for Sony "tablets" - if you have dealt with devices from the Xperia Z Tablet line before, then getting used to the new product will not be the slightest difficulty. There is nothing on the front panel except the display and front camera. The hardware power and volume keys are located on the left side. The buttons have a short and distinct stroke.

A universal 3.5 mm jack for connecting a wired headset is placed on the top end. Next to it is a slot for installing a card. microSD memory and SIM cards in Nano-SIM format. The MHL interface, which combines a video output and a high-speed Micro-USB 3.0 port, is placed on the right side. It is noteworthy that the plastic plug has been amputated - protection against water ingress is implemented without it. The company calls this solution Cap-less USB. The lower edge of the tablet case is empty - with the advent of Cap-less USB, the need for a docking station connector has disappeared.

Compact , protected from dust and moisture according to IP65/68 standards. This means that the Xperia Z4 Tablet can be submerged in fresh water up to one and a half meters deep for half an hour, provided that the cover for microSD and Nano-SIM cards is tightly closed. The Z4 Tablet is available in two colors - black and white.
